We delve into the members data this evening after the Gameweek came to its conclusion last night. Stoke, Southampton and Watford’s forwards all come under analysis, whilst Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez make a strong claim for immediate investment on the back of their weekend showings.
Aguero in and cop -4?
I did right after the match
Oh yes.
yep
And get rid of Ivanovic or Koscielny?
Ivan
Ivan
Pick one of these defenders for GW3:
A) Cedric
B) Gomez
C) RichardsACB
C
Is Gomez even an alternative? Play Cedric
Is captaining Depay over Aguero an option this week given the fixtures?
Not for me, if Aguero is in my team he's my captain
I'd say he is an option but a risky one, Aguero the safer option.
You'll shoot up the rankings if it works out
Anyone going with Smalling over Darmian/Shaw ?
No, only because I went Kompany over Kolarov though
any thoughts on sagna
Zaba will probably start over him this week
A. Chadli & Benteke
or
B. Depay & Gomis
No Spurs, Pool, United or Swans cover elsewere in team.B
Which is the better combo?
A) Gomis and Depay
B) Benteke and Ayew
ThanksClose one. I'd go for B.
A just

On WC. Who to bring in?

sagna?
hmmm thought I'd settled on my wc but now 3-5-2 is knocking!
Butland
Kolarov Richards Francis
Mahrez Silva Ayew Sanchez Mane/Depay
Aguero Diouf
Schmeichel Deeney Huth Gomez
Any thoughts or better off droping Mane/Depay and going Deeney> Pelle?
Cheers allAyew to Hoolahan and Deeney to Gomis?
That good be a very good shout, pal , thanks
No worries pal. Best of luck
Liverpool have Arsenal and Man Utd away in the next 3 GWs...can easily avoid it's player and then do Mane to Coutinho...hope the plan works!
not to mention a decent-looking west ham in between...
Yeah
Arsenal (A)
West Ham (H)
Man Utd (A)
Norwich (H)
Villa (H)
I'd say there's only one fixture there that you're not looking at attacking returns
Am i wrong in thinking Wc'ing early/building large TV early is less important this year?
1. This season our second WC will almost certainly be played in a late dgw. This means if we WC early we have to keep our team with just FT's for around 30gws.
2. Since we will be using our second WC later compared to previous seasons, we won't be able to put that large TV to use until a lot later. In previous seasons, the Jan WC is where building early TV is reflected but now it will be a lot later and less time for it to make a difference.FTs and hits, don't forget hits!
good point sir 😀
I never care much about TV..as long as my players get points..
But I like your theory since I am a late WC'eri think TV has actually been very important in previous seasons - not really last season though due to Kane and Austin.
😛
I think an early WC's main problem is not the TV, it's more about short-term performance. This game rewards the result and the success, not the good form. So choosing players in-form before the end of the transfer window, before the end of the qualifying round in Europe and before the first internationals matches might be a problem for a lot of team.
I plan playing my WC in november (or october if something goes wrong like injuries or several really bad players). And the second one around march for double gameweeks."The Wildcard chip can be used twice a season, once in the first half of the season (before 28 Dec 14:00) and once in the second half of the season."
That means the 2nd WC can be played for GW20 (Jan. 2).
Minus the 2 GWs already played, that means there's only 18GWs to go before the 2nd WC is available.
Not 30....
With that said, I think managers need to strike a balance between TV and WCing.
What do yous say? Please re read the first sentence of my first point..
"This season our second WC will almost certainly be played in a late dgw"
Why would we play second WC in gw 20 with the new chips?I know what it says mate, I'm just saying we have the freedom to play it in 18 GWs if we should choose so.
And to answer your question, alot of managers might considering how many are playing their WC now...
If you haven't plaued the game before your comment is understandable but everyone that has a clue will be looking to gw 31 (or the first double gw) to play their second wc to maximise double gw players.
A lot of the same people blowing early wcs now will probably not be able to wait that long though and will as you say hit the button the first week it is available and probably justify it by saying I won't be able to afford the team I want for the doubles if I don't get in the players that are rising and a hut or two will sort my team or for the doubles.
