Having been stalled by the international break and a glamorous trip back to Manchester, I take my seat alongside Mark in the studio once again, desperately wrestling for air time against the prolific gabber spewed from the ScoutCast host. Mark tries to be on his best behaviour in this episode, knuckles wrapped by a frustrated listener deprived of my pearls of wisdom by his constant interruptions, you can sense the intense effort as Mark holds his silence.

It’s not easy; once again we’ve a contentious issue to discuss – Rooney’s dubious assist back in Gameweek three still nags away at those without the folically challenged hot-shot. The new assist ruling gets the ScoutCast treatment then, accompanied by the usual half-arsed analysis of the Gameweek fixture list and the likely protagonists involved.

Click here to see if Mark holds his tongue.

i might have to gamble on it.

or chop defence down to 3 jagielka - boswingwa - kompany (simpson/senderos) and play klasnic up front..

          any thoughts..?

brought it up earlier, thinking of suarez out for RVP - just had a look at the run of fixtures for both teams, although Arsenal has better fixtures but they do also have extra games for Champions League in the next 6 gameweeks - factoring this in, do ppl think RVP will outscore Suarez in this 6 game run?
    Thanks

if you have silva/nasri in your midfield, might not be a bad idea to get rid of Dzeko for RVP - was thinking that myself but cant afford it - I have reservations on getting rid of Suarez as i still think he will print points.

Cheers mate, Thinking Hunt is a good option had Jarvis but thinnk even if he does play he'll be subbed after 55-65 mins. Ade is a risky choice, that could pay off. Hunt is on some free kicks and at the heart of attacking play, due a goal soon.

I like it alot, especially the safety of Rooney, Silva and RVP mixed with the strong potential of Ade and Arteta.

Brunt and Hunt are good 6m-ers and Bosingwa, Kompany plus one of new/sun/wolves cheapies is a classic move.

Us Wolves supporters are in the highly unusual position of being reasonably happy with our defense ATM 🙂

It makes us feel uneasy to even contemplate the likes of Stearman, Berra and Ward as nailed on, reliable stalwarts.

          Johnson has transformed things.

So to answer your question; instinctively I'd lean towards the more attacking player - Ward - in this case. I just can't see Mick ever dropping him. He never stops singing his praises and to be fair, he's proved an incredibly versatile player, who can play up front, on the wing or in defence (sort of) 😉

Although they got similar points per game last season, Nasri got 10 goals to Silva's 4 and this year goals = BPs whereas last year Silva got lots of his BPs for playing pretty football. Based on that I am going Nasri as long as he seems to be playing.

Nasri was on penalties for a bit though, (and he got really lucky with the amount of pens that Arsenal were awarded when he was on them). From New Years Day onwards, Nasri was poo. He did nothing except the goal against Spurs, really dismal form.

However, it could all be completely different when he plays for City.

Is Brunt on WBA pens? I know that Odem took some at the end of last season but that was because he was going for a club scoring record.

I seem to remember Brunt scoring well FPL wise at home last season but not great away, so going to go off gut feeling and leave him for a couple of games.

I seem to recall Brunt having a long stretch of assists, that came over consecutive games, both home and away. After that he then did nout till the last few games of the season, doing well in the home fixtures at the end.

Morning all, interesting to see Arteta rising and not Dzeko. I’ve played my wildcard at the mo and this is what i’m thinking. Can you let me know what you think.

        Given, (Vorm)
Jose Enrique, Bosingwa, Simpson / Brown, (De Laet)
        Silva, Young, Arteta, Brunt, (Dyer)
        Rooney, Dzeko, Suarez

It's probably the best no-RVP team you can get, nice work. But I worry about no-RVP teams.

Who would you rather have for the next 5-10 gameweeks:

        A) Dzeko & Walcott
        or
        B) Rooney & Ramsey

I heard that Ramsey wasn't nailed on, but then in 6 gameweeks time will Dzeko still be playing week-in, week-out?

Go with A in my opinion, but don't necessarily commit to them for 10 gameweeks.

        Mata - Arteta - Jarvis - Petrov - Brunt
        Rooney - Dzeko - Suarez

Like the balance of the side, not convinced by baines myself at his price

personally i would dowgrade baines to Kompany (who i can see coming close to baines score overall with the number of clean sheets + bonus for city) then you could use the remaining cash to upgrade either another defender or a mid.

        Given (Vorm)
Kompany - J Enrique - Bosingwa (Simpson, De Laet)
Barry - Silva - Brunt - Petrov (Dyer)
        RVP - Suarez - Rooney

0.2 in bank (0.3 if Dzeko rises)

Going with Silva instead of Nasri (for Nasri's injury and Silva's proven quality)

Not great. No need for two Arsenal midfielders. Just keep Arteta. Get rid of Ramsey for someone cheap and upgrade Agbonlahor to someone better. Or maybe get Holt and get a better midfielder.

Arsenal & Villa have easy run of games, which is why I wanted to keep Ramsey & Gabby.
Other options would be Bentner & Taarbt?

        1. WHy is everyone going for Vorm/Given combo. Yes, both are good FPL picks in their own right, but they dont rotate well at all?
        2. Which is best value for money? Arteta or Walcott?
        3. IS it too big a risk to downgrade rooney to hernandez to strengthen midfield?
        4. Simpson still a certain starter?

          1) Becuase they are both good shot stoppers (and Ruddy got suspended so a lot of people jumped over), rotation of GK’s is not something a lot of people do.
          2) Too early to call but Arteta gets my vote (if he stays fit)
          3) I think so – Defence is the money saver this season IMO
          4) Should be but you’ll only know after a couple of games if you want to be certain…
