After this weekend just gone I think Doosra is probably right about Aguero.

He used to be 12 .5 for somebody who might score a hat trick or a brace...now he's 13 mill for somebody who might score a goal...plenty of players capable of that for a lot less.

    1. BlzE_94
      • 11 Years
      10 years, 4 months ago

Everyone knows what Aguero can do though. It's scary not owning him and he suddenly finds his form. People saw that with Sanchez this week.

      1. Lallana_
        • 12 Years
        10 years, 4 months ago

It's hard to not captain him for me still. Maybe I'm stubborn.

He's my captain. I went with my gut and captained Sanchez this week and it massively paid off.

        2. Dr Dream
          • 13 Years
          10 years, 4 months ago

I'll have him and (c) him...but if's only a bog standard goal then he's going after the next two.

      2. Dr Dream
        • 13 Years
        10 years, 4 months ago

He doesn't look close to braces and hat tricks....at least Sanchez had the stats to back up the faith. 13 mill is too much for the odd goal.

        1. BlzE_94
          • 11 Years
          10 years, 4 months ago

Forget stats for a moment, at the end of the day they both blanked. Kun could very well get a hatrick regardless of what his stats show from his previous games.

His stats have still been very good. Not as impressive as Sanchez's before his haul but still what you would expect from a 13m striker

            • 13 Years

Almost 50% of Sanchez for threat for the first seven game weeks....

True but nobody has a clue which big hitter to get with that cash. Monitoring Sturridge at the moment. He might compliment Sanchez instead of Aguero soon.

Yep....A goal doesn't justify 13 mill...It's hauls that justify that price tag.

Yes, but I'll still hold for the two juicy games on tap. Newcastle and Bournemouth at home could be just what Aguero needs to get a big haul (a la Sanchez and Leicester).

      1. Frank Black
        • 13 Years

Tottenham was his favorite team to score against and he didn't even score one. Ok, Spurs are defensively better this season which is why i'm not saying he should have scored three or four, but he didn't even score ONE nor did he look like he was close to do so.

        1. Dr Dream
          • 13 Years

It can be really hard to recognise when a player is just not performing...and won't...

Aguero had always been the top for touches in the box for a long time...not any more...

Again. Agree. Perhaps I should fold with a bad hand....

The issue is if you think his under performance is permanent or if he will break out of his slump. I think he may very well break his slump against one of these two teams.

True dat, but Spurs away is a much tougher game than either Newcastle or Bournemouth at home. I play for the big haul, and can't see the risk / reward advantage of selling Aguero with those two attractive home fixtures up next. That is me. You or mr. Wakes should follow your instincts. I know you know that the truth is out there, csm.

I'd agree with that, too. Sturridge is also an option if Aguero continues to non perform. Maybe Chelsea turn it around with easy schedule, and Costa becomes viable again.

If you could afford Wilson and Gomis to drop again without losing SV would you bench Wilson this GW? Means I can use 2ft next week to remove him and Gomis for free? I can also monitor Ayoze and see if Steve is going to stick with two up top? Or would you just remove them for a -4?

Why can't you just sell 1 now and 1 next week if you know you're going to sell both? Pretty sure Newcastle will play same side next week as they did this one. Perez has looked one of the better players so far.

Pretty good attack.... the problems are in defence but you cannot have it all.

Is it worth taking -4 to take out chadli and bring in mane? Against a Chelsea that can't keep clean sheets.... or shall I jus wait and do it for free next week

    Early thoughts?
    Who to bench:

Payet (sun) Mahrez (nor) Yaya (NEW) Barkley (LIV) Sánchez (MUN)
Ighalo (bou) Sturridge (eve) Pellè (che)

Currently on Ighalo or Barkley and AOA is not an option.
    Thanks guys!

Yaya injury status may decide for you. Otherwise, Barkley is the least likely to score of at lot.

normally I would bench Pelle because he mostly scores at home. But Chelsea defence was so poor till now and Pelle has many chances in games that I didn't want to see my points on the bench.

      Tough call but Ighalo.

    Thoughts on these trades

Silva, Gomis and Wilson > Mata, Lukaku and Vardy for a hot of -4

    Current team is

    DDG (McCarthy)
    Kolarov, Dawson, Williams (Gomez, Targett)
    Sanchez, Silva, Payet, Mahrez (Sako)
    Kun, Gomis, Wilson

I would get other player than Vardy, you already have Mahrez.

    Team solid or nah?

    Butland
Francis | Kolarov | Dann (3 playing at home)
    Pedro | Mata | Payet | Coutinho | Mahrez
Kun (C) | Gomis (giving Gomis his last chance)

    A) -4 Darmian/Wilson to Dawson/Vardy
    B) -4 Pedro/Wilson to Payet/Vardy
    C) Wilson to Igalho
