Our Friday lunchtime assessment of the PlayON Player Price List arrives once again. As always, we offer a couple of picks per position: one essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

PlayON are now running a number of different deadlines so Fantasy managers can have as much benefit of seeing teamsheets as possible. Tomorrow, for example, managers can pick teams for the weekly game (which includes all ten matches on Saturday and Sunday) and the single match game (Leicester versus Newcastle) up to 12.45.

Managers can pick teams for all the 15.00 & 17.30 kick-offs up to 15.00 tomorrow. Their Daily game on Sunday, which includes two matches, has a deadline of 13.30. With free entry tournaments and guaranteed pots in all games, there’s plenty for Fantasy managers to take advantage of – you can pick up to three different teams for each game now at www.PlayON.co

Goalkeepers – Adrian
Available for 7.1m, the West Ham goalkeeper made seven saves against QPR last week, including a penalty stop that earned his side a second clean sheet in the last five matches. Adrian (9% ownership) could be set for another shut-out this weekend as the Hammers play host to a Burnley side that’s scored just once in their last seven outings. Simon Mignolet (7.7m) is our essential stopper as Liverpool play host to QPR. Owned by 7% of PlayON managers, the Belgian has nine clean sheets in the last 14 Gameweeks and may well be poised for further returns, with the R’s failing to score in each of their last two.

Defenders – Chris Smalling
The United centre-half looks a strong shout for points at both ends of the pitch this week as West Brom roll up to Old Trafford. Smalling has already scored four times this term – with three strikes in his last eight appearances – and with the Baggies failing to score in two of their last four on the road, he looks excellent value at 7.6, with an 6% ownership. We’re keeping faith with Leicester skipper Wes Morgan (6.4m), who earned back-to-back clean sheets prior to the midweek loss to Chelsea. The 17%-owned Morgan has also chipped in with a goal and assist in his last six and now faces a Newcastle side without a goal in their last four away matches.

Midfielders – Esteban Cambiasso
Priced at 7.0m, the Argentine has played an influential role in Leicester’s sensational fight for survival. Cambiasso’s ability to read the game, his combination of defensive (providing tackle and interception points) and set-piece duties make him a budget pick that is likely to provide a steady stream of points within the PlayON scoring matrix. Currently sitting in 12% of sides, he looks key to the Foxes prospects of condemning visitors host Newcastle to an eight straight defeat. We have to opt for Eden Hazard as Chelsea go in search of the victory that would secure the title. The Belgian is far from budget friendly – at a price of 14.3m and owned by a massive 54% – but, having scored in each of his last two at the Bridge, he’ll fancy his chances of netting against a Palace side that have one clean sheet in 14 matches under Alan Pardew.

Forwards – Christian Benteke
The front man has led Aston Villa’s recent resurgence with eight goals in seven league appearances, including a hat-trick in their last match at Villa Park. In his last four, Benteke has had more touches in the box than any other forward and with seven shots on target (worth 200 points each in PlayON) has managed over 50% shot accuracy in that period. Priced at just 8m and owned by 12% of PlayON managers, we’ve selected the big Belgian as our left-field pick due to the form of a visiting Everton side, though it’s worth noting that the Toffees have conceded in five consecutive away fixtures. Sergio Aguero is once again the essential striker. Priced at 15.0m and currently selected by 28% of PlayON managers, the Argentine scored his fourth goal in three appearances against Villa last weekend and prepares for a re-match with a Spurs defence that he breached four times back in mid-October.

Head over to www.PlayON.co to get your teams in for the free entry and guaranteed pot games.

Cheekily reposting, with all due thanks to Ruth_NZ.

Take this last opportunity for a Bertrand/Clyne double up before shipping one out next week; or drop one to the bench in favour of Schlupp?

    All thoughts muchly appreciated.

Somehow I don't see Southampton keeping a cleanie this week. Starting Terry, Wasi and Bellerin, with Bertrand as my first option on the bench.

It's a hard one to call: Newcastle and Sunderland are two of the most ineffectual teams in the league right now.

