Gameweek 37 finally comes to its conclusion this evening as Arsenal take on Sunderland at the Emirates. Tonight’s match remains crucial for both sides. The Gunners need a win to clinch third and potentially allow Arsene Wenger to rotate at home to West Brom on Sunday ahead of the FA Cup final, whilst Sunderland need a point to seal their survival for another season.

Arsenal’s 1-1 draw at United saw all of their big-hitters fail to deliver the goods in the first match of the double. Alexis Sanchez, Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey were afforded significant investment prior to the deadline and their new batch of owners will be desperate for the Gunners to turn on the style. All four start this evening, although Arsene Wenger does make two changes – Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs come in for Francis Coquelin and Nacho Monreal. Laurent Koscielny is fit to start in central defence, despite a recent flu virus scare.

Sunderland arrive on a four-match unbeaten run, though, and have conceded more than a single goal just once in seven matches under Dick Advocaat. Can the Black Cats record a third straight shut-out for the first time this term and reward owners of Costel Pantilimon and Patrick van Aanholt again? The Black Cats make just one change – Adam Johnson starts on the flank as Liam Bridcutt misses out through injury.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

We've been bored to death by the most desperate teams for the last 3 home games - swansea, sunderland and ...chelsea 😉

Who'd have thought Van Aanholt would have been the best captain choice of my double gameweekers? 🙂

You do all realise this means Arsenal have got 3rd place secured over United... You can take the team out of 4th place, but you cant stop the manager being position defensive.

He had a job to do with the resources he had and did it in such a dignified way. Look at how Pearson reacted to the same pressure.

What a dull gameweek. Leagues sewn up ages ago, overall rank nothing special and little prospect of moving up. The second half of this season has been less enjoyable than any time in the last five seasons for me. The last few weeks have been especially uneventful.

Arsenal lads were on the ball more so more passes completed. I know where you're coming from though!

Centre backs in particular have a lot of the ball, but simply playing to me to you passes to each other or the deepest midfielder shouldn't really get high points especially seeing as sunderland had more clear opportunities than arsenal and defensively they were cut open a few times. Thats the game tho i guess

So. Now it's affirmed. The worst GW ever. FFS, I took a hit to get triple Arsenal and would have actually scored more without making a single transfer, let alone taking that hit.
