You’ve probably heard about Joe’s much-liked ‘Goals Imminent’ table. You might listen to his and Marc’s Fantasy Football Scout podcast of the same name. Now, Goals Imminent is here in article form!

Heading towards Gameweek 25 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL), these Members Area statistics identify some underachieving players who look ‘due’ for a goal and/or assist.

Naturally, we’ll attempt to assess whether they’re unlucky, suffering a rare blip, or just aren’t particularly good.

LAST WEEK’S SUCCESSES

FPL notes: Foden + Cherki shine in another Haaland blank 2

The name on top of Gameweek 24’s list, Kevin Schade (£7.1m), instead received a straight red card at Villa Park! He’ll miss the next two league matches.

Things were better for Rayan Cherki (£6.6m) and Jarrod Bowen (£7.6m), though. We spoke about the Frenchman being more about setting up goals, rather than netting for himself, but he put Manchester City ahead on Sunday afternoon, played in by Erling Haaland (£15.0m).

Bowen has two goals in two, pushing him off this week’s table.

Yet the main successes came from predicted assistors, despite only six of the nine being able to play.

Casemiro (£5.5m) and Pascal Gross (£5.5m) registered 13 and 12 points, respectively, while Crysencio Summerville (£5.5m) scored for the third time in a row.

Don’t want to get rid of any of my mids for DGW with Arsenal, so looking at DCL > Gyokeres or an Arsenal triple up with Gab, Timber and Saliba

What happens if someone gets subbed off and then VAR picks up that they should have been sent off for an earlier challenge but they are already off the pitch?

VAR can't impact something once the ball is back in play (I believe). So that instance can't technically happen.

Are there any good English football magazines and do they perhaps have a good website where I can always stay up-to-date?

By the way everyone is going to be at least triple Arsenal defence regardless as everyone is surely going Gabriel captain

    8. F4L
      • 11 Years

gabriel tc in 26, i mean he's getting at least 12 points across those 2 matches aint he, defcon likely in one, a goal possible, 1 clean sheet.

wait and hope a liverpool/united/city etc attacker gets a tasty double later or just be happy to get 12-16 from gabriel, and if he gets more it'd be a nice bonus

Thats true. Its not a bad pick Gab by any stretch. I fear his goalscoring threat has reduced a lot though and it was entirely set piece anyway and will he DC in those games? Feels a bit clean or bust. Obviously Haaland is goal or bust too

        4. Yes Ndidi
          • 6 Years

Haaland's double likely to be GW33 if it happens. Most of us I suspect have WC32 BB33 in mind. Won't be as easy to set up for BB36 from WC32.

If you dont care about how dire the football is, theres certainly a comedic element listening to the mental gymnastics of commentators talking about the "nerve" and "tension" in garbage Arsenal games instead of saying it like it is.

      1. Sir Michael Taker
        • 11 Years

In their defence this is Chelseas game to win and they've been pretty poor. Organised but no attacking threat

I'm not convinced. I still want to keep Thiago & Ekitike from 27, and its then a toss-up between using my few transfers for Thiago > Pedro > Thiago or a 3rd Arsenal in & out before GW31.

I guess if you've got 4 or 5 transfers in hand, or are prepared to keep him longer term, he's worth a crack.