Is there an in-game stat where you can see the number of player who played their WC ?
It's only the second year I play FPL, but I don't remember so much price changes so early last year.Only after the deadline hence why people have the rises and falls wrong everyday on here.
Who is the best option in the West Brom defense? I'd assumed Lescott until last week, but now I'm thinking possibly Dawson. Is there any indication that the Lescott benching was just a 1 week thing?
Regardless of what happens with Lescott, I would say Dawson is the better pick anyway.
Probably Myhill at 4.5m to be honest
Best DEF for 5m?
ThanksWilliams now
Lovren once fixtures improveThx WHA
right, forgot about Williams.
Williams then 😀
C.Dawson in due time.
Yep, Lovren in a few weeks time
Thx all
I was going to take a chance on Depay (Newcastle @ Home) and then Transfer in YYT next week??
do u guys think Depay can outscore YYT this week..??Yeah newcastle is garbage. Everton a bogey team for City
@Doos looks like your persistence hammering of getting people to buy Francis saved you from .1 drop, ever think about going into the stock market?
So far ... ! 😀
Already in. 😉
Charlie Austin is being strongly linked with a move to West Ham, he could be a very good option if priced favourably with Payet supplying the ammo.
straight in my team if he moves to WHU
Not a Hammers fan at all (sorry Doos) but this would be so good for FPL, so long as he comes in under 7m
For the amount of goals he scored last season he wouldn't be anywhere near 7m
Yes please. Hey, Henry hope you've been well!
Hey mate, not too bad. Swamped in work recently so have being neglecting my FPL duties. Shame on them expecting me to be productive once the season has started!
I really hope this happens.
Rate my WC Team please.

Would you get rid of Richards or Ward and get in a non playing 4M defender to save some cash?
Other toughts?Ward is prob not gonna score more than this one goal and cp wont get many cs. think at least there are better 4.5 options
No, I don't get the point in the non playing 4M option, they may only get you 10-15 points coming off the bench through the course of the season, but that's better than seeing the lineups, realising one of your defenders isn't playing and having nobody on the bench to cover it.
Dropping the fixtures in there in upper case only makes it hard to look at it. And if it's a WC team, the immediate fixtures aren't that relevant anyway.
Classic kneejerking. Koné, Barkley, Guzan, and Shaw (fixtures) are poor picks imo.
Already taken a -4 this week but should I take another for Rooney > Aguero?
What were your original moves?
Rest of team?I did walcott + Ritchie > payet + mahrez
Cech (Hennessey)
Williams, Azpi, Cedric (huth, Burke)
Mahrez, ayew, payet, mane (milner)
Deeney, Kane, RooneyI personally wouldn't want to spend another 4pts, but it could work out
Everton away might be quite tough considering he's up against Jagielka and Stones.
You could wait for next week when it's Watford (H).But look at the game vs Chelsea. I dont think it matters
With the arrival of Baba, does Ivanovic look to be benched?
There's paper talk, and it would make sense, but I'm not convinced he will actually be dropped
This!
Can't see it happening, Baba's young and unproven. Chelsea's had a terrible start sure, but I think Mourinho won't risk Baba yet.
Wow, terrible sentence structure.. I don't think Mourinho will take the risk with Baba yet.
A. Gomez and YYT
B. Kompany and Payet
ThxI have A
Thx
I have B and Silva
B
If United buy Pedro. Do you guys think Mata will play in the hole ?
I think he should..and he will be great in that position..
Mata in the hole behind wheel.could be fantasy gold. Pedro and Memephis on each side Sith Herrera and Schniederlin holding ..Solid
Shrek*
Romero
Darmian Smalling Blind Shaw
Schneiderlin Schweinsteiger
Pedro Mata Depay
RooneyYou'd think so, but lvg doesn't do the obvious
Lots of expected price changes didn't happen then?
Must by the WC factor
Finally people are realising, hopefully the panic will abate now.
