With four wins from four, champions Arsenal are continuing where they left off in 2025/26.

This, plus ranking second on our Fixture Ticker between Gameweeks 5 and 11, has Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers naturally wanting to maximise their coverage of the Gunners.

So should a triple-up focus solely on their immense defence, or spread some love to their attackers?

ALL-IN ON DEFENCE?

Looking at the Chief Scout numbers, it’s clear why some are considering the rarely-seen backline trio.

Just one goal conceded in five matches (top-flight and Champions League), while Arsenal are already the Premier League’s best for limiting attempts (36), shots on target (eight), big chances (four) and expected goals conceded (xGC, 2.73, below).

What is the best Arsenal triple-up in FPL? 1

They ended last season as the best in these four categories by quite a long way, with widespread acknowledgement that Mikel Arteta’s defence is supreme. So, by only owning one part of it, FPL managers are likely to drop in all rankings whenever a clean sheet occurs.

SAFER PICKS

FPL Gameweek 11 Scout Picks: Arsenal triple-up

David Raya (£6.0m) and Gabriel Magalhaes (£8.0m) are the most nailed-on picks, but many deem them too expensive for their position.

Although Raya’s 2026/27 price increase wasn’t as dramatic, the Spaniard is perceived to have a six-point ceiling due to only making 1.62 saves per 90 minutes last time. Basically, Arsenal’s defence is so good that it’s restricting him! Yet this didn’t stop Raya from being FPL’s number one goalkeeper (162 points).

Proceeding with Gabriel likely requires the sacrificing of a premium attacker such as Erling Haaland (£15.5m) or Bruno Fernandes (£12.0m). But he consistently brings a high goal threat at Arsenal’s notoriously good set-pieces.

And long-term, especially heading into a busy autumn/winter, it’s beneficial to own the secure minutes of Raya and/or Gabriel.

THE OTHERS

Gakpo, Szoboszlai, Konsa: Buy, keep or sell in Gameweek 4? 3

While Gabriel missed two early big chances, Riccardo Calafiori (£5.8m) delivered attacking returns against Coventry City and Aston Villa.

The Italian’s four penalty area shots mean he’s on an impressive 1.19 expected goal involvement (xGI) and 50% squad selection. The rotation threat of Piero Hincapie (£5.3m) lingers but, pleasing such owners, he got the Champions League start over Calafiori.

Of the others, Ben White‘s (£5.5m) run might be over. He was seen “walking gingerly” in Naples, then holding his groin before Saturday’s half-time removal for the now-fit Jurrien Timber (£6.5m).

It’s very hard to resist new signing Ezri Konsa (£4.5m) at that price. A cheap route into the best backline, he quickly achieved defensive contribution (DefCon) rewards. It’s just a medium-term question of whether he can hold off Cristhian Mosquera (£5.3m), who should be recovered by Gameweek 5, and how many months it’ll be until William Saliba (£5.9m) comes back.

WHICH ATTACKER TO GET?

I could see Saka being benched next gw. Madueke done well in the cup and Saka doesn’t need to play 3 games in 7 days with the squad depth and his injury record. That’s my fear with Saka who has been in and out of my WC draft.

Is Konsa even that nailed with Mosq back soon, international duty and fixture pile up? I see Raya, Gabriel and Calafiori as the safest defensive picks but looking at Gab, Cal, and Konsa treble up potentially.

Saka the best attacker but expect rotation.

He's only the joint or v close to it goal involvement guy in 2026, along with Haaland.

He was in my initial draft and is coming in this week.

100% this. Plus £8m is a weird price-point - most either going down to the 6.5s or up to the 8.5+ picks. Now the season is progressing, picks are becoming clearer, value is being found elsewhere and Forest's fixtures are looking good. Perfect time to jump on him.

I put him Foden and Palmer in my GW1 team and had considered them all successes as they have all brought points in.

Foden has gone now though. On WC this week, considered getting rid of him for Odegaard but will hold off for a couple of weeks.

Goalkeepers bit of a funny one on WC. Think I might keep Kinsky and get Leno to cover some of his harder fixtures. Raya is my other thought but Saka could be a useful captain option further down the line. Cala and Konsa locks.

Everyone seems to ignore Rice these days, solid deliveries all season so far. If you have Szobo then I think Rice is the better alternative unless Wirtz gets benched and Szobo moved to more attacking position. At 7.4 Rice is below value too.

My obvious swap to MGW is one of

    Bruno
    Mbeumo
    Semenyo
    Palmer

I'm thinking of chopping BrunoF here, despite the Fulham game. I think Mbeumo is better at the moment, am I mistaken?

do you have a plan for extra cash from Bruno?

Not right away, I'd have £4.1m ITB towards Haaland

I'm tripled up on Man City so I'd need to use my wildcard to spend it properly. Which I could do next.

      Would drop Semenyo from these.

Have both Bruno and Mbeumo and thinking selling one of them, probably Mbeumo, as Bruno seems like the best point scorer in the long run.

No, you're spot on. Fulham are favourites to win the match, if anything.

        Fair points on Semenyo

Two assists so far but he's got the fixtures

Will see how it goes tonight

I'm really worried about Bruno's quarterback positioning in the last 2 matches - makes so sense either we was so explosive playing higher up vs Ipswich.

So for 1 week only I would chop Bruno, as long as you are able to bring him back on WC6 if we are horribly wrong

With White and Pedro maby not playing, and my weak bench, could I get away with saving WC until the international break?

In that case go White to Konsa, Gvardiol or other max. 6.0 def?

    Verbruggen
    Calafiori White Thomas
    Bruno Mbeumo Tzolis Rogers
    Haaland DCL Pedro

Don't really mind calling on Hull players against a depleted Newcastle. Think the idea of IB WC is overrated though (obscure injury updates, price changes stall, start to feel out of touch... in fact I actively dislike it now)

      Alonso PC is at 1.30.

Seems strange to be ruled out for games with Brazil and then play the weekend. If he was frustrated about not being called up for the World Cup, that’s one way to annoy Ancelotti
