With the season now in full swing, we begin to adjust our sights when it comes to the statistical analysis available to our Members. We’re set to focus on specific players and teams a good deal more from now on.

Today’s article is a case in point – all eyes were on Mikel Arteta at the Emirates this weekend and Fantasy managers will have been keen to assess how he settled amongst his new team-mates and, indeed, how he fared when it comes to the key performance statistics.

We delve into his ICT Index figures then, drilling down into the Opta data to investigate how Arteta at Arsenal compared to his typical Everton displays of last season, and assess his potential from this point.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Captaincy Messi -> Ronaldo is a good shout I reckon.
    Hopefully the points will show correctly soon, but by my reckoning I've got 35 points with Nagatomo, Jones, Hazard and Ronaldo (C) still to play, so I'm happy enough with that. Now for the tricky decisions of whether to sub in for 2 pointers.
    Much as I like being able to do it, it's still frustrating to make what looks like a straightforward change only for it to backfire with a red card or missed penalty.

      If the number next to a players name exceeds 100% then a player will probably rise. Same goes with fallers. They all rise at a set time which is in the early morning and a player can only rise once a day.

            A guy whose username was buggu (the current one is an imposter) used to make all sorts of predictions, some crazy, some less so. Whenever a crazy one came off, he would post a link to his prediction and it became known as a 'buggu mark' Of course he never linked most of his posts...

            We used to have a dude called buggu on here, he still comes back sometimes. He was the king of the pefrect hindsight prediction (e.g. "why did I captain Fabregas? I said that the PA announcer would call his car number plate out during the first half and he'd have to leave the pitch to move his car as it was blocking in an ice cream van in the corner of the car park. If you don't believe me I'll find the post")

            buggu evidence day was one of the better FFS days. he disappeared for hours searching for evidence then came back with a couple of old posts which basically proved nothing

    I see that RvP scored from a Walcott through ball tonight. That would have been 11 points pre-bappage for me if they'd done that in the much easier game vs Swansea. Can't trust anyone in my FPL team to do a job properly.

    Can I please get some advice - is it better to have a better defence or attack in FPL?

    I.e.

    Given

    Bosingwa - Gabbidon - R Taylor

    Mata - Young - Dyer - Silva

    Rooney - Aguero - Adebayor

    Thoughts please? Not too sure whether or not to go all out attack, or to go good defence?

          A mix of the two. You want the cheapest starting defenders from top 4 teams like Bosingwa and tough defensive teams like Stoke. Have one 4.0 cheapie like Simpson and then work on the attack.

      attack is most important. Having defenders who will pick up points and rotate well are important though.

          I would go second, but I think the defence is too strong.

          You need at least one, preferably two 6.0M ish defenders, (komp and bos are the obvious). Then one or two 5.0M(Warnock, Shawcross etc), capable of playing most matches but needs a little rotation. And finally you can get away with up to two cheapos.

          this is all my opinion

              I think the assist rules as they were last season are better than 'straight pass to goalscorer or nada'. That rule you suggest would make the game so sour to play when you know your player in reality assisted the goal but you can't get it because it took the slightest deflection possible.

        Hey guys, first year playing in the Champions League FF.

        Just wondering if it would make sense for me to switch my captain from Messi to Dzeko since Messi only got 5pts for the day? Seems the best choice out of who I have left to play but I'm not sure if there is a risk I am unaware of since I'm kind of new to the rules.
