While the departure of Cesc Fabregas and the arrival of fellow Spaniard Mikel Arteta at the Emirates triggered a burst of interest in the former Everton man, recent weeks have seen Arteta somewhat overshadowed in Arsenal’s midfield. Arsene Wenger has put his faith in Aaron Ramsey to fill the void left by Jack Wilshere’s ankle injury and the Welshman has flourished. Recent returns have piqued the interest of Fantasy managers and Ramsey is now blinking on the radar as a new source of coverage within an Arsenal side facing up to a run of favourable opponents.

In this latest Members article, we use our Opta data to examine Ramsey’s progress in recent weeks, assess his performances in relation to Arteta, and explore his overall potential within the mid-price Fantasy bracket.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I must say that I love seeing that there are still 44% that have Rooney and are going to be having 12.4 sitting on there bench this weekend. Gives me some hope of catching up this GW.

    Given
    N.Taylor, Bosingwa, Kompany

    Rooney, RVP, Suarez

    Vorm, Barton, Enrique, Simpson

I have used free transfer (don'task!) and having just caught up in minileague am very worried about nani/aguero. I could stick, I could wildcard (say Rooney, Cabaye and Barton to Ade, Nani and HBA), or just Rooney to Aguero for a hit... would really appreciate any comments on this?

There seems to be subtle changes that contribute more to the "realistic" element of the game. Player movement is different and they have definitely stripped away the nonsense of previous releases where certain moves guaranteed you goals. Haven't had much time on it but it's been great so far. Got my ass handed to me in legendary mode so may need to pull it back so I can get that new defensive system under control.

the fact someone is jogging with a hamstring injury is a good sign. I wouldnt be surprised to see him not play. It makes him pulling out the England squad easier that way.

He was jogging on Monday, he tweeted he should be ok for Tuesday and he will want to play against Norwich and for England.

Yeah there is 3 grades of hamstrings IMO, but he hasn't teared his hamstring which is a good sign.

But I can't forget how Rooney stated last year that he never had an ankle injury. Anybody remembers? Its all mind games from Sir Alex IMO, and its so tough to beat him as a fantasy manager.

      Smoke & mirrors.

Wouldn't be surprised if Rooney made a miraculous recovery.

It means exactly that, Hernandez should start while Rooney will likely miss out.

      Its not Rooney's choice though.

He may well be fit but Sir Alex has a decision to make. He has enough quality to theoretically beat Norwich easily without Rooney. But his quandary is that if Rooney starts it becomes harder for him to pull Rooney out of the Internationals.

My guess is that SAF will figure its better not to risk him thereby giving him the perfect excuse to omit Rooney from the england squad.

Rooney situation is causing tons of problems

    A) Rooney – chicarito, arteta – nani (C) for a hit
    B) Rooney – drogba, arteta – nani(C) for a hit
    C) Rooney – Drogba/Chica/RVP no hit… (C) goes to Aguero but no UTD coverage
    D) do nothing. (C) Aguero, rooney on the bench.
