Choose your club picks wisely

One of the biggest factors in success last season was the “winning club” selection each Gameweek.

However, there’s a crucial rule to remember: you can only pick each club a maximum of five times throughout the season. This means careful planning is essential.

To maximise your points, prioritise saving your highly favoured clubs for double Gameweeks or “easy” away fixtures, where they are likely to score big.

Check out FDR if you haven’t done so already.

Track the teamsheets

Secondly, staying on top of player availability and teamsheets is crucial to having a successful season. The EFL season is notoriously demanding, and as we saw last season, it’s constantly impacted by new injury reports, transfer developments, and rescheduled matches.

To help you navigate this, we’ll provide weekly updates on player availability for your VII. Staying on top of this information is absolutely critical.

Remember, you have the flexibility to change any player or club in your Fantasy EFL team right up until their respective matches kick off – a truly unique and enjoyable aspect of the game.

You do not want to be missing out on points simply because your selected players do not make an appearance. 90-minute men are more often than not crucial.

STRATEGICALLY TARGET PLAYERS AND CLUBS

In a game like Fantasy EFL, which provides points for metrics such as key passes and shots on target, focusing on set-piece takers is an effective strategy.

When teams have designated free-kick and corner takers, they will rack up key passes at a much higher rate than most other players.

Similarly, penalty-takers will naturally be amongst the highest goal-scorers and therefore the highest Fantasy scorers.

Stay tuned for our comprehensive list of set piece takers across the EFL so you can make the most of the Fantasy bonus points.

Utilise the Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR)

When you’re picking your 7+2 each week, a crucial factor to consider is the difficulty of their upcoming fixtures.

Our Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR) ticker provides a clear, colour-coded list that shows you how challenging each team’s fixtures are across all 40 Gameweeks.

A smart strategy for consistently high point totals is to select players and clubs with the easiest fixtures. The real challenge, of course, is figuring out which fixtures are genuinely difficult, and that’s precisely where our vital research and the FDR ticker prove invaluable.

Make the most of the Double Gameweeks

One of the most exciting aspects about Fantasy EFL is how frequent Double Gameweeks are.

We’ve got 16 Double Gameweeks already on the schedule, and each one is guaranteed to deliver an immeasurable amount of drama!

Knowing when these highly anticipated Gameweeks are and having strategies for each of them will be an integral part of your campaign.

Blank Gameweeks will also play a significant role this season, with six Championship blanks and one for both League One and League Two. This means that you will have limited options to choose from at multiple points across the season, including in Gameweek 1, where there are no fixtures taking place in the Championship.

Now that we have given you our top strategic tips for the upcoming season, there is no better time than the present to sign up and build your squad.
