As we prepare to return from the 2025/26 season’s first international break, it’s high time to dig into the statistics from the opening three Gameweeks and revive… ‘Big Numbers’!

Diving back into the Opta and StatsBomb data available in our Members Area, we’ll discuss the most eye-catching stats that we’ve gathered so far.

You can, of course, sort all of the data used (and more) within your own parameters via the Members Area.

Only subscribers can read the full article. Those wishing to sign up to our site and continue reading, and see a list of the benefits that Membership brings, can do so by clicking here.

GOALKEEPERS

92.9% of the shots on target faced by Guglielmo Vicario (£5.0m) have been saved, 13 from 14. That’s the highest percentage so far, ahead of David Raya (£5.5m, 90.9%) and Robert Sanchez (£5.0m, 88.9%).

Indeed, the Tottenham Hotspur shotstopper has also made the most total saves, has the best rate of them per minute (20.8), and has denied the highest percentage of big chances (40%) of all who have appeared at least twice.

+2.20 expected goals (xG) prevented by Vicario is another league-leading mark. This further highlights his importance to Spurs, as the data suggests he has helped them concede roughly two goals less than expected.

The bulk of that cumulative total came in Gameweek 1 against Burnley. But Vicario also finished with a positive figure when facing Manchester City and Bournemouth.

Trailing him in the total rankings is Man City’s James Trafford (£5.0m), on +1.90 xG prevented.

He’s about to unluckily lose his place to Gianluigi Donnarumma (£5.5m), but Trafford – despite being responsible for one of Spurs’ Gameweek 2 goals – doesn’t appear to be the primary issue with their porous backline. Last time out, his single match score in the loss to Brighton and Hove Albion was +1.10.

3 goalkeepers have kept two clean sheets and conceded just once, so far. As you can probably guess from the earlier statistic, that trio is Vicario, Raya and Sanchez.

Bournemouth newbie Djordje Petrovic (£4.5m) joins them as another to earn at least two save points. Vicario has three, one each time.

However, rather than Petrovic, it’s double clean sheet man Nick Pope (£5.0m) and penalty-saving Jordan Pickford (£5.5m) who join the main trio inside the top five for FPL points.

On WC 4 FH 6, who do you prefer? 🙂

    A) Evanilson - BRI, NEW, FUL

Pedro is a bit of a set and forget but Evanilson for the next 3 definitely has the better fixtures.

A personally but can imagine many will say B.

JP has just come back from Bolivia and could have his minutes managed this weekend.

I’m in similar boat.. I would say A as well. The fact Pedro has high ownership worries me but it’s a chance to take him on.
Chelsea have a lot of fixtures whereas Evanilson can be a set and forget for a while.

Thoughts on this WC draft? Have kept funds to do Ekitike & Mateta > Isak & Gyokeres later.

    Raya
    Lacroix - Senesi - Burn
    Gakpo - Semenyo - Xavi - Reijnders
    Ekitike - Haaland - Mateta

    Dubravka - Elliott - Diakite - VdV

I like Mateta's next two but am not averse to it given he has Forest and it saves a transfer

I'd probably swap Diakite for Richards and play him over Senesi. I'd be tempted to play Elliott over Reijnders too.

The Diakite over Richards call is purely based on medium term fixtures. Palace have two good ones and then it turn.

I just rate their defence as better equipped to get clean sheets in more difficult fixtures.

What about this? Have switched Burn, Diakite & Elliott > Munoz, Andersen & KDH.

            Raya
            Lacroix - Munoz - Andersen
            Gakpo - Semenyo - Xavi - Reijnders
            Ekitike - Haaland - Gyokeres

            Dubravka - Senesi - KDH - VdV

Prefer having Mateta now and Gyokeres later as you originally planned. The defensive switches are nice tbf, Fulham underrated defence and it’s good to get Munoz in there

Thanks. I could switch Lacroix to Burn to avoid the Palace double D but Lacroix looks like a great pick for DC regardless. It's between Lacroix & Burn

I'd do Dorgu to Senesi. Dorgu has to go and Senesi has a lovely run of 4 now. Mixed messages on Sarr injury and return to play, so extra week of information might be nice if you can afford to bench.

