While the FPL bonus points are yet to be added, the EA PPI Index statistics have been updated and, as it stands, here is a breakdown of how the bonus is currently mapping out. Please note – this is not confirmed and could be subject to change.

Arsenal 3 Bolton 0
Van Persie 3, Song 2, Ramsey 1

Arsenal’s scorers dominate the bonus awards with Aaaron Ramsey picking up the remainder for his part in Van Persie’s opening goal. The Welshman is yet to be credited a second assist for getting a touch to Bacary Sagna’s pass which was converted by Alex Song – we believe that this will be reviewed.

Chelsea 4 Swansea 1
Ramires 3, Bosingwa 2, Mikel 1

Maximum bonus for Ramires with his brace of goals in Chelsea’s victory. Jose Bosingwa’s outstanding season continues with an assist and 2 bonus, while Mikel picks up the single bonus, just edging out Ashley Cole and Juan Mata. Mark Gower and Ashley Williams were the top PPI performers for the Swans.

Liverpool 2 Wolves 1
Suarez 3, Downing 2, Enrique 1

After weeks of missing out on bonus, Luis Suarez at last comes good with the maximum, courtesy of his first-half strike. As we predicted in our ICT analysis, both Stewart Downing and Jose Enrique fetched the remaining bonus. Steven Fletcher was just outside bonus recognition for the visitors.

Man City 2 Everton 0
Milner 3, Hart 2, Aguero, Richards & Balotelli 1

James Milner’s second half strike after emerging from the bench was enough to see him the top PPI ranking and 3 bonus here, while the clean sheet for City saw Joe Hart gain a high PPI score ahead of the back four in front of him, qualifying him for 2 bonus. Two rather unpredictable outcomes. Micah Richards did at least pick up a single point, shared with Sergio Aguero and Mario Balotelli who all recorded identical PPI scores.

Newcastle 3 Blackburn 1
Ba 3, S Taylor 2, Hoilett 1

No surprises here – Ba recorded the top EA PPI score of the gameweek (59) with his hat-trick. Steven Taylor again soaked up bonus points, despite failing to keep a clean sheet this time around. Junior Hoilett, as expected, sneaked in for a single bonus after another superb display for Rovers that included a consolation goal.

QPR 1 Aston Villa 1
Bannan 3, Collins, Ferdinand & Hall 2

As expected, Barry Bannan’s spot-kick conversion saw him gain the maximum bonus from match devoid of standout performers. James Collins shared 2 bonus with Rangers’ Anton Ferdinand and Fitz Hall, as the defences came out on top here.

Stoke 1 Man United 1
Nani 3, Walters & Etherington 2

While Nani’s PPI Index of 22 saw him out in front in this one, below him, there were an array of players all tightly contesting the remaining bonus. Stoke’s pairing of Jon Walters and Matt Etherington shared 2 points each with identical PPI”s, which meant that Rio Ferdinand and Darren Fletcher just missed out.

West Brom 0 Fulham 0
McAuley & Riise 3, Reid 1

Another match with a tight set of PPI scores – it was West Brom’s Gareth McAuley who claimed the maximum, sharing it with John Arne Riise who received an identical PPI. Steven Reid got just a single bonus point for his showing then, with keepers Ben Foster and Mark Schwarzer ranked next in a game were defences dominated.

Wigan 1 Tottenham 2
Van der vaart 3, Bale 2, Modric 1

Tottenham’s goalscorers Van der Vaart and Gareth Bale claimed the top spots here, with an assist helping Luka Modric to a third place PPI ranking and a single bonus point. Emmanuel Adebayor and Mohamed Diame just missed out on recognition.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

for the first time ever I made transfers (last night) before midweek games to beat the price rises (based on predicted Adebayor rise). Did

Ward, Young, Odemwingie (out) -> N. Taylor, Nani, Adebayor (In)

if you tell me this is pants its too late - but tell me anyway

Well I don't know about the cross dressing tendencies of Taylor, Nani and Adebayor but would say that the Young to Nani switch is unlikely to pay off.

I think Nani might steal the free kicks, as for the pens I think Giggs will take them if he's on, probably Nani/Hernandez/Young if he's not, very hard to predict which one imo!

Young free kicks from the left, Nani from the right?

Sounds too simple, but it makes sense to me. Youngs right footed curl from the left is too good to ignore, even with Nani on the pitch.

Is it just me or is there much more of an obsession with knee jerking and as a result, price rises, this season? I rememeber when you could wait until Friday without having to worry about a player rising by more than .1.

