Suspensions

As we discussed earlier this week, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (£5.0m) became the first player to pick up five Premier League bookings this season.

He’ll miss Gameweek 7 as a result.

But what about the others sitting nervously on the Suspension Tightrope? We reveal all in this article.

WHEN ARE THE CUT-OFF POINTS FOR SUSPENSIONS?

ban Gameweek 7

The table above is taken from the Football Association website. It details the cut-off points for the various yellow card thresholds.

The one we’re concerned about right now is the five-caution mark. This is an unwanted target that Premier League players will have to avoid for their team’s first 19 league matches of the season.

Punishments for yellow card accumulation are competition-specific, whereas suspensions for dismissals cover all competitive matches.

ON FOUR + THREE YELLOW CARDS

ban Gameweek 7

There’s only one Premier League player sitting on four bookings – and given that it’s the 0.1%-owned Sasa Lukic (£5.0m), most FPL managers can rest easy.

There are 10 others on three yellow cards, however.

Among them is Riccardo Calafiori (£5.7m), who finds himself in 14.5% of Fantasy teams.

Neco Williams (£4.9m), whose popularity and price are dwindling anyway after a clean-sheet-less start for Nottingham Forest, is also among this group.

CURRENTLY SUSPENDED

FPL notes: Dewsbury-Hall ban + Nuno's first West Ham game 3

Other than Dewsbury-Hall, there are four players on the suspension list.

Trevoh Chalobah (£5.2m) is the newest addition, having been sent off for the denial of a clear goalscoring opportunity last weekend. He’ll miss Saturday’s clash with Liverpool.

Tomas Soucek (£5.7m) and Reinildo Mandava (£4.0m) will also be suspended for the next one and two league matches, respectively.

Mykhailo Mudryk (£5.0m) remains provisionally banned by the Football Association.

Hugo Ekitike (£8.7m) and Casemiro (£5.5m) return from suspensions in Gameweek 7.

Will we get all the press conferences before the friday deadline? Especially curious about the status of Ekitike, Allison and Chelsea forward status with George limping off last night.

Yes, we will get all the press conferences since all matches are played across Friday to Sunday. Normally, we would not get all pressers when teams have midweek league fixtures.

    Hi all,

    Raya
    Virgil VdV Senesi Munoz
    Bruno Semenyo Reijnders
    Haaland(C) Pedro Gyokeres

    Dubravka Gakpo Rodon King

    1 FT and 0.5 ITB..

Does Virgil > Gabriel make the most sense here?

Will likely shift Gakpo after IBs next gw

Virgil to Gabriel does not really seem worth a transfer to me. Your defense is very good, you dont need Gabriel.

If you prefer double Arsenal def over Double Arsenal attack then seems a good move. Other option would be looking at Gakpo/Bruno to Eze/Saka

Looks like Alisson's annual hammy injury

    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alisson/verletzungen/spieler/105470

'When he sprinted back, he felt something. I cannot tell you [exactly] because I am not a physio, but normally when a player sprints back - feels something - goes to the floor and doesn't come back onto the pitch [it is not good]...'

'Normally, he will not be able to play on Saturday. That's 99.9 per cent – I've already said 100 per cent, but let's make it 99.9 [although] I think it's 100.'

Mamardashvili is 4.3m, potentially a decent pickup on WC7 if Alisson is out for a while. On the flip side, Liverpool’s defence will likely be weaker without Alisson.

    A) Gakpo to Sarr/Eze
    B) Grealish to Sarr/Eze
    C) Gakpo + Grealish to Sarr + Eze (-4)
    D) Gakpo + Foden to Saka + Sarr (-4) Can get Saka multiple ways but all need a downgrade somewhere

If I have no Haaland, do you think Gabriel (c) could work? I mean if there's any fixture to go for it, this would be it, right?

Could also do Gyokeres, Bruno, Mbeumo, Watkins or Salah, but none of those feel right.

If Gabriel continues to punch people in the face, there may be some minus points soon.

I would probably go Salah out of those. Chelsea's defence is decimated.

