By his own admission, Cesc Fabregas had the “worst first half” against West Ham on Saturday. Certainly, when a home win for Arsenal passes by without Fantasy Premier League Bonus Points for the skipper, you know that something is wrong.

A paltry 3 point Gameweek return for Fabregas left those who had played wildcards or spent points on recruiting him, feeling rather hollow; particularly given that the he was awarded the FPL captaincy by the majority of his owners. Those who resisted the Fabregas pull meanwhile, can feel somewhat smug by his return given that he later revealed that his hamstring remains a concern.

So just how badly did Fabregas perform in relation to his peers and his own high standards?

Very soon our Members will be able to analyse weekly Opta data so that player performance can be measured on a Gameweek basis; we’re testing that functionality right now. That form of analysis immediately comes into play when examining the potential of Fabregas in the light of the West Ham showing…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Personally don't see the point in bringing Chamakh in. There was an article on here a while back which showed that his playing style wasn't one which would bring him excess goals/assists.

And Bendt and RvP are coming back in.

Good point as there does seem to be some discrepencies between Fantasy Tools and FISO.

Maybe a little simplistic but does one tend to be more accurate than the other?

      Cheers.

I've got Malouda, Nani, O'Shea, Boswinga all with doubts over them for the weekend.

I may be looking to swap O'Shea & Boswinga for Ferdinand & Alex over the next couple of weeks.

There will always be some doubts about them starting but hopefully not as much as with O'Shea & Bos.

same but no bos (although i had an eye on him :))

alex and ferd should be much better options, providing man u start picking up clean sheets, which surely they will!

Well well well, that was enjoyable. Both teams clearly really wanted to win.

Inzaghi must be one of the most natural goal scorers ever. He can literally do nothing else - but at 37 he still scores against Real Madrid.

Also first time I've been disappointed with Özil. He was not in this game at all, although he was all right the few times he had the ball.

Bosingwa owners be worried. Ivanovic is far too good to be on the bench.

Okay, maybe a fully fit (and I mean fully fit) Ferdinand is a better all round defender....

But Alex is top, top quality IMO.

you think the 3 (Alex, Ivan, Bos.) might rotate between the 2 spots depending on fixtures?

I can't imagine us freely rotating the centre back slots, stability is key. If I had it my way we'd line up Ivanovic Alex Terry Cole in virtually every game. But obviously it's not up to me.

but clearly Bos. is gonna get some starts, so doesn't that mean that Ivan will occasionally play CB?

Possibly. Alex, Terry and Ivanovic are all exceptional defenders, and more importantly centre backs, who each deserve to be in the team...

I'm sticking with Alex though, he should play the majority of games.

Its so depressing watching RTE. They literally take the joy out of watching football.

Every team is crap according to them and no top players exist. I actual prefer Sky now.

    What old jealous men.

According to TalkSport this afternoon, Gareth Bale is the best player in the world. Mind you, it was Darren Gough saying this.....

He should try becoming the best left winger in the league first. After that maybe....
