    Guys, what ye think of this WC team...?
    Any suggestions welcome..

    ruddy (butland)

    azpil / cedric / coates / (huth) (gomez)

    haz / sanchez / cabaye / albrighton / (westwood)

    aguero / benteke / sakho

      not bad.

      i'm not a huge fan of rotating keepers and I'd like to see more of cabaye and benteke this weekend before taking the plunge. gomis could be a good downgrade for benteke to upgrade cabaye.

      Albrighton is a bit weak for a 4th milf and i dont like cabaye in the pivot. Id consider going without hazard and pumping up those players and maybe a defender as well

        yeah alby is weak as a 4th mid... but isn't haz essential !

          No.

          Only one essential player in the game. Aguero.

        if you're on a wildcard, hazard is a must surely? I still think he will be the top scoring player this year. I do agree that cabaye and albrighton need to be upgraded, however.

          having haz, sanchez and aguero will mean a weak 4 and 5 in midfield

            I have Payet and Mahrez as 3 and 4. 5th never plays (Westwood).

            I'm happy with that for now. I have 1.0 in the bank to upgrade Payet or Mahrez if they start underperforming.

    I'm not sold on Cabaye yet. I think he will play too deep. Consider upgrading to Ayew or Payet and downgrading either Benteke (to Gomis or Pelle) or Sakho (to Deeney or Wilson).

        This. Cabaye is a great player, heck as a Toon fan I would know, but not a good pick in fpl atm. Terrible fixtures, playing too deep (as opposed to at Newcastle where the team was built around him and he had free license to roam).

        with Cooper in, we'll have some more fire in our backline. I'm hoping we can reverse the Eden Park hoodoo. It would be a great time to do it, just ahead of the world cup.

                Yeah I remember seeing a game at the MCG a few years back and it was a game of two halfs alright with Essendon claiming a fantastic come from nowhere win. (Might have been as a result of the drugs at half time 😉 )

    Best move here DZ?

    A) GW3: Ozil/Wally & Benteke -> Albrighton & Kane
    GW4: Rooney -> Aguero

    B) GW3: Ozil/Wally, Benteke & Rooney -> Albrighton, Kane & Aguero (-4)
    GW4: TBC (probably another MCY player in)

    C) GW3: Ozil/Wally & Benteke -> Payet & Kane
    GW4: Wildcard (bringing in 3 MCY, Sanchez etc)

    Ruddy
    Shaw, Bellerin, Targett
    Hazard, Walcott, Mane, Ozil
    Rooney, Benteke, Sakho

    Rudd, Huth, Coates, Sinclair
    Bank 0.0m, 2FT

    1. Geordienufc1
      • 12 Years

      Fwiw, with a quite similar team, my moves were/are likely to be:

      GW2: Haz -> Ayew
      GW3: Wally -> Silva
      GW4: Rooney -> Aguero

      That leaves about 1 mil left over (probably slightly less with Rooney likely to fall sometime this week) as a guard against price changes, and for other tweaks.

      If you look at my post history you can see my reasoning for dropping hazard in this circumstance.

    I think having all 3 of Hazard, Sanchez & Aguero ties up too much funds to the detriment of your m/f. Also Cabaye has aston, che, mci & spurs in the next 4 games so not keen on him. I'm trying a wc team too but just on paper at this stage & I have to choose between Sanchez & Hazard to go with Aguero.

      I'm of a same kind at this point. Every time I have those three together it compromises the rest of my team.

      I'm actually looking at Silva as my constant in midfield, allowing me to rotate Sanchez and Hazard based on form and fixtures.

        Same here mate. I have Silva & deciding on S or H. I've also got Kompany so tripling up on City.

        Is Davies from Spurs nailed as over the next 4 games MCI, So'ton & Spurs have the best fixtures imo.

    Morning Deadzoners,

    Missed the United game. How did Rooney do?

    Another 1-0 game for United, which is good in a way. Can't imagine the hysteria and chaos on here during the game with many given the armband to him. Bournemouth looks solid in the previous week as well so I think Benteke is going to suffer the same scale as Rooney and will disappoint many here.

