Who is the best captain for FPL Gameweek 11?

Erling Haaland (£14.8m) delivered his fifth double-digit haul of the season for the millions of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers who handed him the armband in Gameweek 10.

The captaincy decision might not be quite so straightforward in Gameweek 11, however, with Man City hosting reigning champions Liverpool on Super Sunday.

In Captain Sensible, we diligently ask if there is a case to look beyond the Norwegian this week, especially with Arsenal’s relentless form and Chelsea facing Wolverhampton Wanderers in a plum fixture.

First, we will assess the on-site captaincy poll. We will then analyse player and team statistics, Rate My Team (RMT) and the Premier Fantasy Tools ratings to determine the best captain for Gameweek 11 ahead of Saturday’s 11am GMT deadline.

As is customary, Haaland leads the Fantasy Football Scout captaincy poll, albeit by a smaller margin than we have grown accustomed to in recent weeks. Just under 35% of site users believe the Norwegian, who has scored 13 goals in 10 league starts, is the best option for Gameweek 11.

Two other players, Bukayo Saka (£10.1m) and Joao Pedro (£7.4m), can boast at least 10% of the vote, ahead of fixtures against Sunderland and Wolves, respectively.

Elsewhere, Gabriel Magalhaes (£6.6m), Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.9m) and Bryan Mbeumo (£8.4m) are the only other players to receive more than 5% backing. All three players feature in the top six most-transferred in ahead of the weekend’s action.

      No from me. Enzo won't play 10 and Delap could take the pens. He could also play 10 and be on pens. Either way I don't like Enzo as a pick. Although I also don't like Foden but fancy him over Enzo.

      Best I’ve seen Foden play for 2 seasons the other night. He could be a cracking differential. If he can put another performance in against Liverpool he’s coming in for Saka after the Intl break

        I just can’t bring myself to bring in a defensive midfielder who has a total XG of 0.67 for the whole season.

        I absolutely hate the introduction of DEFCON. It’s ruined the game for me. FPL is about fun and enjoyment, seeing your player pop up with a goal or assist… not make a load of interceptions.

    Got myself a multi-headed benching dilemma beast. Would love to have my BB but who’d have known about Caicedo and VDV?

    Need to bench two of:
    A) Micky
    B) Anderson
    C) senesi (Munoz and gab are nailed for me)

    Then it’s Caicedo vs. Thiago (semenyo, Bruno, Sarr, rice aren’t moving for me). I’m more settled on benching Caicedo than Thiago given striker, pens etc

    Currently have no idea what to do with defenders. Any advice appreciated

      I’d defs bench A. Toss of a coin between B and C, but I’m edging towards B.

      Defs bench Caicedo over Thiago. But I always prefer going for the more likely player to score… because FPL is about fun for me.

            Wish I had as much confidence as you. I’ve seen about 40 predicted line ups from City fans and only one has Reijnders down to start. Bernardo and Cherki both rested against Dortmund too.
