Kompany to Jones is tempting, but with defenders you really need consistent, solid 90 minute men. Utd have a whole warehouse of defenders to eventually mean he gets rotated. So tricky, though.

U no it ain't gonna be your season when your mini league leader brings in Di Santo and sh*t b*stard goes and scores. It hard not to jack it in already. When u finally get one of the better scores in your league but it's a pathetic score that doesn't do any damage to your leader its so frustrating!

yes long term aguero the striker to have, but nows seems just like the worse time to get him in especially for a hit.

yes ive got rooney. what makes now the worst time to get him in? he will probably be going to go up as everyone will want him in because of his 3 goals last week and 2 this week. and if you look at his scores he's been pretty solid and consistant besides gw2:

I had barton and did deliberate keeping him with aguero instead of suarez. However arsenal, despite their form, still have good fixtures and the potential for goals. I had to bin van persie, so the thinking is that if RVP catches fire then hopefully arteta will get caught in the flames and i'll be less gutted at ditching him.

They've had one bad games that's all. Two games ago they were all over Bolton, Suarez was the best player on the pitch and unlucky not to score points. They may have lost against Stoke last week but by all accounts Liverpool were dominating and Suarez was again the best player on the pitch. I'm keeping Suarez.

Looks good - what about N Taylor? Little bit more attacking and bappage potential. Vorm and possession maintainence suggests regular CS.
If you have Vorm, then I suppose Gabby is an easy choice.

So, first post, yadda yadda. Also, my first year doing FPL.
After a bad start I started researching. Been reading this site religiously all week, decided to use my WC, and changed 8 players.
Using all my skills and the knowledge I absorbed from here, I came out with...23 points. Even with bonuses to come tomorrow, easily my worst ever total.
Begovic and Huth contributed a mighty 0 points total, whilst 14 points of Gabbidon and Vorm warmed my bench. Adam got me -2. My one short term pick, Davies (for penalty disaster Norwich) got subbed before the penalty.
Decent season long picks (I think) - Taarabt, Kompany, Baines, Suarez all did nothing at all.
Oh, and I dropped Sinclair who I had in from week 1.
Oh well.
Bego and Huth were tired from a mid week match. Dont see why you wouldnt play swansea players at home when they've kept a clean sheet every week they've been there. Gabbidon was a bit of luck I think. Would have never brought in Charlie Adam. Davies was a bit of bad luck. Kompany and Suarez are season long picks. I still dont think Baines is wrth the money. Taarabt still hasn't done much fantasy wise. By the way they're called season long picks because over the season they'll provide lots of points, can't judge them based on one day. Don't think there was much wrong with dropping Sinclair, annoying that he got such a good score but he hadn't been providing many other points so far.
Maybe you were listening to the wrong people. Anyone who advised getting Baines or wildcarding and keeping baines when he is about to start the worst run a defender will face all season is just wrong.
Why pic/keep Suarez when Ageuro/Dzeko/Rooney are all better and Suarez is also about to start a bad run.
Why double up on stoke defenders...they are not that good.
Adam is a bad pick, considering the alternatives for that price. Also you should have looked at the fixtures with Adam and Gerrard's impending return.

gwk 9 that run starts. After wolves he's got everton and Man utd. For that price I'd have got Dzeko/Adebayor in and then got suarez in gwk9.
I know he's got Wolves next, but the next three is not a good time on the whole to be a suarez owner when there are better for that price over the next three gwks
I kept Suarez because he looked good value for money. Still does to me. And I already had Dzeko. I avoided the "RVP will come good this week, honest" bandwagon at least.
I also still think Adeb is a lazy ****, and I would be shocked if he keeps anything like this form up.
Adam was probably a mistake. My thought process was that Liverpool were a top half, maybe top 5 team, who had no European fixtures to worry about in the next 2 months. After that performance against Spurs though...
I've already got rid of Davies of Agbonlahor (Davies was about to drop). Next transfer I am thinking Adam for Nani.
Despite this week's disaster I am pretty happy with my team, it just lacks Aguero/Rooney. And I am banking they aren't worth the money with CL fixtures coming up.

Suarez appears to be the victim of a knee-jerk manager...King Kenny. It´s like he forgot that certain players play well EVERY WEEK, and some are just inconsistent, still not sold on the lot of nubes to their squad. No way I´m selling Suarez. Maintain possession, and keep feeding the kid with bad teeth the ball and get out of the way.

This season really is beginning to annoy. I have Walcott and RVP but Arteta and Gervinho get the scores. I have Nasri and Dzeko but Silva and Aguero get the scores.
Anyway, I'm holding onto the Arsenal players for 1 more week but what to do with the City players? Should I swap or hold on? I'm thinking of keeping Dzeko and swapping Nasri for Silva. Aguero is giving me a hammering in my mini-league though.

I've got Baines and the reason he's £8m does not change because of the opposition.
Take him out now with tough fixtures ahead and he could bring home attacking points, which he guarantees like no other defender. But those games plus Everton's ineptitude suggests at £8m Baines is overpriced.
And once he's gone, he's gone for good. Or until a wildcard.
Baines is overpriced (in light of next few fixtures)...

Baines > Who? Is there any defender worth wasting a freebie on? I'm planning on a wildcard after GW7 so I don't know if I could even be bothered doing the Baines downgrade.
I see Baines as a 8m midfielder who scores more points for a goal with the chance (all be it small) of scoring 4 for a cleanie.
What other midfielder can you get for 8m that you can 100% rely on. Arteta, Jarvis, Yaya, Ramires? None of them really.
Good point. There is absolutely no value in midfield around that price and Baines gives you output similar to a midfielder.
My only issue is that you could fill his slot with a cheapie and then upgrade a mid-priced mid such as Jarvis to one of the more desireable mids. Tough call.

Jarvis > any mid 7.5m or less
£17m for any two mids essentially. Ideas?
