Matchday 34 is here, which means the final round of the Fantasy Bundesliga season has arrived.

With titles, European places and survival still on the line, there is plenty left to play for heading into the final deadline. So, once again, we’ve asked our experts to reveal their latest teams, transfer plans and captaincy thoughts ahead of the final round of the campaign.

@Big4FPL

NOTES

  • It’s the final week of the Bundesliga season and the end of another Fantasy campaign.
  • With confirmed team news available before the deadline for every side, the main focus will once again be Bayern Munich. Their line-up should provide plenty of opportunities to target upside in the final round of the season.
  • As things stand, my star players are set to be Alejandro Grimaldo, Michael Olise, and Yan Diomande.

NOTES

  • Goalkeepers: Nicolas & Finn Dahmen – Last weekend turned out to be an excellent one for my goalkeepers, especially Nicolas, who produced a huge 310-point haul. This Matchday, he faces Hoffenheim, who are still fighting for the final Champions League spot, so I’m expecting him to face plenty of shots once again. Although Dahmen doesn’t have quite as favourable a fixture, I’ll probably avoid using a transfer on a new goalkeeper, especially given the luxury position my squad is currently in. That said, if I do make a late move there, then Kamil Grabara and Heuer Fernandes would be right at the top of my shortlist.
  • Defenders: Alejandro Grimaldo*, Nico Schlotterbeck, Edmond Tapsoba, Ozan Kabak & Danilho Doekhi – Defence could easily become my biggest headache this Matchday because there are so many options I like. Both Grimaldo and Kabak are completely locked in my team, but the places of Schlotterbeck, Doekhi, and Stefan Posch feel far less secure, even if there isn’t a huge reason to actively sell them. Right now, Tapsoba is my main defensive target. I expect him to be very popular this week, so part of the move is simply protecting rank. The transfer would most likely come at the expense of Posch, which may seem slightly strange considering he faces Heidenheim. However, Heidenheim are in strong form and still desperately need a result to avoid direct relegation, so I can easily see that game becoming open and chaotic. If I end up with a spare transfer, then Vladimír Coufal, David Raum, and Maximilian Mittelstädt are all defenders I’m also considering.
  • Midfielders: Michael Olise*, Jamal Musiala, Christoph Baumgartner, Aleix García & Anton Kade – As Vincent Kompany strongly hinted during the week, Bayern look set to field a full-strength XI against Köln ahead of next week’s DFB-Pokal final. That news immediately secures both Olise and Musiala in my team. At the moment, I prefer Musiala over Díaz as my third Bayern pick, mainly because of how I want to structure my formation. Alongside them, García comes into focus ahead of a favourable home match against Hamburg, where I expect him to collect plenty of build-up points. Meanwhile, both Kade and Baumgartner remain in my side because of their strong underlying data. Kade also offers a useful differential to balance out what is otherwise becoming quite a template-heavy squad. Although my midfield currently feels fairly settled, I still like the look of Ibrahim Maza, Chris Führich, Alexis Claude-Maurice, and Leon Goretzka if they start.
  • Forwards: Harry Kane*, Yan Diomande & Deniz Undav – Choosing Musiala over Díaz as my third Bayern player simplifies the forward line slightly. Because of that, I’ll most likely line up with Kane, Diomande, and Undav up front. I do still have Patrik Schick firmly on my mind. His recent form has been excellent and the underlying numbers fully support it. However, fitting him in would mean sacrificing one of my other Bayer Leverkusen assets or selling either Diomande or Undav, which I’m not especially keen on right now. Outside of Schick, I also think Michael Gregoritsch, Budu Zivzivadze, and Andrej Kramarić could all make strong final Matchday punts.

NOTES

  • There was a small rank drop last week. But, this round suits my strategy perfectly because we get all line-ups before the deadline.
  • I’ll mainly target Bayern players and teams that still have something to play for.
  • The current transfers in are Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Bilal El Khannouss, Maximilian Mittelstädt, and Vladimír Coufal. Kane and Olise simply feel too dangerous to go without.
  • Meanwhile, El Khannouss and Mittelstädt come in for the Stuttgart fixture, with Stuttgart needing a win to secure Champions League football. The same applies to Coufal, as Hoffenheim are still chasing a Champions League place.
  • Making way are Rômulo, Romano Schmid, Said El Mala, Julian Ryerson, and Brown. Most of those players now have very little left to play for, which always raises concerns around motivation levels in the final round.
  • Brown is the exception because his side are still pushing for Europe. However, his points have dipped recently and, from an eye-test perspective, he hasn’t looked as attacking.
  • Right now, my most likely star players are Can Uzun, Michael Olise, and Vladimír Coufal.
  • The formation will remain a 3-4-3, as always.

NOTES

  • Last week was another decent Gameweek, but it still could have been much better. Once again, one of my star players blanked.
  • We’ve finally reached the final Gameweek of the season. It’s been a fun and competitive year overall. Right now, I expect to finish around 1.2k overall and roughly 750th in the Second Chance rankings. However, I’ll still push hard in this final round to try and break into the top 1k and top 500, respectively.
  • This week, I plan to bring in Luis Díaz, Nicolas, Maximilian Mittelstädt, and Aleix García. Making way are Finn Dahmen, Luka Vušković, Leon Goretzka, and Nicolas Jackson.
  • As things stand, my star players will likely be Alejandro Grimaldo, García, and either Yan Diomande or Díaz.
  • Good luck, everyone, and see you next season.

NOTES

  • The plan this week is simple. Target the best fixtures. Back reliable star players. Focus on proven talismans.
  • Overall, the squad looks quite template. However, I don’t really care at this stage of the season. Safe upside feels more important in the final round.
  • There are still plenty of explosive players in the team. Most also still have something to play for.
  • I still have one free transfer left. So, there could still be a late move before the deadline.
  • Good luck, everyone.
