Both our free and Members’ Season Tickers have been updated this morning, with new ratings available for overall fixture difficulty, plus new ratings for clean sheets and goals for our Members.

To accompany the update, we’ve carried out our regular rinse through the forthcoming fixtures over the next month or so, indentifying those sides treated to favourable runs and those who will have to work that little bit harder to fetch the points and Fantasy returns.

The Highs

Newcastle
Alan Pardew’s side have surprised us all with a solid start to the season, founded on a back four that has conceded just a couple of goals to this point. We’d expect that kind of defensive form to continue over the forthcoming run, with perhaps an increased attacking threat thrown into the mix as Pardew looks to go for three points in home matches with Blackburn, Tottenham and Wigan in the next four. Sandwiched within that cluster of St James’ Park encounters, Newcastle go to Molineux and, with Wolves having slipped to back-to-back home defeats, that will surely be a game that the Magpies can approach with confidence.

All in all then, things look peachy for Newcastle and Fantasy managers will now be pondering whether to bolster defensive acquisitions with some attacking assets – Johan Cabaye and Leon Best stand out, although all eyes will be on Hatem Ben Arfa when he returns to action in the Carling Cup tonight.

Chelsea
Despite defeat, Andre Villas-Boas’ side gave a decent account of themselves at Old Trafford on Sunday and will be expected to return to winning ways over their forthcoming matches . A favourable home clash with Swansea begins a run of opponents (SWA bol EVE qpr) that should bring goals and clean sheets – promoting their assets in the minds of Fantasy managers.

Having seen expensive options – Frank Lampard and Fernando Torres – fall from favour, Juan Mata and Daniel Sturridge have stepped in to present the key prospects over the coming Gameweeks and significant investment in them, with Jose Bosingwa continuing to attract interest at the back, looks likely.

Arsenal
While Chelsea have a semblance of form to provide a springboard, Arsenal approach a run of favourable fixtures with their confidence and chins on the floor. Nevertheless, an obliging run of opponents, right up until the clash with City in Gameweek 16, should give Arsene Wenger every opportunity to turn things around.

Fantasy managers will be hesitant when it comes to the defensive options on show, but in attacking terms we’re treated to an array of proven talent that will surely flourish in the coming months. We’re still waiting for Robin Van Persie to explode and, with both Wayne Rooney and Sergio Aguero accelerating away in the goal stakes, the Dutchman has been well and truly overshadowed. The goal threat is still there, though, and Van Persie now has a run of games that could see him begin to claw back the gap between himself and the Manchester duo.

Mikel Arteta’s goal at Ewood Park will also have cemented his place on our radars, particularly while Wenger chooses to rotate Andrei Arshavin and Theo Walcott on the flanks. The return of Jack Wilshere meanwhile, will presumably dent Aaron Ramsey potential as a budget offering.

Liverpool
An awful showing at White Hart Lane on Sunday will have severely dented confidence in Kenny Dalglish’s squad. One glance at our Season Tickers however, reveals that, a home clash with United aside, they now have a run of opponents which should see a hike in Fantasy returns.

Indeed, four Anfield matches in the next six holds the key. While United are one of those, the other three – Wolves, Norwich and Swansea, will surely offer opportunity for goals and clean sheets. Those currently contemplating firing Luis Suarez into the Fantasy ether should consider their options carefully; Steven Gerrard’s return could just provide the catalyst for an upturn in form and fortunes, with Suarez the most likely benefactor.

Also consider…
Wigan – the home clash with a Tottenham side bristling with goal threat will be a tester but, following that, the Latics have a very favourable run of matches, right up until Gameweek 13.

Tottenham – With Emmanuel Adeabayor firing and hoovering up Fantasy owners, Harry Redknapp’s side look in bloom and, if they can find their feet on their travels, could maintain both form and Fantasy profits for weeks to come.

Fulham – Sunday’s comeback from 2-0 down demonstrated the fighting spirit Martin Jol has instilled and, with confidence flowing from that result, the Cottagers could kick-on. Favourable fixtures over the next six Gameweeks should help them continue the revival.

The Lows

Everton
Quite simply, the fixture list is a horror show. The next three has David Moyes’ side facing up to City, Liverpool and Chelsea and, even following that, trips to Fulham and Newcastle sandwich a home clash with United.

Clean sheets look highly improbable – a major cause for concern for those still holding Leighton Baines. The left-back is unquestionably the most creative defensive option available and, with free-kicks and spot-kicks in his locker, also carries a worthy goal threat. However, Baines will surely need to find attacking returns to compensate for a lack of cleanies over the next six. The question will be – just how many goals can Everton muster against such stiff opposition?