I think it's worth considering. I captained Lacroix against them which wasn't far off working. Suppose a slight difference would be that Gabriel is less likely have that 4pt DC-baseline if West Ham sit deeper under Nuno, and maybe he's had a little time to address their set pieces issues. But not much time, not much he can do about his GKs deficiencies in this area, and now facing the league's strongest side for attacking set pieces.... And yeah I don't feel like those other options have the same ceiling as Gabriel if he does get a goal + CS + bonus

I would suggest trying to roll more than one FT if you plan to BB8 after the IB. This way, you can cover any injuries or minutes concerns from players returning late.

as someone that invariably opts for the cheapest nailed links to a defence, to see Guehi/Richards out do my Munoz/Lacroix double up is a tad frustrating at this stage

I'm looking at Sarr too so Palace slots are precious.

Quite tempted by Munoz to Richards and then KDH to Sarr. Feel like Lacroix and Richards DCs are a lot more repeatable etc.

Richards for me - looks good for DCs and he's cheap as chips:

      XGI (average pg)
      1) 0.31 - Munoz (5.6m)
      2) 0.12 - Mitchell (5.0m)
      3) 0.08 - Guehi (4.8m)
      4) 0.08 - Lacroix (5.1m)
      5) 0.06 - Richards (4.5m)

      DC (average pg)
      1) 10.5 - Richards (4.5m)
      2) 10.5 - Lacroix (5.1m)
      3) 8.5 - Mitchell (5.0m)
      4) 7.8 - Guehi (4.8m)
      5) 6.2 - Munoz (5.6m)

We won't know until he gets scan. Ekitike suggests it was cramp but I wouldn't trust players opinions on injuries until it's fully assessed.

Cheers. Anthony has done well and has the underlying stats to back it up, but I'm not a fan of BUR's fixtures (except for next week). Don't expect much from Caicedo other than DCs, which I think I you largely get from Xhaka at 0.7m cheaper. Minteh has looked decent over the first 6 tricky fixtures, and BHA are near the top of the ticker for a while. That's my thinking anyway!

Cheers. I was thinking double CPL attack away at EVE might be asking for trouble - EVE don't usually ship loads of goals. Obviously has the benefit of Watkins (BUR), but also gives me a week to decide between Mateta (BOU,ars) or Pedro (nfo,SUN) for GW8/9 - fixtures certainly better for Pedro, but I do like Mateta long term and with pens. All of that makes me think it's worth planning to use 1 of the 3 FTs.

I like it. I do think going without Joao Pedro on WC is brave given their fixtures and how good his minutes are right now.

Thanks. I can get him back with 2 moves if I need to. I do have 1.6m ITB.

Assuming Murillo is fit, and bearing in mind I’m on WC8…

    Would you bench boost this?

    Dubravka (avl)
    Gakpo (che)
    Murillo (new)
    Esteve (avl)

Booo. I’m 50/50 on it, I won’t be BBing that amount of value again in future and allows less money on the bench on WC8. Fixtures aren’t amazing but also aren’t awful.

Otherwise would likely plan for 9 or more likely 11…

The fixtures for GW8 are a lot nicer for BB

I think most would start Dubravka but I’d be going Sanchez.

Have 2FT. My mid: Bruno, Semenyo, Reijnders, Grealish, Kudus

    A) Kudus > Sarr
    B) Grealish > Sarr
    C) Save

B for me but I’d also be looking to use the Bruno money elsewhere

Is free-hitting this week the way to go to bide time to a GW8 international break wildcard without losing ground on those who played it in GW6 or this week? And actually allows to target some differentials like Villa against Burnley

      Best option this gw?

      A. Gakpo > Saka
      B. Gakpo > Sarr
      C. Save ft and start Gakpo

Debating the same and leaning towards keeping Gakpo - might even start Güehi over Gakpo

Esteve and Wood to Gabriel and Gyokeres worth a hit?

        Wood to Gyok looks good.
I dont think Esteeve to Gabriel is worth a hit
