Our usual post-Gameweek article for members arrives this evening as we delve deeper into the data for the first round of fixtures. Leicester’s two-goal hero, Man City and Southampton’s chief creators, Swansea’s improved goal threat and an eye-catching cameo from Arsenal’s Chilean all come under analysis.
Walcott(c) too risky? Or a nice gamble as Sven would say?
I would say too risky
Too risky for me. If he was nailed on to start then 100% would go for it, but with the doubt I'd say avoid
if you are giving him the last change, go for it
i cap benteke, if he blank again out he go for kunToo risky, potential for a big fat 2-pointer from your (c) there...
Was there a Mr Optimistic?
🙂 Surely he'll start after the loss against West Ham? Surely Arsenal can score a few against leaky Palace?
Yeh you might be right - just not worth for me, too risky
Greed is good
Which 3?
Darmian Alder Cedric Gomez OxfordMiddle three
First three
Darmian, Cedric, Gomez
This is what I love about this game, everyone thinks differently!!! 3 different responses from 3 different people!!!

Whoops...miissed QPR's post on the last page!
He did get their first.....although I prefer your formatting 🙂
Do you have a source? Your list has Man City (QPRs doesn't) - also you have United at different time.
Interesting, I wonder which is right!
Celtic?
Van Dijk?
No Arsenal, would have loved to hear about Wally and Sanchez
Is it a deffo we wont get an Arsenal presser now?
Normally Friday's at 9AM, with updates via Arsenal.com at some point on Thursday's.
Thanks very much mate!
I assume Wenger doesn't normally openly confirm if specific players are going to get a start though, e.g. Walcott for example, since you're an Arsenal fan.
??No, it's very doubtful we'll be any the wiser on Theo, but we might get useful information on Alexis, as his starting position is only in doubt due to fitness.
Thought as much... gut it is then!
Come on Wally!!!
Cheers mate
BBC has LVG at 12:15?
Do you watch all of these Demi?
😀
two rivals have taken a - 8 to get in Aguero.
Should I follow suit or ride it out for one week and take a -4 to get him next week?
Team is: Ruddy
Azpili / Merte / Targett
Mane / Ozil / Hazard / Sterling
Benteke / Rooney / Wilson
Subs: Schmeichel / Huth / Francis / Fletcher
CheersDo you think that Aguero will get 12pts against Chelsea? If so then its a good move. If not wait a week yet...
somone once told me "only take a hit if you're certain that you'll get more points"

...FORE
I fancy Lowry or Day e/w
Surely Lowry will have been on the poss all week! Day's always there or thereabouts. Would like if he bagged it...
It's all in the hips... It's all in the hips...
Dustin Johnston
But he will probably blow a 5 shot lead in the last holeVery tough.
The front runners all have big claim (Jason Day; Bubba Watson; Jordan Spieth; Justin Rose and of course if Rory is fit)
I'm on Koepka (40/1) and Paul Casey (66/1)

Well not as Sven would say! He took him the World Cup and never took him off the bench once!! Haha 🙂
But yeah, I think he could way show his explosive side this week. I'm so tempted to do the same, and I have Benteke.Post fail!!! 🙁
Thanks!
My pleasure!
GTG?
Ruddy
Azpi Gomez Cedric Bellerin
Hazard Mane Walcott
Rooney Benteke Sakho
Butland Huth Ritchie Wanyama
1m ITB, 1FT
Who to captain?Ritchie over Bellerin for me.
Probably Tekkers.
Spurs fans / voyeurs
Moussa Dembele playing in the AM trio for 5.5m ........ is he worth a cheeky punt?Don't see him scoring much in that position and likely to be dropped
Lamela is the problem there, and Dembele has never been great FPL wise.
I don't understand why he doesn't play centrally, though. There's been so much talk of Lamela being shipped that i did not see him as a threat
OTOH they were supposed to be signing the young fella (aren't they all) from LyonI haven't seen any reputable sources citing Lamela leaving, personally.
And I know nothing about this young fella, but I'd guess he is just a backup for Kane, rather than genuinely fighting for a starting berth.
This weekend only - would Sterling (CHE) outscore Ayew (NEW), if so by how many points?
