I'm now pondering 10 doublers plus Aguero. Elmohamady as the cheap 5th midfielder. 😮

    Schmeichel
    Ivanovic, Skrtel, Schlupp
    Hazard, Fabregas, Sterling, Henderson, Elmohamady
    Aguero, Vardy

    Subs: Ospina, Giroud, Chester, PVA

Beauty of this is I can swap Fab and Sterling in GW36 for Sanchez and Silva, giving me 3 Arsenal for GW37 and a transfer to swap Vardy for Defoe.

Nice team but not sure you want double Leicester defence or two hull players with one on your bench?

Will be watching silva closely today. Main question on my wc is going with one of silva or fab or trying to squeeze both in. Presume I few will be in the same boat?

Keeping Silva till the end of the season. He has been in sizzling form as of late though, just unlucky to not get returns.

See below re Fab, is he a genuine option?

My current WC team is with both in:

      Davis

      Skrtl, Ivanovic, Schlupp

      Hazard, Sterling, Silva, Fabregas

      Aguero, Kane, Vardy

      Subs: Krul, Bertrand, PVA, Boyd

I'm not so happy with it though. I would prefer to not have Vardy and probably Giroud as I don't like all of my money in midfield.

Your tips for navigating the final few weeks?

    - Don't underestimate the potential of a DGW - but don't get DGWers for the sake of it (Hull players)
    - Don't be scared to take a punt or two - time is running out
    - If you're playing catchup, a captain punt (especially during a DGW) can be very rewarding

      - Hit's are a lot less expensive so don't be scared to take them
      - DGW keepers from small teams can be great for saves (e.g. Schmeicel)
      - People underestimate the value of DGW defenders, two clean sheets and theres 12 points before BAPS.

Don't worry about saving transfers. The more DGWers you have, the more likely you'll have the ones who score big giving you a 100pt+ GW.

Yep that's another great point. A quick look at the stats shows that some relegation-threatened teams e.g. Leicester are basically going all-out-attack. We've also seen that recently with QPR and Villa too.

Don't get players from teams that have nth to play for. Examples would be West Ham, Stoke etc. Higher chances of rotation with managers trying new formations and tactics.

Fully agree with all of those. I'll just add to it by describing it instead as a mentality.

      - Be more aggressive, don't make decisions out of fear but with courage.
      - Back yourself, don't look to backtrack on decisions made unless you are willing to concede defeat and accept the lost ground on those decisions. Sometimes patience pays off, this is a courageous choice.
      - Even if you are winning the conservative approach can open the door for those who are chasing, stay ahead of the game and you'll stay ahead of your mini league.

Get lucky. There's no substitute for that. The nearer we get to the end of season the more of a punt every transfer becomes because the time for decisions to pay off (or not) gets smaller and smaller.

Agree with this, one of the most important factors in deciding between how well serious players do in comparison with other serious players. Some people give themselves handicaps by making poor and questionable decisions, but the vast majority on here don't.

    Time to go all in.
Krul, Bertrand, Erik, Mane -> Courtois, Skrtel, Sterling, Hendo for -12?
    Would leave me with
    Courtois
    Skrtel Ivan Clyne
    Sterling Hendo Silva Hazard
    Kane Kun Vardy

I feel like the hit would pay off, big part of it with just minutes played points.

I'd skip the Krul to Courtois move and do Erik to Fabregas instead of Sterling. Save you 4pts and gives you a nailed attacking player instead of a defensive player who may get rotated. Also think Sterling could be out of sorts. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets rested or underperforms generally

I'm feeling quite yolo though and don't mind taking -12 at this point. Fabregas might be a good idea, so maybe Erik, Mane -> Fabs, Hendo and Krul, Berty -> Mignolet, Skrtel? Doubling up on Liverpool defence seems reasonable.

I have gotten the same front 8 but with Vardy instead of Kane, but I have a definite way of getting Sanchez & Rambo with Giroud . It has meant sacrificing Kane & Skrtl, but I presume attack is the way to go in that DGW.

Just caught up on yesterday - Leighton Baines is a complete ninny, that's twice he's turned down a penalty whilst in my team, probably costing me 9 points each time. What's the issue? Do we think he has the yips?

I don't know but from I can gather it's his fault and tbh I'm rather cross with him. Jags stated in a post match interview that Lukaku is now the number one pen taker but as he was off the pitch Barkley thought he'd have a go a Baines being Mr Nice said nothing. Meanwhile you've got Coleman running across the pitch having a go at Baines for letting Barkley have go.
It's bad from form from all of them including Martinez who is danger of being bullied by his players at this rate. All this stuff coming out like Lukaku telling the manager that they want to play etc. Imagine doing that with Moyes in charge! Lol.

Yeah, I'm annoyed at Baines and Martinez mostly, can't believe what's happened to be honest.

I can't bring myself to do that. Pages and pages of "LOL@Baines owners" no doubt

I was reading bbc text updates and my heart sank when I saw Everton Miss Pen, so I was actually quite relieved when I saw he was shunted off pen duties

Even worse - Daniel had Baines and filled several pages bemoaning his bad luck!

What was once possibly the most "together" dressing room for the last 10 years looks to be falling apart in the just 18 months under Roberto. It's a shame as I had high hopes for him

Yep funny thing is the poor season doesn't bother me. It was always expected with the first go in Europa. It's the indiscipline that genuinely worries me. It's all about the third season for a new manager IMO. That is when he will be judged at Everton.

I know, the pen situation is very frustrating, just from a fan perspective. Baines really needs to grow a pair. It's been a very odd season! I'm a little more sympathetic to the the lukaku situation. He just needs the ball deliver infront, to run onto, but the general lack of fluency means he's going early and constantly blown for offside. I think it's taken this much to get the message over to Martinez, who just has plan a. And no, none of this would have happened under moyes!

My two cents, Martinez wants lukaku in the goals to justify the outlay of bringing him to Everton. Baines New haircut might also have something to do with it, he's not as rugged 70s as he used to be

Looking ahead to next GW, I am likely to be chasing a c. 40 point deficit. Should I wait for the single GWs to gamble the captaincy or should I go for a season defining (one way or the other ) non Hazard (c)?

With so much uncertainty around striker options for the DGW, what formation are you eyeing up?
The only striker I'm certain of for DGW34 is a single match player - Kun.
    Options I'm considering
    - Second Che defender (Ivan / Terry)
    - Fabregas
    - Moreno
    - Hendo + 1 of Sterling / Coutinho

This will end up in a 442 or even 451, most likely.

      Nope 3-5-2 for me

      Hend Sterling Cambiasso Haz Fab

      Murray (maybe Vardy) Aguero

Have Courtois, Terry and Hazard and 2 FT. Want to bring 3 Liverpool players for a -4 hit. Dont believe to Hull and Leicester DGW's. What is the best combo :

    1. Moreno, G. Johnson and Sterling in for Alderweireld, Kompany and Eriksen
    2. Moreno, Henderson and Sturridge in for Kompany, Eriksen and Giroud
    3. Moreno, Henderson and Skrtel in for Kompany, Baird and Eriksen
    4. Any suggest (Kompany and Eriksen needs to go) ?

Am I good 2 go or maybe change something here for -4 or even -8???

    Fabianski
    TERRY - SKRTEL - SCHLUPP
    HENDERSON - HAZARD - Silva - Sanchez
    REMY* - Aguero - Kane

Subs: Panti - Boyd - Toby - PVA

1.5M itb for Remy -> Giroud move the week after...

*Boyd(LEI) first on the bench If Remy won't play which is not so bad I think

    Any suggestions???
