"So, fingers crossed Alex will be fine. I understand the intense speculation and spotlight on him but the best thing we can do is just relax and let him play his football."

Gotta love Howe and his way to not comit to anything when answering about injuries. And yes I know managers don't have to give us anything, it's just that he's so special at it imo.

It's got to the point where if he says 'Yeah, he’s fine. Yeah, he’s good', i actually assume that means he is not fine at all.

Cunha out and bench Isak/Dango? Otherwise could have 3FTs for the BGW29.

    Pick
    TAA/Gab/Munoz
    Salah/Palmer/Mbeumo/Kluivert/Dango
    Isak/Wood

    Fab/Greaves/Cunha/Hall

Aren't they only price protected when they move from flag to no flag? So they can drop during flag.

He had a huge amount of transfers in this week as well before he got injured so I'm guessing it'll take quite a few out to do anything.

Current team as below. Plans ruined a bit as was going to play Mateta this week and using 3 saved transfers GW29 to swap him for Cunha and Valdimarsson to Sa [still going to do that one]:

    £0.1ITB
    Henderson
    Gabriel Huijsen TAA
    Salah Palmer Enzo Bruno Dango
    Isak Wood

    Subs: Valdimarsson, Burn, Mykolenko, Mateta*

Stick with it this week or any changes?

What would you suggest I should do with this team with so many injuries/ suspensions and the fact that there could be some rotation for LIV. I will be wildcarding in GW30 so my transfers are limited to just 2 weeks.

    Pickford
    TAA Konate Gabriel Colwill
    Salah (c) Palmer Mbeumo Kluivert
    Isak* Wood

    Bench- Dango Cunha** VdB**

    A) Cunha to Wissa and bench Gabriel
    B) Cunha to Beto and bench Gabriel
    C) Roll and play Gabriel and then use 2 FT'S in GW29

The vibe I'm getting from Manchester United (as a fan) is that our priority will be the Europa match next week. We were all knackered by the end and Arsenal have had two extra days to prepare, and can afford to rest players in the return match against PSV. Apart from a potential narrative-themed winner for Obi, I can see this weekend being very one-sided.

Anyone going for Haaland who is actually ranked well and leading their MLs or is he only for the chasers?

    1. Conners
      • 6 Years
      9 months, 3 days ago

I think it depends on squad value as much as rank.

Some in my ML only have 102-103m SV. Will be difficult for them to build a decent WC/BB team with Haaland.

      • 15 Years

Im not ranked well (400k+) and not leading any leagues. I’m planning to get Haaland but only because I have 5ft. Others in my league will not be able to get him without hits or WC so I see him as a good differential. Whether that’s chasing or not I don’t know.

    3. DARE TO BISCAN

I think a lot will bring him in for GW29. That's my plan (ranked well, but only in the grand scheme of things 😉 )

    4. KeanosMagic
      • 3 Years
      9 months, 3 days ago

      I'm planning to.
Not sure if 150k is counted as good or not though, but I'm leading or in the top 5 in my minileagues.

Palmer out is basically what I'm doing. I figured Haaland will score similarly if not better, but can always switch back if it goes horribly

        9 months, 3 days ago

Yeah, I agree with that. Also I am wildcarding in GW31 so always have that option to fix things should it go horribly wrong, but also I think Haaland is in isolation great option and semi-best captain in GW29, as well as probably the best captain option in GW30

        1. KeanosMagic
          • 3 Years

I suppose my only concern is Palmer vs Ipswich in 32, with Jackson meant to be back soon it might result in a Palmer improvement. Depending on how the blank falls though I might just FH in 32 and get him back

            • 8 Years

That is something to think about in your situation, yeah. I am still WC-ing in 31 so looking at very short term until then. On WC I'll probably re-evaluate everything, depending on blanks and doubles

    5. Camzy

I'll probably go for him on WC. It makes sense to given the fixtures.

      1. Silecro
        • 8 Years
        9 months, 3 days ago

Yeah. I plan to hop on him even before that, have that luxury to go Palmer>6.5, Isak>Haaland and screw the competition behind me in ML who will surely bring him to catch me. Im not FH-ing in 29 but will most definitely play my WC in 31 so always have that as a cover if things go terribly wrong (= Palmer mega hauling in 29 and 30, and Isak hauling in 30)

Oliver Glasner has confirmed that Jean-Philippe Mateta is recovering well from the injury he sustained against Millwall last weekend.

Having been stretchered off the pitch following an instance of serious foul play in the opening minutes of the FA Cup tie, it was revealed later on Saturday that the forward had been discharged from St George’s Hospital where he received specialist treatment and 25 stitches to a severe laceration to his left ear.

Mateta will not be involved when Palace host Ipswich Town at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon, nor will midfielder Will Hughes, who is suspended through accumulation of yellow cards.

Glasner – speaking in his pre-match press conference – confirming: “Mateta is doing well. He is at home and his recovery is going well. He had no fractures or concussion. Healing from the huge wound is going as we expected.

"He will go to Marbella with us next week and be just training individually. If everything goes how we wish, he will be available versus Fulham [after the March international break].

“We lost JP in this game – we can’t play him tomorrow – but it’s not too bad.

I have not been following FPL at all since last GW but I have been holding Gakpo all this time for Southampton. The match is upon us and he is now flagged, with an apparently knackered ankle. What is the story? Will he actually play or is the ankle thing real? I have not been able to catch a break at all since January.

Not going to FH in 29. Got 1.9 ITB and 1FT. What to do? Currently on D/E will do D if Mateta is out 100% and E if he plays this week.

    Pickford
    TAA Robinson Mykolenko
    Palmer Salah Bowen Mbuemo
    Mateta Cunha Isak

    Fab Enzo Mazaroui VDB

    A) Enzo to Kluivert
    B) VDB to Gvardiol
    C) Cunha to Wood (Play Enzo)
    D) Enzo and Cunha to Kluivert and Wood -4pts and VDB to Aina next week

I am roughly WC 31 so this only for ~3 gws.2 FT. I will anyway transfer Gakpo out next week so this is matter of timing etc.

    a) Save ft, play Gakpo and Dango first on the bench.
    b) Gakpo to Wood
    c) Gakpo to Marmoush

    Pick

Dead ending before GW29, then WC 30/31.
    Team is
    Raya
    Munoz - Virgil - Ait-Nouri
    Salah - Dango - Semenyo - Bowen - Palmer
    Isak - Gakpo
    (Fabianski - Raul - Robinson - Kerkez)

I expect Dango to play a minor part (coming off the bench), and quite certain Gakpo's minutes will be managed. I spent my FT on RAN for Hall.
As of right now, I don't know what could be worth a hit in this situation, or who to even bring in for Dango and/or Gakpo.. Suggestions?

    1. Vasshin
      • 6 Years

I don’t think you need to transfer anyone with hit.

You can easily start any of your bench instead of Dango if you believe Dango doesn’t start. Gapko is interesting as he is playing against Southampton so not sure if you want to bench him or not, but your bench is pretty good

What is the best thing to do if you have these players blanking or injured
    Allison/Fab, Hall(out), 3.9 defender(doesn’t play), Salah, Rogers, Mateta(injured but could play gw30), isak
    1. Fh 29, hall to Munoz this week
    2. No FH 29, currently have 7 players for 29( Timber, Aina, Robinson, Palmer, Mbuemo, kluivert, Raul) so get 3 players using Free transfer to have 10 players for gw29

Just roll, if you have a back up, better having 2 FT's for GW 29. My dilemma is wether to start him over Watkins or not. He coulod do serious damage against SOU and Watkins seems to be going through a slump.