Blackburn Rovers
Yakubu’s potential as a cheap forward option revealed itself with his brace in the 4-3 win over Arsenal on Saturday, but caution is required before we begin to consider any options on offer at Ewood Park. Rovers will face three of the sternest defences in the next six with a trip to Newcastle this weekend, followed by home ties with City and Chelsea. Spurs are also at Ewood in this spell, making visits to QPR and Norwich particularly vital if Kean’s side are to continue a climb up the table.

Stoke
Tony Pulis’ outfit seemed perpetually cursed by the fixture list. They are still not clear of tough opponents and, with United, Arsenal and a testing trip to Swansea lined up in the next four, it seems unlikely that Fantasy interest will pick up any time soon.

Asmir Begovic will likely have plenty of opportunity to boost his save point count further then, and, following the 4-0 drubbing at Sunderland, there will surely be few takers for the Stoke back four just yet, regardless of their goal threat from set-plays.

Be wary of…
QPR – While optimism and confidence will be flowing through the Rangers camp, a stiff batch of fixtures is looming to test the new found survival credentials. Fantasy managers will need to consider a tough run of matches from Gameweek 9-12 and hope for rich returns from the next few Gameweeks in the meantime.

Bolton – While Martin Petrov has been attracting Fantasy investment with his recent displays, his output could be in line to dip over the next five Gameweeks as the Trotters run of testing fixtures continues.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

You reckon? I think Everton will be a tough game (plus i only have Silva and won't be captaining him) so i'm leaning towards RVP or Suarez at the moment even though neither are exactly bang in form right now

I'm also tempted with a punt on Mata at home to Swansea. Suarez option too like you say. Liverpool just seem very hot/cold right now and getting colder.

Same here. The only way i can raise the money for Mata though (without selling one of RVP, Suarez or Rooney) is to dump Kompany and maybe Sessegnon and then get Mata and a cheap defender. Might be the way to go for me.

              That's what I did.

Kompany, Sess, Suarez >>> Simpson, Mata, Adebayor (-4pts)

Kompany - too expensive for what others are doing for less
Sess - had to get off the wagon eventually - he did very little in a 4-0 win
Suarez - had his chance, prefer to go with form. not convinced he's getting the right service.

Yeah looks good to me apart from the Suarez bit. I can kinda understand why people want to dump him but i'll be giving him at least the Wolves game i think

My bad, it was Lescott out not Kompany. He was dropping in value, as was Sess and I picked up the Adebayor rise + Simpson to follow tonight.

I can see the Mata and Adebayor attraction for this week. Especially Mata, seeing how well he has performed but not yet exploded in fantasy terms.

But i see a City cleanie this week with a 1-0 scoreline. And so far, Kompany has been well in the mix for BP's so i predict an 8 pointer for him. Since it was lescott and there are rotation concerns about him i can understand the move. But 4 points still means Simpson HAS to get a cleanie, or you will have to pray for double figures from the other two for it to be worthwile.

I’m in a bit of a fix(GW6)….help me out please:

    My current team:
    Given (Vorm)
Kompany Bosingwa Simpson (De Laet , Ward)
Silva Arteta Mata Jarvis (Ferguson-just to free up cash)
    Adeb Rooney Suarez

    By making transfers:
    Given (Vorm)
Kompany Bosingwa Simpson (De Laet, Ward)
Silva SWP Jarvis Mata (Ferguson-free up cash)
    Adeb Rooney Aguero

By getting in SWP and Aguero, I’ll be taking a 4pt. hit and have 0.2m in bank.
    Thoughts please!!

Yep i have the same two (along with Rooney) and can't face dumping either. IMO it's asking for trouble and neither Tottenham or Man City exactly have gimmies this weekend.

Suarez & RVP could easily outscore Aguero & Adebayor in this gameweek. It's a real tough one

If your gonna take a 4 point hit just to bring in Aguero for suarez (SWP for Arteta doesn't boost your points potential in my opinion) then your gambling that Aguero will score at leat 5 points more than Suarez this week. Its too big a gamble in my opinion as Aguero 'might' not even start - Tevez and Balotelli just waiting for game time.
Also, Suarez has 4 home games in his next 6 - medium term has very good returns expected and he's overdue a goal.
Arteta has a better fixture run than SWP. He also has 4 home games in his next 6.
You already have Man City coverage with Silva and plenty of captain options with Ade, Mata, Silva, and Rooney.
I say make no changes and if you still want to do it, do it for free with two subs next week. But by then, I guarantee, after this weekends games, a top performance from somebody else or an unexpected injury will change your thinking again.
Keep the 4 points, they're too damn hard to earn back once you give them away!!!

A lot more people find a game involving Man Utd or Arsenal more interesting than those who would prefer to watch a Wigan game.

What is preposterous is that Wigan will get the same amount of TV money as both United and Arsenal.