Yeah that seems to be the best tactic but I don't want to captain the same player that he does. Could go very left field and ignore both of them...

I honestly believe Aguero is the best bet and in all likelihood Dufflinks will be conservative and put the armband on Hazard.

My Nugent pick before Swans game was the first attempt - not great!

I've got several diffs on Simon but no Aguero is the biggest diff of all. I'm literally just trying to make sure I have as many diffs as I can as its the only chance - but obviously odds are getting longer as each GW passes..and obviously Nugent will have to go this week...

Ha that was very unlucky. Vardy has helped reduce the gap. Need some more from him against Newcastle and hope Kane blanks.

No Aguero could be a masterstroke. Something crazy needs to happen soon for us to have a chance. I just want to be in with a realistic chance on the final day. Would be so exciting.

              I was 50 50 Nugent or Vardy 🙁

Would be nice to get within touching distance - and the guys in the top 10 or so with us could come strong too. I guess one of us if not could get England No1 as consolation too..

Good luck - just not too much 🙂

I see we had pretty similar wildcards too. I went benteke over vardy :/ and mcshane over duff(benched him though). Also dropped Kane, but dropped Silva too, so i could have a nice slump of money itb.

Cant' see any decent transfer-choices for your team atm, with only one FT. So would do the boring thing and save, and maybe look for differentials next week. Don't think there is a captain that points out rly this gameweek, so would just go with the one you think will get the most points, and hope Marchid picks someone else.

35 points is absolutely doable, imo, especially as there are so many captaincy-alternatives for the upcoming weeks, and wouldnt be too worried about having similar team, even though it does make catchin up harded, of course.

Anyone thinking of taking the armband away from Hazard?

    Giroud?
    Aguero?

It could be a bit nervy and cagey with Chelsea being able to win it. Then again, they could concede then have to attack and run riot.

I agree he is a better pick. But 'head and shoulders' makes it sound like he is obviously miles ahead. He isn't.

For the last 6 games they have played:

                Sanchez (11.2) - 31 points
                Ozil (8.6) - 31 points
                Ramsey (8.9) - 39 points

Considering the 2.5 million price difference, I don't think Sanchez is immediately a better pick over Ozil or Ramsey.

Fair point. But I just think the points ceiling for Alexis is so much higher. He always has the potential to explode, especially in a dgw. Would be dangerous to go without him if concerned about overall rank imo. All three are good options and I may end up with 2 of the 3 instead of Giroud

Bertrand/Moreno for Monreal? If Moreno, then I'd have to choose between Silva/Fab for Øzil. If Bertrand I can do Sterling-> Øzil. Thinking of getting Øzil this round, then Monreal/Giroud in the next two rounds. Already have Sterling, Hazard, Bolasie. Any tips?

Any other Saints def? Bertie seems to be the option even though i would much prefer to ditch Moreno.

No, defence: Ivan, Bertrand, Wollscheid, Moreno, Naughton. Got Panti and Myhill as GK's

With Moreno we're no longer sure whats happening so i would get rid of him over Bertie who will start. Then you can make your decision over Silva/Fab. Chelsea prob won the league by that point so Fab will be easier to drop.

Since you already have two Arsenal covers, you can afford yourself a punt on Vardy for this weekend and then sell him for Giroud next week, when Arsenal are at home against Swansea.

    D) Ozil, Hazard, Fabregas, Vardy

Get Øzil instead, more safe than Ramsey I think. Øzil creates a lot for Arsenal too, and is guaranteed to play

Arsenal's defence is pretty solid lately. Only N'Doye can provide some danger for Hull imo.
For Morgan, I'm a bit worried with De Jong now he's back for Newcastle, could create some chances for Newcastle.

I'll leave this here, interpret away. For the last 6 games they have played:

    Sanchez (11.2) - 31 points
    Ozil (8.9) - 31 points
    Ramsey (8.6) - 39 points

2.6 million price difference between Sanchez and Ramsey. (Also, Ramsey only played four minutes of one of his matches)
