I do get where you’re coming from and forums like this can be a good place to let off steam, but the fact there are managers out there who regularly finish in the top
10k / 50k surely shows there’s a lot of skill involved. If you keep making the right decisions, you’ll still have rough weeks, but the hope is that it will generally even out over a full season

So much content now is regurgitated groupthink - if you’re too immersed in it it’s very easy to become concrete in you’re thinking that there is only one way to play or one set of players to pick.

The game is skill and luck.

IMO over my 20+ years of playing skill likely gets you top 100k and luck gets you 10k. There’s rafts of players who very rarely finish outside of the top 50k. If I were you I’d take a step back and temper the amount immersion and start to build your own instincts and gut calls.

Just my thoughts - my experience - started playing in 2004, casually dive years, started to take it seriously about 7 years ago and my worst rank in that time is 70k and I’ve had 3 too 10k in that time.

I truly can’t see Haaland in our teams given the form of Salah, Palmer, and even Saka. There’s no reason to own a 15m forward that you won’t captain. Cannot envisage consistent returns from him let alone form to trust him with captaincy for a prolonged period.