That means starting Wood but also benching a Forest or Burnley defender/ keeper which might be sensible too

Putting together a Salah and Haaland draft is not easy. Have landed on the below, but need to shave off 0.1 to afford. Given Esteve will rarely play I am tempted to drop to a 3.9 who will anchor the 3rd bench spot. Any inspiration appreciated:

    Raya, Dubravka
VVD, Munoz, Sensei, Gudmundsson, Esteve (or 3.9 to afford it)
    Salah, Semenyo, Paqueta, KDH, King
    Haaland, Gyokeres, Thiago

Other option is a downgrade of Thiago to Muniz, but I do like the fact Thiago is a 90 minute man, and on penalties. Or Paqueta to Reijnders but not overhwelmed by Reijnders underyling.

    A - Mateta
    B - Gyokeres

realise that mateta has the better early fixtures, but then they turn very nice for arsenal and good to not book in a transfer etc.

All the models has Gyokeres slightly ahead for predicted points, but never sure how accurate they are..

Dan Burn on WC… why not? DefCon, decent team defensive numbers and reasonable fixtures.

With Munoz, VdV, Senesi and Gudmundsson already in, not sure another £5.0m non double up defender jumps out more

Why VdV? And yeah I don't mind Dan Burn. Although Tosin I think is one of the best 4.5m defenders. I started with him and very happy. He will get DCs as the centre CB in a 3 and he's the cheapest route into a very good defense.

Fair point on Tosin, have had Chalobah in place some before his rise so hadn’t considered the former… he nailed, at least as long as Colwill is out?

VdV largely to get some Spurs defence with their decent upcoming fixtures; had Vicario for that but have recently decided I sadly prefer Raya’s nailedness to Calafiori’s upside, so did the hokey cokey. Now even debating benching Senesi (Brighton have goals in them) for VdV!

Tbh he's probably the only NCL player I'd touch before Gordon is back.

My only slight doubt is whether he starts consistently over Botman when Howe reverts to a back 4

Plenty of doubts over whether Botman can prove his fitness long term.

Schar and Burn should be first choice, at least short term in a back 4. I think we'll see 3 CBs a bit more this season to try and help with managing the minutes for the mids.

OK cheers... I had Burn in some WC drafts but just wasn't entirely sure about this & thought maybe he won't find a spot at LB anymore if/when Botman is fully fit (and don't particularly enjoy playing the game of reading Howe's pressers). Happy enough with my switch to Pope anyway

A lot of choices here with 1FT. BB played, FH WC left. 3,2 itb.

Pedro as a minor mins doubt after IB adds extra flavour.

    a) Save (play Chris Wood and third def is Rodon/De Cuyper)
    b) Sarr to Semenyo (bench Wood)
    c) De Cuyper to Richards/Lacroix/Munoz/Senesi (4 at back bench Wood, 3 at back play Wood bench Rodon and De Cuyper)

    Sanchez
    Porro Andersen RODON/DE CUYPER
    Salah Wirtz Reijnders Kdh SARR*
    Watkins Pedro Wood

Any of these moves worth a hit this gw? Tempted by A.

    A. Dorgu > lacroix
    B. Watkins > Mateta
    C. No hit

    Sanchez
    Gabriel milenkovic vdv
    Gakpo semenyo Johnson reijnders
    Haaland Watkins pedro

    Dubravka Anderson gudmundsson dorgu

Not Watkins for a hit definitely. It’s a tough call between A and C. Lacroix likely out-scores Milenkovic this week, but Mil could easily score from a corner, and will likely get DefCon vs Arsenal

Wissa injury has caused a bit of a rejig of WC plans. Any issues with this draft?

    Vicario Dubravka
    Munoz Burn Andersen Senesi Rodon
    Salah Grealish Pac Reijnders Elliott
    Haaland Mateta Pedro

Like it. Not a big fan of Reijnders tbh. I’d take Ndiaye over Grealish. Otherwise looks fairly good

      Salas aside, midfield isn't great
Drop Salah and get a better team overall

I'd like him for next 2 at least, could easily fit Saka & Simons/Mbeumo/Gordon after that.

Haaland Gakpo Semenyo Xavi Lacroix Senesi... were the first names in for me anyway, the ones I didn't tinker with
