It’s Gameweek 26 Scout Picks time as we nail down our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) player selection for the next round of fixtures.

As ever, we are limited by certain restrictions:

An £83.0m budget for our starting XI
An overall squad limit of £100.0m
No more than three players per team

GOALKEEPER

Bart Verbruggen (£4.5m) featured in each of our panel’s Scout Squad shortlists. He duly earns his place in the Gameweek 26 Scout Picks after an unexpected clean sheet and even more unexpected assist against Chelsea last weekend.

That’s partially on merit, with Brighton’s last five league matches including two shut-outs and two occasions with just a single goal conceded. Verbruggen also clearly has the power (and quick-footed attacking teammates) to chalk up the occasional assist via a long ball, as shown in Gameweek 25.

It is also due in part to the Seagulls’ opponents, Southampton, having scored the fewest goals in the division.

  Go for it. Newcastle have NFO and Liverpool next two games, so assuming you have Issak, that’s probably enough coverage. Either that, or do one this week and another next week.

  I did Hall and Gordon to Kerkez and Kluivert (already had Dango) - had 2 FT and wanted to do those moves at some point in prep for 29 anyway but thought I’d just go this week given fixtures. Could all backfire of course!

    Yeah, Bournemouth with best home defensive record so Cunha probably an okay choice to leave on the bench.. Both him and Wood on pens, so you never know when they get an easy 9+ pointer..

Surprised to see no Mbeumo in the Scout Picks article not even as a second or third pick as captain by any of them, and he is a close second to Salah in Captain Sensible article. Could be partially down to price but there looks to be enough spent on the bench to have had him over Wissa (in a 3-5-2), or Mitona, or Kuilvert.

  Wissa's numbers are a lot stronger, I'd probably say that's the reason. Though LEI are very weak on the flank Mbeumo plays. Mbeumo owner myself so fingers crossed he actually does something tonight.

    I really like the look of C but moving towards gw29 I need absolutely nailed on starters. I do think nwaneri is first team for now but I might edge towards a Bournemouth player for coverage especially with the good run they have

    I think I read it would be from ~GW30. Thing is, if he can ay LW at all - would Arteta start him over Sterling? Maybe.
    
    I would be a tad concerned on the risk of an injury with him. Young, a lot of minutes, not much backup.
    
    It's a risk - especially given BOU have great GW30/31 fixtures too.

I'm thinking about WC next week.
My team: Raya, VVD, Myko, Robinson
Odegaard, Salah, Rogers, Enzo, Dango
Mateta, Watkins
(Pickford, Hall, Konsa, Gakpo)

My dilemma: A) Gakpo > Wissa for -4 or
B) Save transfer and WC next week
C) something else

    Well I've been planning to get rid of Gakpo so it'd be Gakpo>Wissa. I wasn't aware of any more DGWs??? The blank in GW29 now looks more serious now that Villa's in on it.