Did anyone know Steve Bruce wrote 3 novels in the late 90's early 00's? Reading the various excerpts included on the link below it would appear the first one was one of the most hilariously bad books ever written.
http://www.theslicedpan.com/football/steve-bruce-novel/293169Opinion on WC team please:
McCarthy / Myhill
Kolorov - Shaw - Richards - Gomez - Williams
Sanchez - Payet - Yaya - Mahrez - Westwood
Gomis - Aguero - Lukaku
1.3 itb
Some or all of the below options:
A) Payet > Mane (When Mane drops) for 0.4
B) Lukaku > Benteke for 0.5m
C) Richards > Francis, when Francis drops, for 0.1m cash.
D) Yaya > Sterling (When Yaya has increased again) for 0.3. Seems crazy, but something different wo what everyone has.
E) Anything elseE) Lukaku -> Pelle
Somehow hadn't thought of that, not sure if I can go without Mane though as really think he's due something..
No player is ever due.. But I do think Mane will get attacking returns in the next 2 GWs so agree not to drop him
Please help guys, currently doing my WC team but feel I need Kompany in there.
The only way I can do it is to downgrade Silva > Yaya problem is Silva is my route back to Hazard if and when I bring him back.
Can anyone help or give me pointers on this team?:
McCarthy
Kolarov Darmain Huth
Silva Sanchez Payet Mahrez
Gomis Aguero Benteke
subs: Myhill Richards Anya S Taylor
£0.2ITBI think that if you were going to have Yaya and Kompany, then you should have brought them in before their prices rose. I'd keep with what you have in terms of Man City support.
I would however be looking to move Huth, Taylor, Anya and possibly Myhill/McCarthy as they *could* be a transfer waiting to happen if/when they both lose their placethoughts on sagna
Cheers for the feedback.
Any ideas who you might swap them with?, only reason I had Taylor was obviously his price at 4.0 and he stands more of a chance of getting some sort of game time.
Keepers are a real head scratcher for me. Myhill purely for WBA coverage although, like you mentioned, Im not sure how much more game time he will get. Guessing same with McCarthy but again, he's only there because of his 4.0 price tag. Im not a huge fan of having 2 x 4.5 keepers.It's tough because you don't have any real "droppable" players. If you wanted to go budget shopping, you could do;
Payet & Gomis > Shelvey & Zaraté.
You've still got Swans and WHU cover, but a saving of about 4mil. That should give you the funds to balance out the rest of your side.
Team A or B on wildcard
A
Butland/Ruddy
Kolarov, Darmian, Clyne, Richards, Targett
Hazard (C), Payet, Shaqiri, Yaya, Wanyama
Aguero, Gomis, Diouf
B
Butland/Ruddy
Clyne, Kolarov, Gomez, Richards, Targett
Yaya (V), Payet, Eriksen, Shaqiri, Wanyama
Aguero (C), Rooney, Gomis
Playing 3-4-3 formationOn your B team is two liverpool defenders a mistake? or is it meant to be like that?
sagna?
both mid looks weak
What would you recommend then?
So who's keeping haz for his brace against West Brom this week then transferring him out for Sanchez?
Selling on WC. Money ITB, a double Silva rise + 0.1 drop from Haz and I can afford a straight swap when Haz starts scoring.
nah, i'm keeping sanchez for his sadly inevitable brace this weekend...
look at next weeks games!!
Hey guys please can you rate my WC team
Hart Butland
Shaw Clyne Cedric Williams Richards
Sanchez Silva Redmond Payet Mahrez
Aguero Gomis Kone
Thank you 🙂Decent.
Don't like Kone pick with Everton's fixtures, but there isn't a lot at that price range. Not sold on Cedric either, would rather have a 4.5/5mil keeper and do Cedric > KolarovThank you. I already have 3 City so should I do Hart+Kone+Cedric to Courtois+Deeney+Kolarov?
Nice. With a defence like that I would go Hart->Ruddy and get Kolarov in.
Thank you 🙂
kone!cedric!
why is know one saying sagna?
