That feels pretty late but anything before GW23 would still be fine. Got to play WC accordingly.

Once they've mathematically secured top 8 in the UCL, which will be if they don't lose to Lille in the midweek before GW23.

I think one’s progress this gw solely depends on his/her captain choice since there are so many good options this gw. It is easy to make a wrong call like I often do when it is this close.

So, anyone who is settled on his skipper this gw, who have you gone with, how is your captaincy record this season & why have you gone with this player for gw 21??

I am torn between Salah, Palmer or Haaland.

    1. Holmes
      • 12 Years
      1 year, 2 months ago

Haaland for me, Brentford's defense is poor.

(T&C: Not a good record with captaincy)

      1. PartyTime
        • 4 Years

Fair enough. Thank you. Yes, Brentford are indeed poor defensively. Good game for City’s attackers.

I also have a mediocre captaincy record this season. Cap Palmer vs Brighton for his highest PL score this season which was so F great!

I tried to be too clever, went Palmer(C) again vs Ipswich in gw 19 when Salah absolutely destroyed West ham!
Hence, the current conundrum. So, Once bitten, twice shy & all that 🙂

Do you not have Isak? I'm torn between Salah and Isak, with Palmer 3rd. Haaland's a good 'punt' this GW.

          1. PartyTime
            • 4 Years
            1 year, 2 months ago

I have Isak but I don’t think he gets the highest pts this gw. 8-10 pts max would be my prediction. I also have Gordon & Murphy so the appeal to cap Isak isn’t there.

Sure. He has a high floor. The others have a higher chance of blanking.
re below - I'd be wary of new manager bounce with Hammers and Toffees.

Yes, I agree. Quite consistent, it’s also a high ceiling fixture for him imo, same with other options. Fortunately, triple Newcastle offense, hoping for the best. Thinking Salah / Palmer over Haaland / Isak though.

Good luck this game week buddy

Yip, lovely price too. FDR says Wolves next few fixtures are tricky, but moreso for results. Keepers and defenders, less cleansheet potential. His form was good under O'Neil, should improve under Pereira, and besides Newcastle next game, there's no team soon in great cleansheet form.

I don't see Cunha being the best pick.
Yes, he has done really well so far. But there's no denying his fixtures get tougher from now, he's been over performing his xgi, and we don't know if Pereira will tactically tweak his role. At the end of the day, Wolves are fighting relegation, and there are other strikers who are scoring equally well as Cunha, some cheaper and playing for better teams, with better fixtures.

Jacob Murphy - notice he wasn’t even on the bench yesterday.

Was it just a complete rest or is there a knock / injury to be aware of?

    1. PEP G
      • 10 Years

Jacob Murphy also picked up a knock while Joe Willock pulled out of the match after picking up a training ground injury.

      Explaining the absences, Howe said:

“Yeah, Joe just felt something in training yesterday. I think it's a muscular problem. I don't think it's serious. It was enough for us not to take the risk with him today. Similar with Alex, Sven, Jacob Murphy - all four of them.”
