Rooney did get 5 points last week. If Benteke, Costa, Aguero blank again this week he's got more points than all of them. If Kun blanks two weeks in a row will you guys be getting rid of him? I think everyone needs to calm down.

You have a point with the points... waaaayyy...

But he has played with such a lack of potential goals that if it happens again against the Toon I am afraid I will become more than a little sceptical. Just not the player he once was and LVG's Utd doesn't offer him enough chances on goal.

I agree that if he doesn't score next week I'll get a little worried but it's too early in the season to be saying he's all of a sudden turned awful

Yes but when kun blanks it's because he hit the post 15 times and had 16 shots blocked.

Open your eyes and see that Rooney is AWFUL. One touch in the box! He's a p*s*ING striker...

His underlining stats aren't great and you just have to watch thentwo matches to know he's not up to speed , I'm sure he will come good and have his moment but for now he's an upgrade to Kun or a down grade to Sanchez me thinks

ronneys underlining stats are not the best and you only have to watch the last two games to know he's not up to speed ... He will have his period I'm sure no denying the guys talents but for now he's an upgrade to Kun or a shift to midfield and Sanchez for most me thinks

Rooney under LVG in the league:

    16 home games – 11 goals, 4 assists. 5 blanks.
    19 away games – 1 goal, 2 assists. 16 blanks.

Last season he blanked away at Villa in GW17, managing only 1 touch in the box. In GW18 he scored twice and assisted once at home against Newcastle, bringing in 16 points.

This season he blanked away at Villa in GW2, managing only 1 touch in the box. In GW3 he’s at home against Newcastle…

I think Rooney is likely to do something at home to Newcastle.

I can't get Aguero in for him this week without a hit.

For that to pay off, Kun has to get multiple attacking returns away to Everton. It certainly could happen, but I don't think it's worth the gamble.

This.. Logically it's not worth getting rid this week. especially for a hit. But i think most on here just want to satisfy their urge of not looking at him in their team for the rest of the week so they'll get rid anyway.. gonna be a tough week not to kneejerk

You were arguing about the stat about him not scoring vs Villa is relevant.. i am arguing that it is irrelevant. Explain to me the logic behind your "stat" and i will accept it.. Aston Villa is a brand. the players and managers have changed over the season.. how is it relevant?

          1. De-spee comme Agüero
            • 10 Years
            10 years, 5 months ago

Not relevant? If you say so....

The events suggest my conclusion was correct.

The logic? Descartes had a nice view to it. There are certain things, which are difficult to dispute. In this case, the stat was correct and had a history to it. This made it a lot more valid to consideration and not simply a "useless statistic".

In conclusion, i'm right and you are wrong. Critical thinking goes a long way to be able to discern the very same things the masses are oblivious to.

True but United haven't lost there since the 90's. Seeming as he's they're main striker it was logical to captain him. Not in hindsight of course, he played so so badly

People need to take a deep breath and realise that selling a player when there are still 9 games left in the game week is not a good idea. What happens if Walcott scores a brace on Sunday? You will regret it then.. What happens if the player you replace Walcott with gets injured over the weekend or during mid-week European fixtures? Then you have wasted a transfer and may have to take a points hit. I do understand that you may want to save 0.1 M so you can acquire Sanchez/Aguero but the drop in price may not occur and if it does there are other ways to get the player you want n e.g. getting in a cheap enabling defender/mid-fielder etc.

Wallcott to Payet - I did the same transfer, the question is whether to do it tonight to avoid the price drop and if that .1 doesn't limit your flexibility elsewhere, but atm I would wait on that.

Rooney to Aguero might be early, I am keeping Rooney for next week unless people go crazy and financially I will be forced to make that move (already have Aguero bank ready).

Azpi out yes, but probs not for UTD def, yes they scored generously, but the fixtures aren't that great to return the transfer long term.

What is going on with the Bournemouth players? Wilson is at -85% and Ritchie at -95.6%. They have great fixtures and didn't look bad against Villa. I was thinking about getting Gradel. Am I missing something. Would hate to waste a transfer on Wilson.

Yeah but after Liverpool and West Ham they have: LEI, nor, SUN, stk, WAT. I guess I'll have to hope Wilson will rise back when he scores.

Some people sell players that dont score fpl points. They dont watch them play to find out whether they play well in reality

Ritchie has LEI, norw, SUND week4-6. I'm keeping him until GW6, if he doesn't produce during that stretch it's time to move on.

I also use him in a rotation with Deeney so next two weeks are no big deal for me to bench him.

I just wish there was that one game under LVG where we just put 6 or 7 past someone, like City, Arsenal and Chelsea are all capable of doing. Haven't threatened to do that in any game since he came. It's mostly just been 2 oe 3 chances in a game at most and converting all of them, or winning 1-0 with 1 shot on target.

I think moyes would've been doing better by now if he had been given a chance. What do you reckon?

We look woeful. I'm starting to worry that LvG has no idea what he's doing, but I'm not about to fully admit it yet. A cracking match would help clear those doubts though!

Basically, this. He's still an improvement on Moyes, although only just so far.

How do you feel about him?

1 year on, still dont like good, and still some terrible decisions. (Januzaj 10 over Mata!!?)

Spent far too much for what he's shown at United so far, in terms of results and performances. Baffling team selections, especially the 3 at the back at the start of his reign. And his post/pre-match comments are always so odd, + leaving out players for a period of time, but nobody knows why(e.g. herrera)

basically it's not been great at all

Center pass it to the halfback, passes to the wing, wing to center, center holds it....holds it...holds it

All LVG does is spend money on players he doesn't need. And then drop them when he realizes his mistake.

I thought LVG would be a perfect fit for Man Utd given that he made his name playing fast attacking, pressing football with plenty of width at Ajax and then Barca. It's almost as if he's trying to win with the random player selection and tactics every match.
