The last-minute August transfer window move to QPR seems to have offered Shaun Wright-Phillips a new lease of life. The winger cut a forlorn figure on the periphery of Roberto Mancini’s title-challenging Man City but, plucked from his Etihad Stadium nightmare by Neil Warnock, Wright-Phillips has been handed the chance to resurrect his career. Under the guidance of a manager with complete faith in his abilities, he is already making an impact at Loftus Road.

Fed up of Darren Bent, I have 2.9 in bank so can afford pretty much anyone. Thinking Luis Suarez as a good differential? No Rooney all season has been absolutely stupid from me so have huge ground to make up but might wait little bit longer to get him

Suarez is owned by 35% or something, so not much of a differential. I think you might need Rooney for their game against Norwich..

    Hi,
    My current team is:
    Vorm / Given
    Senderos / A.Cole / Kompany / Simpson / Enrique
    Cahill / Sinclair / Ramsay / Moses / Surman
    Bent / Aguero / Rooney

I am thinking of wildcarding in the international break.
Have 2 transfers this week and was thinking of Cahill and Bent to:
    Mata and 9.3m forward
    or
    Nani/Silva and Sturridge

    Any thoughts??

Silva is close to must have and I like the value from Sturridge, so I'd say Silva/Sturridge.

Mata still has to prove his consistency to score/assist, but he does look dangerous. I think you could move some funds to get Mata in over Ramsay if you downgrade Cole?

because the 4 others are proven point grabbers and in form

mata might be good, but its only a punt for now, thus on the same lvl as VDV

Aye but City and Man U also have a viable striker option or two, something which Chelsea lack. Plus Mata has set pieces. I'd say that VDV and Mata are on the same level but again Spurs have Adebayor so no need to get VDV.

I'd probably say no. It looks like he won't be playing off the striker for a while, while he is prone to the odd niggle (particularly when coming back from injury).

Young, Nani, Silva and perhaps Mata and Nasri seem to be better options for now.

bains out & upgrading moses is the plan for next week

also agbonlahor run wont last & long term wont get more than 10-12 goals - where as both dzeko & aguero will

strudige will be rotated esp now drogba is back

    RVP, Rooney, Suarez

    Ruddy, De Laet, Brown, Barkley.

Ruddy at home to Sunderland or Given away at QPR?

Ruddy better chance of clean sheet but Norwich have 0 from 5 so far and conceded 5 pens in 5 games.

Given better chance of making more saves but Villa have a solid defence despite QPR's attack.

I'd play Given over Vorm but Ruddy over Given. If you're not gonna play Ruddy at home to SUN, when will you?

If I was to WC after GW7 what transfers should I do to this team???

    Vorm Ruddy
Bosingwa De Laet Smalling Kompany Simpson
    Young SWP Jarvis Larsson Ferguson
    Aguero Rooney Suarez
    1.3m in the bank

Was thinking of doing Kompany->Ward and Smalling->Jones(If Jons starts instead of Smalling)
Also tinking of Larsson,Jarvis,Suarez and Young-> Adebayor,Sinclair,Nani and Silva

That wil leave me with this.

    Vorm Ruddy
Jones Bosingwa Ward Simpson De Laet
    Nani Silva Sinclair SWP Ferguson
    Aguero Rooney Adebayor

True nothing guaranteed. Would love to see De Jong rampaging from midfield trying to get himself on the scoresheet. I dont think Mancini will keep this open attacking football going. He will melo it down soon.

All, I have made my three transfers (two were free) for this week and the team now looks like this:

    Krul (Ruddy)
Kompany, Bosingwa, Enrique, Simpson (De Laet)
    Silva, Mata, Barton, (Moses, Dyer)
    Suarez, Rooney, Aguero

Not sure on captain and I think moving forward De Laet will likely have to go.

    Any thoughts?

He does but the way he is playing doesn't suggest a hattrick. While Aguero at home with the midfield ammo could score another hattrick. Provided that he starts. 🙂

I sold Suarez this week as he hasn't delivered in recent games and my patience ran out. From now have decided to go on 'real form', rather than 'potential form'. Aguero as captain it is then.

See below extract from rules on FPL site:
Player prices change during the season dependent on the popularity of the player in the transfer market. Player prices do not change until the season starts.
The price shown on your transfers page is a player's selling price. This selling price may be less than the player's current purchase price as a sell-on fee of 50% (rounded up to the nearest £0.1m) will be applied on any profits made on that player.
For example, if you buy a player for £8.3m and when you transfer him his price is £9.0m, his selling price will be £8.6m.

Having in mind that Klasnic is out and Sinclair is playing against Chelsea, your team looks sound. Yet, not sure whether not to bring Sinclair for Baines. Everton is playing away against Man City, which is not good as Man City are scoring goals. Also, Everton have not conceeded only against Blackburn away and, personally, I was not that impressed by their defence against Wigan. So, you may consider a safe bet bringing in Sinclair for Baines (and changing your tactic to 3 5 2 ), just in case Man City start scoring. Good luck.

I am just about to use my wildcard to line up a team strong on set-piece takers. So, I was wondering if any of you is willing to share thoughts about whom better pick - M Petrov (Bolton) or Murphy (Fulham)!

I really like Petrov's runs down the wing, throwing crosses all the time, taking set pieces (corners, free kicks and now penalties). He is also cheaper than Murphy! Yet, Bolton are not only in a dreadful form, but also with a couple of difficult fixtures ahead.

I have not watched any of D Murphy's games this season, yet, he seems to be scoring points, so I guess he is doing well. Just like Bolton, they are not in such a good shape. Yet, the team's performance against Man City and easier fixtures breeds hope that their standing in the upcoming game will improve. Also, Fulham is playing in Europe which can be a double edge sword to his performance.

    So, any thoughts?

The team I am thinking of is:

    Vorm (Ruddy)

R and S Taylor Simpson (Newcastle) (Taylor (Swansea) Tierney (Nor)) - waiting for Everton's fixtures to cool down and I am bringing in Baines for S Taylor

Mata, Nani, Silva, Van der Vart,Murphy/Petrov

Rooney, Di Santo, Adebayor (I will be bringing up Best for him, so I can get enough money for Baines)

    Thanks in advance.

Much better idea. Cheers for that as I will for sure listen to your advice.

Well, I will be playing 3 5 2 hoping that my mids will be doing well - counting more on the assists and occassional goals to score points. Any clean sheet and bonus points will come as an extra.

Best and Di Santo are doing decently well and so are their teams, they are both starting up regularly and fixtures are looking good. Much appreciated one more time.

You won't be able to bring Best in for Adebayor since you already have 3 Newcastle players.

I think its a bit much to treble up on that defence (I can see the logic in doubling up).

Petrov over Murphy, Petrov is infinitely better in open play.

You have to downgrade one of those big mids (even if just to Taarabt, although I'd consider all the way to Dyer), and fix up some of that defence. You can get away with some rotation, but you've left yourself with little options there.

        Cheers for the advices.

"You won’t be able to bring Best in for Adebayor" - well spot it! Although, I am sure that Baines will loose some of his value, I will have to bring up him up right away.

As I will start using a 3 5 2 tactic, Baines is the only defender I would like to bring in to strengthen my defence. So far, the other two defenders (R Taylor and Simpsons) are in top 5 when it comes to total score and fixtures for them are looking good. Bos is the other player whom I like, but I won't have enough money for him.

You are right about Petrov. Yet, for the next couple of fixtures, I am going to bring Murphy in. When Bolton fixture get easier, I will change him for Petrov.