Nope Ayew by 3
way too early to tell with sterling, he looked great GW1 but has history of losing focus in big games (except vs City...)
I'd say Ayew will get more chances this weekI don't think he would, I'd say they both score 3.
Don't think either SWA or MCI will keep a clean sheet, so scoring 3 is tough.
they'll both keep a cs imo
I've kept him reluctantly cos of how poor (comparatively) Ivan looked last GW - can see Sterling burning past him........what happens after that is anyone's guess though
yeah 8 points. Raheem wins 10-2
Please RMT,
Cech
Ivanovic Darmian Cresswell
Depay Hazard Silva Cazorla Mata
Deeney Ighalo
Butland Dann Ward Vydra 0 million ITB 1FT
I'm a bit short upfront, any clear way to have Sanchez, Silva and Aguero. Not so keen on Hazard. If you had to pick one.
Zarate
Lambert
Vardyvardy
Anyone think Dropping ivanovic for Clyne and dropping ozil for Silva a good idea (-4 points)
Not for -4
Just the first one if you fancy it
First one if nothing more pressing, but surely is sideways.
Any advice?
Courtois Hennessey
Mertesacker Cedric Huth Francis Baker
Hazard Walcott Ozil Mane Mahrez
Rooney Benteke Wilson
a)Get a new keeper in
b)Ozil/Walcott ---> Payet
c)Save FTAny suggested moves?
Ruddy (Butland)
Azpi, Cedric, PvA, ( Huth, Mings )
Hazard, Sterling, Ozil, Ritchie (Wanyama)
Benteke Rooney SakhoMany people will argue that you should waste a FT on a goalkeeper, but since you won't have one playing I would do that personally.
eh?
I think it was meant for the post above! 😆
Oh jeez!! I'm having a mare this morning. Second post fail.
I'm blaming my browser!
shouldn't waste* typo sorry.
Try again... I always hear people saying never to bother using a free transfer on a keeper, but I feel you have to get a replacement with neither a starter.
Over the moon right now -
Congratulations! Your place at University of Hertfordshire H36 for Computer Science G400 has been confirmed.
🙂Every dog has its day! Congrats
I'm just happy when my captain scores 10+ points...
Congrats!
Congrats mate!
well done mate
Congrats!
Thanks all; appreciate it. 🙂
Nice one. I did the G400 course at York Uni. You'll love it.
I'm so excited 😀
Congratulations!
Keeper for this week
Stekelenburg, Adrian or Mignolet?Mignolet surely. Bur keepers are not for one week - select one pair to stay with until WC.
Had the same dilemma. I went Mignolet purely because I already have WH and Southampton defence cover. Otherwise I would have gone for Adrian or Skelenberg.
Shaqiri is fully fit and ready to make his debut v Spurs.
Ryan Shawcross is expected to be out for 3 months.
- TwitterAdvice please, bench one of these -
Coates (NOR)
Cedric (EVE)
Sinclair (MUN)Sinclair, for me.
Coates
Current team:
McCarthy - Hennessy
Koscielny - Cedric - Huth - Coates - Mings
Hazard - Øzil - Mane - Mahrez - Fletcher
Rooney - Benteke -Pelle
£2.5 itb (aguero money!)
I think front 8 should be fine for this GW, but not too happy with defense.
Any suggestions for upgrades - either Cedric for £5.0 -5.5 or Coates to £4.5-5.0 defender ?I'd save it myself. 2FTs could be very useful next week
Thanks - I guess I can live with limited defensive returns for one more GW.
Looks fine to me. I'd save, personally.
I agree, bit boring but save
Quite, saving is boring, but sensible :-D. Just thought I might hope to reap some clean sheet points from likes of Liverpool, West Ham or Swansea. Probably only need one FT for Aguero next GW anyway.
Sterling to Yaya is apparently the 4th most common midfield transfer this week!
I thought I was knee jerky...wow
Oh dear, I can easily see Sterling outscoring Yaya.
My biggest fear this year is another 13/14 season from Yaya.
#TouréphobiaIt's a good thing I was a casual that year 😛
I wasn't and refused to buy the oaf...to my detriment!
