Interesting, I think I'll keep them for now. Transfers are too valuable at this point, spending one to get rid of a player from a top defensive team doesn't feel right.

Was at 660k rank at the start of the gw. Sitting at 550k rank now with Raul Castagne SalahC left to play. Only one pool. Munoz from the bench and isak VC. If game called off and Raul Castagne blanks, then I will be on red arrow right? Saw many had good bench points if the game called off.

I don't but I live close enough to the Irish Sea which is closer to Liverpool than New Zealand. Just wanted to share that vital knowledge. Kickoff is scheduled in a little over 8 hours time and I don't know if it will go ahead or what the Euromillions numbers will be next Tuesday. But the Internet will tell me soon enough.

This is what I was saying about the Zophar article though... it's all well & good that he probably won't be rotated now but is that enough? 1 goal in 6 for 8m? Don't know why people are looking at the Bournemouth game like a good fixture either

Well, he plays for an attacking team and it's not like he is a bystander, he keeps getting good chances, you'd expect his output to improve despite being far from an elite finisher.
Bournemouth is a team that won't sit deep and allow Chelsea to dominate so he should find some open space.
On the other hand I've never owned him, so maybe I can't relate with the frustration.

Himself and Chelsea have overachieved in FPL terms compared to preseason predictions. Chelsea quality is Palmer. Big gap in standard between him and his teammates albeit Maresca is improving the rest of the squad and is doing well.

I spoke to a member of Merseyrail staff at Liverpool Central Station at 7:45pm last night. They said the trains would stop at midnight and wouldn't run tomorrow. From what they are putting on the website it looks like even the rail replacement buses can't run.

Apologies, I do get you. But plenty here and elsewhere giving out about other teams good luck and not fixing their own teams. See my Grav picture? We lost 11 finals since '89, haven't won a championship since 1951. But all of them losses come with excuses from fans, blaming refs, management, players, not closing out games. Not fixing the issues. I don't expect us to win the big one in 2025 even if we're good enough.

Heavy snow is threatening to postpone Manchester United’s Premier League game with Liverpool on Sunday.

Liverpool City Council’s Safety Advisory Group is set to convene and hold a meeting early this morning to discuss next steps in regards to the match, which is due to kick off at Anfield at 4.30pm.

Nearby Chesterfield have had their game with Gillingham called off.

This is a very cynical point of view but I find it genuinely quite weird that fans being unable to attend the game easily causes a game to be postponed, given how much more important media rights fees are than fan expenses to the clubs and how little clubs care about fans generally.

They don't care about fans. They care about ticket revenue. Hold the game with no fans and you've got to refund them all....

The TV rights are worth far more than the ticket revenue. Having to move one of the biggest games of the season to a sub optimal TV slot will have a much bigger impact even if it is indirect and more on the broadcaster side. If I was a broadcaster I would be pushing to stop Cancellations like this

          Money shouldn't overrule safety concerns.

But they did reopen the league during COVID, test millionaire footballers when NHS staff couldn't get COVID tests, causing staff shortages and lives. So anything is possible.

I tend to agree. Living in Liverpool in my childhood, I can never remember ever being told not to to travel, go to school etc, due to poor weather. Sure if one cannot get to the ground due to the soft underbelly of the transport systems of today, I do sympathize. Maybe the world should stop letting people cross the road under penalty of jail time. (Smile)

Eze, I think it's a generational thing too. I live a few minutes walk from two schools that my daughters go to. They know they have to walk there in the rain. 'Your Mam's from The Phillipines, your Dad is from Mayo, you're not afraid of rain'. But kids close to us will get driven to school on a wet day. Same kids will be at football training that night rolling around in muck and rain, never happier. Too many parents, believing nonsense they've read online, mollycoddling their children. And doing too much for them, not instilling a sense of initiative into them.

Meeting between the council and police is due around 9am onwards. So a decision should be made soon about the Liverpool v Man Utd going ahead or being postponed. Fan safety the key issue.

I would get ready for postponement!!

The closure of runways in the major airports in Liverpool and Manchester has already caused huge disruption to air travel in the UK on Sunday, while multiple train lines are operating disrupted services, including those that connect the Liverpool region to the wider country.

I thought I had vice-captained Isak, but when I looked at my team after the deadline I found that the vice-captain had mysteriously become Palmer instead.
I was annoyed at first, until Palmer outscored Isak by 9 points to 7.
Of course, I never even considered vice-captaining Mbeumo.

Mbeumo still essential imo so yeah easy switch there.

Regarding Sarr, was not in the points but he was great yesterday (our 2nd best player after Munoz) but yeah until Wharton is back we will not be at our best in midfield. At least Doucoure is starting to get back to his best in midfield now (after a season out injured) - once a fully fit Doucoure and Wharton are back in the middle would be the time to keep an eye on our players.

If they could get it to snow there it might cool down enough for a game to go ahead. Or Elon Musk could drive his rocket to the match and stay there. My mates are going on an expedition to the Sun next March. They're going at night, Knight!

Countries like Sweden and Finland usually have traffic chaos and massive disruption when they get their first big winter snowfall - so it doesn't other than as an example of how no-one else copes any better than we do 😛

If that's the case, I think it'll go ahead.

Snow hasn't been as bad as some models predicted and more importantly there doesn't appear to have been the freezing rain that the Met Office had warnings out for.

Conditions should improve through the day - can't see there being any deterioration now.

I was thinking of ways to make gains, and thought, can I sell the highly owned Palmer if Chelsea continue to slump?
I didn't want to fully commit, so I tested the waters by benching him Vs Palace. Oops.
In better news, I captained Savio with his 3 assists and max Bps.