Yes I.T I should've inserted a sarcasm face in there if one exists. However I think it's right that the TV money gets distributed evenly (when did that start by the way - it used to be that they got paid per match did it not?). The rich already get richer with the Champions League money

Moses has good fixtures and is way overdue a goal or assist!!

But if you still do it maybe bring in a penalty taker with the best fixture run (Watson, Watlers, Sinclair or Murphy) or bring in Cabaye cos he's playin well and has a good fix run too.....

    Recipe for a successful bandwagon:-

Player with limited ownership (new signing or recovering from extended injury), add immediate goalscoring potential, mix with decent fixtures, sprinkle in managers offloading poorly performing player in the same price bracket..et voila!

See most recent - Adebayor (from Dzeko, Suarez sales)

next contender:- Hatem Ben Arfa???...or is the fact that I have Barkley and 0.4 in the bank warping my judgement?

    Ruddy (Given)
    R Taylor/S Taylor/Kompany (Enrique) (Brown)
    Arteta/Mata/Young/Brunt (Sinclair)
    Adebayor/RVP(c)/Agbonlahor

My big decision is Enrique for one of the Taylor's but with Agger probably out as well as Kelly and Johnson for Liverpool, I can really see them shipping a goal against Wolves as Carragher is past it and Skrtel is awful. Plus the Taylor's have more attacking threat than Enrique of course.

    Hey guys,
I’d love your opinions on the following. I reckon I’ve had an average start to the season. 281pts. I’m 60 odd points behind the leader in my league.

    My team now is:

    Given/Vorm
    Baines/Kompany/Brown/Simpson/DeLaet
    N’Zog/Sinclair/Toure/Jarvis/Moses
    Suarez/Dzeko/Rooney

Seriously considering WC. I think I have to change my midfield, reset my defense and possibly tweak my forward line-up. As I see it there are too many expensive 2/3 pointers.

    Looking at:

    Krul/Vorm
    Bosingwa/Kompany/Brown/Delaet/Simpson
    Nani/Modric/Silva/Barton/Dyer
    Suarez/Sturridge/Rooney

I could tweak it here and there. Thinking Agbonlahor as a possible differential. I’d love to have attack coverage from all the top teams but I can’t afford them all!
I think this is a pretty well balanced and attack minded team.
What do you reckon? Any ideas for improvement?
    Thanks in advance.

I think there is one more good season in him and hopefully Kenny can get the best out of him, he has been Liverpool for years now and one of the best midfielders in the Premiership so I wouldn't discount him when he gets back in the team.

O Fen, I am indeed but i just dont think hes gonna be a great FPL player anymore. I dont think he will come back the same player and i also think he will play a slightly different role. When he did last play he was generally sitting deeper in the midfield along side Lucas and Meireles was the more attacking central midfielder. I think he will play this role on his return to because i dont think he can get up and down as used to. I think he may still have set pieces if he takes Adam's postion but i do think he maybe used slightly more sparingly and may well be saved for bigger games especially as he seems to be more injury prone again. That is my take on it anyway.

Remeber all the RVP talk on here in the summer how he is "fixture proof" now every second person is transferring him out before a home game against Bolton.

I also feel this, he has been unlucky not to score in the last 2 games. I don't care if Arsenal aren't winning games, they are still scoring goals.

He's not the issue is he? it's his lines of supply, Gervinho, Arshavin and Walcott all see to play with their head up their arse....only Arteta, Ramsey seem to have any vision atm

I agree about Gervinho and Walcott being completely headless, Arshavin couldn't care less about playing football for the last 7/8 months for some reason. But in spite of all this Van Persie will still get goals.

Why is everyone going on about Adebayor being a bandwagon?! His 2 goals were well taken, he's scored in 2 consecutive games, he will be Tottenhams main forward. Tottenham have good fixtures? Whats the problem?!

I don't understand either way people are whining about it, they should just get on with it, pick their shitter choices and stop crying about it tbh. He is there main man, and can see him getting on the end of anything at the moment.

Bandwagon doesnt have to be a derisory term, it simply means vast numbers transferring in based on a particular performance or set of circumstances. In terms of money making "a positive bandwagon" is a very very good thing.

I would have Adebayor if I could right now... but be aware that the transfers have most likely come from Dzeko / Suarez owners and can just as easily go back if "Manu" goes back to his lazy ways..

I can see the reason why some of you still taking a punt by putting RVP as captain. Differential and hoping to reduce the gap with the leaders who have other high profile players (e.g. Rooney). If Arsenal continues to perform badly, and Rooney, Aguero & Silva has better gameweek performances, what then?! Go with the pack and capitalize, when they make a mistake. The gap made in the beginning is very difficult to neutralize.

Personally, I give a player a run of games as captain to limit the danger of picking the wrong one every week (I was an expert at doing that last year!!!) So have had RVP captain for the last couple and will do so again this week then re-assess form/upcoming fixtures.
