With the season now in full swing, we begin to adjust our sights when it comes to the statistical analysis available to our Members. We’re set to focus on specific players and teams a good deal more from now on.

Today’s article is a case in point – all eyes were on Mikel Arteta at the Emirates this weekend and Fantasy managers will have been keen to assess how he settled amongst his new team-mates and, indeed, how he fared when it comes to the key performance statistics.

We delve into his ICT Index figures then, drilling down into the Opta data to investigate how Arteta at Arsenal compared to his typical Everton displays of last season, and assess his potential from this point.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

The amount of price drops this season is crazy. Is it my imagination or are there way more than last year?

People give up faster on their players at the start of the season. Also more active people now, alot of the casual players will quit soon.

I suppose. It's a major pain though. It's forcing me to do early transfers just to preserve team value

Yes the prices are more volatile this year. I lost on NZog and Suarez in the last few days.

Hasn't there been talk about FPL tweaking the price change rules, so that a player just needs to hit their original NTI/O again to rise/fall twice. Would make sense given my poor old Nzog is now 7.3!

Yeah, I think that might be the case. It looks like my poor ol' Timmy Cahill is heading for his third drop. Crazy when he got an assist last week and a home game vs Wigan coming up.
I've Hughes also, who is def dropping tonight.

It's counterproductive for the game as it's encouraging people to transfer in the same players. No longer is it a good idea to keep patience. I mean look at Suarez, 2 unlucky blanks and he takes a fall.

I suppose that's what the site wants though, more people logging in checking on their players regularly and making transfers.

Tbh i've never liked any aspect of the transfer rises & falls. It just means anoraks with very little footballing knowledge check a website, see who'll rise/fall and make their transfers accordingly, build up a strong value with popular players and they're pretty much guaranteed a top 100,000 finish at least.
Also, it'll often force you to make transfers early so you can afford whoever, days before the GW and then you have to pray the player doesn't get injured in between.. so you have to get lucky.

Yeah... I try not to be too affected by it. Sinclair for example I still think will come good so haven't considered selling him.

Sessegnon however it might be time to get rid, but he is on penalties now so i'll let him play vs Stoke.

My first year playing this champions league fantasy football. Really like the subs idea.
In future an fpl should allow a player to play one sub, that would otherwise be benched? Have that Instead of this autosub thing. I know it wouldn't suit the casual player. But the casual player has the advantage of captaining Rooney so it all levels out! 🙂

I think the sub system was nice in the world cup game, and works ok in the CL, but I wouldn't like it in FPL.

They've f*cked around with what was a winning formula too much already.

It works for the CL game because the games are split over 2 days evenly. That doesn't happen in the PL, in fact it would imbalance the game as most of the big sides play on Sunday more often.

He did play well. BUT, he was up against what the general concesus says is the worst left back in the game ie Raylor.

Plus, its same old same old SWP that he has always been - pace, trickery, able to beat a man but NO consistent final deliverable, be that shot or cross......

        Sense, at last.

It was a classic SWP performance. Flattering to deceive and ultimately failing to deliver anything in terms of goals and assists. And you're right, Raylor is an abysmal defender.

Very happy about having Taarabt over SWP.

You could argue that he was just "resting" them, but I for one admire AVB balls for starting none of Terry, Lamps and Anelka

Some manager had to start doing it sooner or later

Lets be honest, by the time it comes to Saturday Frank is probably exhausted having to get up and make toast for Christine at 4am everyday before she goes to Daybreak

I hope he was resting Anelka. He was by far our most dangerous player when he came on. Hope it's a Mata-Torres-Anelka forward three on Sunday, Sturrirge doesn't impress me whatsoever.

Would still like Terry in the team, so long as Luiz play alongside him.

Lampard can go f*ck himself as far as I'm concerned.

when arsenal start playing well he wont be in line for bps as there should be other goalscorers to take them off him. if he holds off andre santos for another game or 2 might switch bosingwa for him (if bosingwa himself starts getting rotated a bit)

And Cech was a certain defensive starter for Chelsea, that I was hoping would pick up cleannies. I don't mind paying for that rather than rotating hot defenders every week (like Bosi soon). de Gea is cheaper, and they have better fixtures coming up though.. Just not impressed with the men in front of him.

Really AP? If you're in that price bracket wouldn't you go for Taarabt? And for a buck cheaper you can have Petrov who will cross the same amount as SWP with more promising strikers on the end of them.

Even though Taarabt has been in the bonus i'm sticking to my guns on him being too many step overs and not enough anything else. Petrov - been there before, and he did bugger all for weeks for me last year. I'll probably give SWP 3 or 4 weeks, get annoyed and settle for bartons odd assist and BPs.

I think you're right on Taarabt. SWP looks the best option I'm just not sure I'd spend 6.4 on him. Have you got Jarvis, surely he's better in that price bracket?

I've never been on the Petrov wagon before, but I think I'll take a ride. You know that he'll cross incessantly, and he does have people who can finish up front. SWP doesn't.

as long as he feels he can make a difference to the score swp will work his heart out. free role and someone who can finsh will work wonders. maybe not back in the england fold but deff. knocking on the door.

if it's a choice between swp or barton then it has to be swp

Holt is a donkey. A fat, panting, on his last legs donkey. Next to useless

Probably the second option. Taraabt has under delivered so far but he was the best player in the championship by a MILE last season and players far worse than him have moved up and done the business

I reckon he will come good once this basically completely overhauled QPR team gels
