Our in-house panel of Marc, Sam, Neale and Tom explain their key nominations and omissions below.

In this article series, our team discuss who they think the best players are for the upcoming Gameweek in isolation. In other words, there’s no medium-term planning involved.

The players who get the most votes are likelier to make Friday’s Scout Picks.

Each of our writers must meet the following requirements for this feature:

  • At least one sub-£5.0m goalkeeper
  • At least one sub-£5.0m defender
  • At least one sub-£6.0m midfielder
  • At least one sub-£7.0m forward
  • No more than three players from the same club

      I don't think Gvardiol is a 'must' but it's a low risk roll for Trent, over next two, you'd imagine?

      Don't personally feel WC worth it this week.

    Just gauging if i need to take a hit have 3 ft's which would be:
    Hall, Dango, Isak out - Milenkovic, Fernandes, Wood in

    Pickford

    Fernandes (vc), Palmer, Mbeumo, Kluivert
    Wood (c), Wissa, JP

    Fabs, Salah, TAA, Munoz
    This leaves 1m bank

    The problem is i have no way to go Wissa to Mateta/Isak with 1ft in gw30 so the hit part was downgrading Palmer to says Gibbs-White/Elanga so it gives me the cash. Lots will be taking hits so impact will not be so great. So which option do you like:
    (a) no hit or
    (b) take the hit

    Can someone explain the WC logic this week? What is the appeal? How can you be certain you have the best DGW players without knowing who will get the DGW in GW33?

      I expect those having to WC have 4-5 FTs available but their team is in a mess.

      Using the WC saves the use of those transfers and enables any moves needed the other side to navigate future weeks.

      That’s the situation I’d consider using it this week.

      Firstly, I think WC is preferable to FH since balancing 33 with 34 is virtually impossible without FH, whereas you can WC now into a team that still halfway prepares you for 33 by going heavy on City, couple of Bournemouth, 1-2 Arsenal, maybe a Brighton attacker, and park e.g. Muñoz and Isak on the bench. Then it shouldn't be too hard to save up 3-4 FTs by GW33.

      I think it's safe enough to gamble on City & Villa getting the double, and then you just predict or hedge the other QF ties. It's a slight gamble, and maybe a bit tricky if trying to setup BB33, but doable, and I think ultimately preferable to FH29 if your team is a proper shambles for this week

      Well it varies case by case. I'm going WC this week cuz

      -i have to take a hit to field even 10 this week
      - have 3 FTs. The new rule allows me to bank those and get 3 more DGWers in the coming week
      - No BB so don't have to worry about going overboard in DGWers
      - have AM so can't use WC in 31 or 32
      -its not impossible to predict some of the DGW. Villa and city almost certainly will have one. Palace already have one and could get another. The. U have 4 weeks to react to other DGWers

      Point 3 and 4 make a WC this week very easy call for me butfor those with BB and no AM point 2 and 5 also work to an extent, especially if the team this week is really poor

        Isnt another option to FH into the DGW33 and then manage BGW34 with free transfers instead?

        I WC’d last week, as had too many fires to fight. I gained 30 points in that week, have 11 without hits for this week. My team looks great for gw30 (probably bench boost).

          Yes that's my other option but I depends on the FA cup results

          If forest Bournemouth palace especially don't make it through I'll just use AM 30-32 and FH 33. Would also lose Haaland and get Palmer after 2 weeks using the FTs in that case

          WCing this week allows the flexibility depending on FA cup results

    Okey, i think i have decided on 2 out of 3 transfers.
    Sarr & Cunha -> Bruno & Evanilson

    But have some headache on deciding on the 3rd.