The discussion of Nani v Young is redundant.

Nani is clearly the better FF prospect and twice the real-life footballer.

That he's 0.4 cheaper is a quirk of Young's early-season flukey form and nothing more.

No, but Tony V is shadowing him and there is the threat of rotation to save him for a bigger games.

Not sure what you've got against Young tbh, it's irrational considering his great start. Why isn't he worthy?

One-trick pony. Cut inside, deliver a so-so ball into the box. It was the same at Villa.

Nani has developed into arguably the best out-and-out winger in the world.

But I take your point on Valencia.

Obviously the latter. Yeah that's right I said it 😉

Nani is better than Young, but Young is still a class player, he delivers far better than so-so balls into the box. How exactly is he a one-trick pony if he can score goals like he did against Arsenal?

Entitled to your point of view, but I reckon he's offered United another outlet on the left which we've struggled with for the last couple of years. It's no fluke that they look like a better more pacey attacking unit and Young is partly responsible for that.

In terms of FF, he's also on some free kicks. 3 weeks ago, no one was mentioning Nani.

Young is obviously quick and can run with the ball but he's not fit to lace Giggs' boots even at almost 38.

No one was talking about Nani three weeks ago because he'd not built on his display in the Community Shield (when everyone was talking about him).

Nani's output last season was outstanding and he looks every bit as good again.

I'm a little surprised at United fans defending Young so vigorously. He's really not that good.

I think Nani is the better option too, he's done it before at Manchester United and Ashley Young has, quite frankly, lucked out with his two assists for the Rooney free kicks and the own goal at WBA.

Young should still get enough assists to do well, but Nani will always score more goals I'd think. And he's cheaper.

Silva only gets BP's for goals and assists, playing brilliantly and running a match means nothing for the BP monkeys. They basically smash away on the BP button whenever someone scores. It's a great system.

I don't think he's nailed on either. I had a moment there were I thought he came on as a sub and that's why he only got 1 point. I wouldn't want to get rid of him for this game though, imagine if he scored another 4. Improving your midfield is a priority this week I think jinswick.

*Cant believe he made such a scene about a dead leg. Jeezas I had thousands off me brothers.

He didn't look great against the giant and hard-core Stoke DF but it should be different against Norwich.. 🙂

I don't plan to have Berbatov but his 5 goals last season hit me really hard.

    Faurlin, Moses or Bannan?
Is Faurlin nailed on? Moses is 'due' but will he ever actually score? Bannan may not be nailed on but set plays, penos and a good performance yesterday may make up for that?

Yeah tbh so would I all I was saying is that Bent was behind Young in the order last year so it's not like he's Rooney/Ronaldo/Lampard who would never ever lose penalty duties.

Don't remember Bent being behind Young in the penalty pecking order. He's always taken them for Villa when on the field as far as I can remember.

Yeah loads. I mean it was impressive and all but it basically just twatted his head and there was no keeper to stop it.
Have a look at some of Sir Les Ferdinands, he was the best header of a ball I've seen.

According to whoscored.com Hart has :
    62% accurate passes (from 13)
3 accurate long balls (from 8)
2 effective clearances (assuming that are his 2 saves)

That is it. How did he manage to be the second best player on the field. Is it because too many points were deduced from the likes of Silva, Yaya, Nasri, Kompany...Silva was MoM as he was the previous game and maybe in every single game before that. I miss the old bonus system already. This is way to strict and raw. I get it when it is 0:0 and everybody gets some piece of the bonus pie but the last two man city bonuses are simply ridiculous.

The problem for me is that creative players don't score enough PPI. In previous seasons I was cheering for every through pass and shot over the bar knowing that bonus is likely to be given to the most active players on the pitch. Now I beg RVP not to take the free kicks and I curse when someone hits the woodwork and rejoice when a keeper saves my player's penalty (RvP again). We have to w8 and see I guess...

Ok am using my wildcard this week and have gone from having

    Given
    R Taylor, Simpson, Lopez
    Young, Silva, Toure, Mata, Mikel
    Aguero, Rooney,

    Subs: Klasnic, Shotton, Kelly

Now I've got the same back four then

    Nani, Silva, Mata, Dyer, Barton
    Aguero, Rooney and ?

I'm not prepared to lose Rooney yet, but have 8.0 to spend on a striker. Agbonlahor seems the best option but has tough next 6.

I was tempted with Wellbeck or Owen given Norwhich is next opponents but I'm completely at a loss.

    Any advice welcome, thanks!