      He keeps dropping back, doesn't play like a centre forward, barely any action in the box.

      United solid in DCM and defence, worth investing there.

        I hope I'm right too! I've gone against the public opinion and gave Walcott the armband. I, for one, believe Walcott will start.

        Arsene needs his pace against Palace's defense line who also looked vulnerable at the back against Norwich. Arsenal also usually bounces back followed by a terrible defeat.

        Why not save one?

        Then you have 2 FTs next week and 3 transfers for a -4 could even save you from needing to WC.

              Every other season I've played, my team was in decent shape when the winter WC came around and I only had a few changes to make, hoping that's the case again - which makes a GW4 WC a good idea.

              i've played Wc gw 4 the last 3 seasons. I wob't be this season becuase with the new rules i won't be playing second wc till a dgw, likely after gw30. So i will be saving my forst wc a bit longer so i won't have to last about 30gws without one.

      I think that's impulsive. Wayne Rooney is a proven investment in fantasy football terms.

      He's gathered zero goals so far and he is bound to hit one in the net some time in the first 5 gameweeks. If not one, a hat-trick.

      Against Newcastle and his famous goalscoring record against them in particular, he will be handed the armband next week in my team.

      I sold him before the Newcastle game last season because he was playing like an average midfielder without much scoring prospects. He got a hatty. But then went on to blank in loads of consecutive good fixtures, thus proving me equal parts right and unlucky

          It's not Cabaye bashing. I think most recognize the tough fixtures and that he's likely to play deeper. At that price (or a little more or less) you could get Puncheon or Bolasie or Ayew or Chadli or Tadic and feel better about them having more scoring opportunities.

      I had him from the start, can't say I'm disappointed

        Why would you?
        He got you 10 points in a shocking week, Fpl wise...

      Don't get me wrong - he's a great player. Maybe I'm just jealous that he's no longer at Newcastle. But the fixtures are terrible.

      And I'm equally uninspired about toure's prospects with regard to both of them being too deep lying.

      Perhaps it will be a situation of toure of 2 seasons ago, when he had no right to do as well as he did 😛

    Any comments on this team, my current one....

    Schmeichel Hennessey
    Ivanovic Kosc Cedric Coates Targett
    Hazard Silva Özil Mane Fletcher
    Benteke Gomis Sakho
    0.5 ITB

    Plans a bit open...any ideas ? Considering of doing....
    A. Targett to Muniesa, FT for gw 3
    B. Cedric to Kolarov (if nailed). FT for gw 3
    C. Mane to Yaya/Caz, FT for gw 3
    D. Ivanovic, Hazard, Benteke to Kolarov/Darmian, Fabregas/Yaya, Aguero -4(for gw4)

    Thanks.

    Little advice here. I missed the Walcott price drop. I have both Sanchez and Walcott and no Chelsea cover. What do I do now. Should I WC just because of it?

      No. I really don't think Chelsea cover is vital. We are really not playing that well at the moment.

        Who did or has so far other than City?

        Seems a bit silly to write them off so soon.

        I'm guessing as soon as Costa gets a brace he will become vital again as will the defence when they keep a clean sheet.

      Yes that's definitely the rational thing to do, throw the toys out of the pram because the milks cold

        Ok having .1 less really messes with the math. So what would you do?

          Watch the games, see if Wally still needs to go and if he does get Eriksen or Yaya.

      Chelsea look average so far. At least watch them on Sunday and decide who you might want?

      Personally not touching their defence or Costa. Just Haz for me.

      You miss the Walcott drop even if you WC. Sit back and watch the games

    Just realized Walcott had dropped too. Are they any sites that provide some calculations for potential price drops? Thanks

    Rooney to Aguero gw 4 was always the plan but now I'm worried I'll be doing Rooney(10.4) -> Aguero(13.1). Anyone else?

      Same worry. Planning to get him after the city game. Hoping Rooney won't drop by then.
