FPL 2026/27: Price change predictions 2

If you’ve not been around in the last few days, you may have missed the rule tweaks and new features for FPL 2026/27.

There aren’t any major, game-transforming changes; certainly not on the scale of the introduction of defensive contribution (DefCon) points last summer.

Here they are…

Meanwhile, there are 11 players who have changed position, including new midfielder Eli Junior Kroupi:

NEW TO FPL?

If you’re an FPL rookie, we’ve got a new section just for you called ‘Tips + Guides’. You can find it via this link or via the ‘Tips + Guides’ tab on the home page, as seen below:

We’ll be adding these guides in the coming hours.

This pre-season article will get a lot busier over the next month, as we build towards the opening weekend in August.

Think there are better options than Gvardiol, Gusto and Munoz but don’t mind them (I’d go Colwill not Gusto as think he’ll play every game)

Jesus better not be Gabriel Jesus?!

Rogers might be a wait and see, maybe Garner and beef up the bench?

      1st draft thread!

      Verbruggen
      Calafiori - Gvardiol - Rodon
      Bruno - Semenyo - Szoboszlai - Stach
      Haaland - Pedro - Solanke

Kinsky - Grimes - van Ewijk - Egan

      Raya 4.0
O'Reilly Porro Konsa De Cuyper 4.0
      Bruno Mbeumo KDH Wilson 4.5
      Haaland Pedro 4.5

Have to play 4-4-2 and don't much like having Man U players but needs must.

Haaland's price is high but because everyone else is less than 10m other than Bruno it seems pretty easy to just have him regardless.

For the guarantee and captaincy option, I think I'd pay up to 18m for him.

    1. H Dog
      • 16 Years

And which Man City attacker would you have otherwise? Without the new manager Semenyo/Cherki/Foden but the uncertainty ruled them all out for me.

Plus avoiding Haaland for who? Watkins? JP? Isak? Not great…

Haaland out is to enable all the good mids.

You'd go Saka, Bruno, Palmer, Semenyo probably. Is it better? I doubt it but it's an option.

See FPL General's no Haaland experiment last season. He did exactly that with that sort of midfield...but if it fails some weeks...which Saka and Palmer often did...and you are up against a Norwegian meat shield of points every week...then as you say Haaland's price is irrelevant.

Szobo at 7m and at least one Liverpool defender feel more of a priority so taking up 9m of budget for a third Liverpool makes me think he might be avoided for other options (Joao Pedro being the stand out)

    Potential bargains:

Kinsky looks like he could be in every team, but don’t discount Leno (price drop despite being in top 10 of GK last year) and Rushworth if he moves to Coventry (great defensive record last year)

Similarly 4m for Bobby Thomas and van Ewijk is the go to for the 5th defender (van Ewijk was very good on throw ins last season), maybe Charlie Hughes for Hull but would rather go for COV initially

Hato is one to keep an eye on - new left back option? Smart move might be find 0.5 more for Colwill

N Williams at 5 feels great value but apart from GW1 his fixtures are bad until GW5, which if you’re paying 5m then I think you’ll want to play them week in week out

Shaw at 4.5 looks ridiculous, but potential for Mazraoui/Dalot to start at left back or United get a left back so he’s in my team but again might need 0.5 more for Maguire

Szobo/Garner/Sarr feel underpriced despite what they did last year so they’re in my team right now

6m for Le Fee and Brobbey means I would advise at least one (prob LF as on pens) but look to transfer out pretty quickly as only 1-3 good and Europe to come

Joao Pedro should be 8 or above, 7.5 when there’s a lack of great options feels like a steal

Hoping uncertainty over whether he would start would mean Osula would be 5.5 but 6 instead, LIV probably means he doesn’t get in my team initially but if he starts he’s one of the first transfers I’d get

Solanke could be nice value at 6.0m. With Senesi playing balls over the top, and a better engine room with Tonali & Fernandes, Solanke will surely get more service next season.

    How are we looking here...

    Kinsky, Palmer

    Gabriel, Kerkez, Aina, Mitchell, Diop

    Bruno, Semenyo, Szoboszlai, Schade, Bobb

    Haaland, Solanke, Kusi-Asare

Initial thoughts - Aina could be a bargain if Glasner plays 5 at the back. Bobb should have right wing nailed down now Wilson is gone. Solanke looks worth a go at 6.0.

    Hincapie Mosquera Spence Konsa Thomas
    Saka Semenyo Cunha Manzambi Sarr
    Haaland Isak 4.5m

First draft. It's alright. I feel like I'm definitely gonna skip Gabriel at 8m. Fernandes at 12m also seems steep when Cunha and Mbeumo save 4m. I like Isak a lot. Fit again, fresh start under new manager, I feel he's primed to rocket to 50%+ ownership if he starts delivering which I fully expect him to this season.

inevitably i'll move a few guys down for flexibility but i like the high-floor midfield approach and feel like i'll do an early WC.

I like Moon Dog’s idea of BB GW2 when Cov has HUL now that all Cov defenders are 4.0 mill.

14pts from the same strat next season. Think I'll do it again.

Grimes is a 5.0m DM who is club captain with 46 apps last season. Maybe could hit defcon. Might be an option for GW2.
van Ewijk (4.0) is apparently a long throw specialist and made 45 apps last season.

Something to mull over for sure. BB is awkward because it's not strong enough to base a WC around - it's not worth that. And putting money on the bench takes away from surrounding weeks, which takes away from anything you earned that week. So targetting that Cov v Hul game feels optimal to me, you can have a skinny bench so it doesn't leech from the other weeks.

its LOCKED, and I'm '100%' 'definitely' not tinkering with it again before GW1

Can Conor Gallagher have a come back season at £5.5m?

Was thinking about this and AI cracks me up:
    AI Overview:
Conor Gallagher, the author, CEO of TAN Books, and host of The Conor Gallagher Show, has 16 children with his wife, Ashley.
If you are instead referring to the English professional footballer Conor Gallagher, he does not have any children.

    Obviously, I have nailed it

    Raya (Steele)
    Calafiori - N.Williams - Shaw (Diop - van Ewijk)
    B.Fernandes - Semenyo - Szoboszlai - Ndiaye (D.Essugo)
Haaland - João Pedro - Solanke

Im trying hard to critisize this but I can see what you've done, similar to a previous draft.

I think ultimately the value mbeumo offers over Bruno is too much; I think last season was an outlier, 12m is too much for me. Solanke is a decent punt, I'm tempted, but also Isak could be hugely underpriced if Iraola works his magic.

      Having Raya is basically cheating.

Mbeumo and Cunha will be heavily rotated this season - we'll have much more games and there's Rashford, Amad and Dorgu pushing for minutes.

JJ Gabriel is also expected to break into the first team this season despite only being 15 at present.

pricing is easy enough to have at least one, probably mostly haaland

      I currently don't.
Have Mbeumo with Haaland Isak and Gyorkes up front.

      Probably will change though.

If everyone’s cheap, then they’re not as cheap as we think. That being said, most drafts will look good all summer because you can get very good players. Official draft number 1.
