We delve into the members data this evening after the Gameweek came to its conclusion last night. Stoke, Southampton and Watford’s forwards all come under analysis, whilst Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez make a strong claim for immediate investment on the back of their weekend showings.

Am i wrong in thinking Wc'ing early/building large TV early is less important this year?

    1. This season our second WC will almost certainly be played in a late dgw. This means if we WC early we have to keep our team with just FT's for around 30gws.

    2. Since we will be using our second WC later compared to previous seasons, we won't be able to put that large TV to use until a lot later. In previous seasons, the Jan WC is where building early TV is reflected but now it will be a lot later and less time for it to make a difference.

I never care much about TV..as long as my players get points..

But I like your theory since I am a late WC'er

i think TV has actually been very important in previous seasons - not really last season though due to Kane and Austin.

I think an early WC's main problem is not the TV, it's more about short-term performance. This game rewards the result and the success, not the good form. So choosing players in-form before the end of the transfer window, before the end of the qualifying round in Europe and before the first internationals matches might be a problem for a lot of team.

I plan playing my WC in november (or october if something goes wrong like injuries or several really bad players). And the second one around march for double gameweeks.

"The Wildcard chip can be used twice a season, once in the first half of the season (before 28 Dec 14:00) and once in the second half of the season."

That means the 2nd WC can be played for GW20 (Jan. 2).

Minus the 2 GWs already played, that means there's only 18GWs to go before the 2nd WC is available.

      Not 30....

With that said, I think managers need to strike a balance between TV and WCing.

      What do yous say?

      1. Nabs Kebabs
        • 14 Years
        10 years, 3 months ago

Please re read the first sentence of my first point..

"This season our second WC will almost certainly be played in a late dgw"

Why would we play second WC in gw 20 with the new chips?

        1. Yankee Toffee
          • 10 Years
          10 years, 3 months ago

I know what it says mate, I'm just saying we have the freedom to play it in 18 GWs if we should choose so.

And to answer your question, alot of managers might considering how many are playing their WC now...

If you haven't plaued the game before your comment is understandable but everyone that has a clue will be looking to gw 31 (or the first double gw) to play their second wc to maximise double gw players.

A lot of the same people blowing early wcs now will probably not be able to wait that long though and will as you say hit the button the first week it is available and probably justify it by saying I won't be able to afford the team I want for the doubles if I don't get in the players that are rising and a hut or two will sort my team or for the doubles.

Is there an in-game stat where you can see the number of player who played their WC ?

Who is the best option in the West Brom defense? I'd assumed Lescott until last week, but now I'm thinking possibly Dawson. Is there any indication that the Lescott benching was just a 1 week thing?

No, I don't get the point in the non playing 4M option, they may only get you 10-15 points coming off the bench through the course of the season, but that's better than seeing the lineups, realising one of your defenders isn't playing and having nobody on the bench to cover it.

Dropping the fixtures in there in upper case only makes it hard to look at it. And if it's a WC team, the immediate fixtures aren't that relevant anyway.

Did anyone know Steve Bruce wrote 3 novels in the late 90's early 00's? Reading the various excerpts included on the link below it would appear the first one was one of the most hilariously bad books ever written.

    Opinion on WC team please:

    McCarthy / Myhill
    Kolorov - Shaw - Richards - Gomez - Williams
    Sanchez - Payet - Yaya - Mahrez - Westwood
    Gomis - Aguero - Lukaku
    1.3 itb

Some or all of the below options:

    A) Payet > Mane (When Mane drops) for 0.4
    B) Lukaku > Benteke for 0.5m
    C) Richards > Francis, when Francis drops, for 0.1m cash.
    D) Yaya > Sterling (When Yaya has increased again) for 0.3. Seems crazy, but something different wo what everyone has.
    E) Anything else

Somehow hadn't thought of that, not sure if I can go without Mane though as really think he's due something..

No player is ever due.. But I do think Mane will get attacking returns in the next 2 GWs so agree not to drop him

Please help guys, currently doing my WC team but feel I need Kompany in there.

The only way I can do it is to downgrade Silva > Yaya problem is Silva is my route back to Hazard if and when I bring him back.

Can anyone help or give me pointers on this team?:

    McCarthy

    Kolarov Darmain Huth

    Silva Sanchez Payet Mahrez

    Gomis Aguero Benteke

subs: Myhill Richards Anya S Taylor

I think that if you were going to have Yaya and Kompany, then you should have brought them in before their prices rose. I'd keep with what you have in terms of Man City support.

I would however be looking to move Huth, Taylor, Anya and possibly Myhill/McCarthy as they *could* be a transfer waiting to happen if/when they both lose their place

        Cheers for the feedback.

Any ideas who you might swap them with?, only reason I had Taylor was obviously his price at 4.0 and he stands more of a chance of getting some sort of game time.

Keepers are a real head scratcher for me. Myhill purely for WBA coverage although, like you mentioned, Im not sure how much more game time he will get. Guessing same with McCarthy but again, he's only there because of his 4.0 price tag. Im not a huge fan of having 2 x 4.5 keepers.

          It's tough because you don't have any real "droppable" players. If you wanted to go budget shopping, you could do;

          Payet & Gomis > Shelvey & Zaraté.

You've still got Swans and WHU cover, but a saving of about 4mil. That should give you the funds to balance out the rest of your side.

So who's keeping haz for his brace against West Brom this week then transferring him out for Sanchez?

Selling on WC. Money ITB, a double Silva rise + 0.1 drop from Haz and I can afford a straight swap when Haz starts scoring.

      Decent.

Don't like Kone pick with Everton's fixtures, but there isn't a lot at that price range. Not sold on Cedric either, would rather have a 4.5/5mil keeper and do Cedric > Kolarov

Thank you. I already have 3 City so should I do Hart+Kone+Cedric to Courtois+Deeney+Kolarov?

Nice. With a defence like that I would go Hart->Ruddy and get Kolarov in.