What about total playing minutes? If i remeber right Yaya is playing 90min allmost everey game, but how about Sterling?
He did in GW1. Will he drop more defensive when Aguro is back? Will he drop altogether when Kevin de Bruyne arrives??
I got Sterling for the long term. I will review after 6-7 games
Absolutely no reason not too either.
I saw the City game, and YYT really looked like the 13/14 YYT. Not to read too much into it, but it's perfectly possible that YYT outscores Sterling, and even quite probable, imo.
Possibly, but after 1 game it's a bit of a sideways way to use a transfer.
definitely
Most teams will play a 5 man midfield against City this year, which will limit what YYT can do going forward.
Not sure what WBA were playing at?
"Aug 13 (Reuters) - Swiss international Xherdan Shaqiri, who joined Stoke City for a club record fee this week, said he is fully fit and ready to make his Premier League debut against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend if manager Mark Hughes gave him the nod.
Shaqiri signed a five-term deal at the Britannia Stadium on Tuesday after the Potters agreed a 12 million pounds ($18.75 million) fee with Serie A giants Inter Milan.
"I can't wait to play my first game here because I am feeling really fit," the 23-year-old, who has also played for Bayern Munich, told the club's website (www.stokecityfc.com).
"I have done a lot of good quality work throughout the summer with my last team so I am feeling good and strong.
"The coach will make the final decision though, but first of all I need to meet my new teammates and work with them in training. I can't wait to play and score goals for this club."
Hughes said Shaqiri is "flying" fit, but would not be drawn on whether his star signing would feature at the weekend.
Shaqiri, who was part of the Bayern Munich squad that won the Champions League in 2013-14, said Stoke could improve on last season's ninth place finish -- the club's best-ever end to a Premier League campaign.
"I was at the game (against Liverpool) on Sunday, as you know, and I really enjoyed the game -- it was good. Yes, Stoke lost the game in the end, but I saw things that really encouraged me," he said.
"I am sure that we will continue to play good football and win many games, and who knows maybe we can finish in a higher position than last season. The potential is absolutely huge here."

How's the team set? Plan on doing Wally to Payet this week.play Guzan (MUN) or Schemichel (west ham)
Tough call....also thinking of capn rooney so im hopeful of utd getting 2 goals past
West ham also in roaring form..
What to do?I'd go Guzan.
Good luck if you're captaining Rooney
not really decided....will go for mane most likely
Does anyone know when the Liverpool press conference will be?
Just after Brendan has had his sunbed
Does anyone remember RvP's goal and assists stats from the 2011-12 ( last arsenal ) season ?
Who's this RvP lad? I don't follow Turkish football.
Being a member is definitely worth it
30 goals
9 assistsThank you
Once I remove Theo from my team, I'm going to have an Arsenal sized whole in my attack.
If all goes to plan my attacking line up will be
Henderson, Hazard, Sterling, Ayew
Pelle, Sakho, Aguero
Feels light of Arsenal attack? Or is it me overthinking?Overthinking, don't worry too much about coverage.
Cheers mate
Thought as much.
Easy option is Hazard > Sanchez they will score similar I feel.
You have an ARS hole? Okay...
🙂
😆
Just fill the ARS hole and tear yourself a NEW one.
Wijnaldum? He is the NEW hole.
Hi guys, here's my current team:
Ruddy Butland
Kosc Azpi Cedric Gomez Coates
Hazard Cazorla Mane Chadli Anya
Rooney Benteke Sakho
I want to get Aguero in for GW3, but I'd like your advice on how to get him in:
A. Rooney + Benteke -> Aguero + Vardy
B. Rooney + Benteke -> Aguero + Deeney (+0.5 ITB)
C. Rooney + Cazorla -> Aguero + Ritchie
D. Rooney + Cazorla -> Aguero + Mahrez (+0.4 ITB)Anyone else got exact cash for an intended transfer involving Walcott?
I'm thinking of Walcott to Sanchez next gw but if he falls I can't. I have a feeling he will fall after the deadline but before the arsenal game which is even more annoying!I wish my choice was as easy as that.
If you have enough for Walcott > Sanchez now, surely it's a no brainer? You do it?Only after using my FT.
