Arsene Wenger and Manuel Pellegrini confirm that Alexis Sanchez and Sergio Aguero were withdrawn for precautionary reasons ahead of the upcoming internationals. West Brom have worries in defence, whilst Liverpool’s playmaker pulls out of the Brazil squad due to injury earlier today. Here’s our round up of the weekend injury news…

Arsenal
Alexis Sanchez came off after 81 minutes against Manchester United in visible discomfort, though Arsene Wenger was quick to allay fears over any injury, confirming that the wide man is set to feature for Chile in the upcoming internationals:

“He has a little groin problem. Unfortunately he goes to Chile. You cannot stop him from going to Chile and he loves so much to play for his country and he will play against Brazil [on Friday] and Peru [next] Tuesday so the game at home against Brazil he will not want to miss. Hopefully he will come back in good shape.”

Aston Villa
Ciaran Clark sat out the Villains’ 1-0 home defeat to Stoke City after picking up a thigh strain, Tim Sherwood has confirmed.

Chelsea
Goalscorer Willian was replaced by Loic Remy at the 64-minute mark of Chelsea’s home clash against Southampton, with Jose Mourinho later explaining that he took counsel with the club doctor after the Brazilian became ill during the break:

“When the fans boo the Willian decision, I would do that too if I didn’t know he was vomiting at half-time and the doctor said it would be hard for him to carry on.”

Leicester City
Jamie Vardy received a heavy blow to the knee in the first half of Leicester’s trip to Norwich City but was able to carry on and complete the match. Claudio Ranieri sought to allay fears over the form striker’s fitness, insisting that Vardy sustained no serious damage from the collision:

“No, nothing serious. When I saw Vardy on the ground I thought it was a bad injury because Jamie never stays down. When he came close to our bench, the physio said it was his knee, but he was stable and he continued to play.”

Liverpool
Philippe Coutinho has withdrawn from Brazil’s squad ahead of their World Cup qualifiers, with Liverpool’s official site offering no details on the nature of his injury.

Danny Ings confirmed he sustained a minor injury during the Merseyside derby but expects to be fit for upcoming England duties:

”I struggled through the game – I just got my ankle caught in Phil Jagielka’s legs. As the game went on I felt that I couldn’t move as much. It will be assessed but should be fine.”

Manchester City
Following his five-goal frenzy, Sergio Aguero was substituted after 66 minutes at the Etihad. Manuel Pellegrini said that the Argentine marksman received treatment at half time after taking kicks to his back and hamstring in the first period, so the Sky Blues boss elected to exercise caution and manage Aguero’s minutes:

“He had treatment at half time, and to give him more minutes he could have scored but we must be cautious about his fitness, because he could be injured. Last season Kun finished the season without any problem. He is doing a different preparation, so I’m not worried about injuries, you can be injured by kicks of course but muscle injuries he should not have any more.”

Newcastle United
Newcastle United defender Kevin Mbabu picked up a hamstring complaint in the process of trying to prevent Aguero scoring his third goal of an eventual 6-1 thrashing. The Switzerland U19 international is now set to undergo a scan to ascertain the extent of his injury.

Norwich City
Lewis Grabban rolled his ankle during training last week so was ruled out of the Foxes clash, but Alex Neil expects him to be sidelined for longer than a week.

Stoke City
Marko Arnautovic was subbed off 21 minutes from time after scoring the only goal during the Potters’ visit to Villa Park. Mark Hughes played down the reason for the winger’s withdrawal:

“He just cramped up in his back which needed unlocking.”

Meanwhile, Mame Biram Diouf was stretchered off in the second half after damaging his hip. Hughes admitted that the striker is unlikely to team up with Senegal during the international break.

“He’s been in a bit of pain. He’s got an issue with his hip and hopefully hasn’t done anything to the capsule in the joint. But he’s struggling to walk and I’d be surprised if he meets up with his international team because he’s in a lot of pain and can’t weight bear.”

Swansea
Kyle Naughton missed yesterday’s home draw with Spurs due to personal reasons, reports in the local press have confirmed.

Watford
Jose Manuel Jurado missed Watford’s trip to Bournemouth with a hamstring injury, while Ikechi Anya has been given the go ahead to travel with Scotland despite being subbed off with a leg injury.

West Bromwich Albion
Jonny Evans lasted just 24 minutes at Crystal Palace after picking up a hamstring strain, while James Morrison took a blow to his ankle in the second half. Both players underwent scans to determine the extent of their injuries:

“We’ve got a problem with (James) Morrison – he’s felt his ankle. The home nations, we want to help them as much as we can. Me in particular, if I can. Fingers crossed they’ll be okay. If they’re anywhere near it, we’ll give them a chance to play. It will be all down to the doctor. He’ll scan them tomorrow. The scans now are fantastic so he’ll know whether they’re serious injuries or not.”

Elsewhere in the Baggies camp, Gareth McAuley suffered a recurrence of the calf injury that saw him miss the home clash with Everton last Monday. The defender is expected to recover in time to start for Northern Ireland during their World Cup qualifiers.

Darren Fletcher has trained for Scotland earlier today despite picking up a knock during West Brom’s loss at Palace.

West Ham United
Winston Reid was subbed off after 66 minutes at the Stadium of Light, whilst Victor Moses has withdrawn from international duties with Nigeria, claiming a lack of fitness.

I was going to do Sinclair > Wanyama this week to free up cash, but now it's looking to be Darmian out..too much money for someone 2 YCs from a ban, getting subbed before 60, with those fixtures in next 2 and the defense looking out of sorts..BUT then I see the fixtures GW11 and on

    Hey guys,

    Hoping for some advice.

    Cech
    Williams Azpi Kolarov
    Mahrez Payet Shaqiri Sanchez
    Sakho Aguero (c) Berahino

    Cedric, Sinclair, Huth

Still got my wildcard but think I can still suck some life out of this bunch.

Sold Mane for Shaqiri 3 weeks ago - terrible move - time to make the same switch back?

1.3 mil in the bank. Help appreciated.

I'd like to say a big thankyou to this forum for persuading me to hold on to Sanchez 3 weeks ago, and for persuading me to hold on to KDB 2 weeks ago.

If only there was a way to lock me out of my transfers page from Mon-Thu each week, I'd probably end the season far better off.

Personally, I feel he wont walk into any team in the PL. Can walk into any German clubs team. I've been a huge follower of the German side and one thing is for sure that slow games suit him. I was one of the very few who felt he won't adapt to the PL and I felt that its a step backward for United as Herrera could've evolved.

But he's the perfect man to be a leader. If united would've started him the occasional matches it'd have been a masterclass as people can learn, but being a regular is a step backward given that he isn't top class anymore and I feel Herrera has huge potential.

YNWA at Dortmund is something else, I'm afraid 😉

That's my issue, it really isn't a very new adventure at all aside from moving to England. Everybody keeps saying just how similar the cities are, the fans are, the clubs are etc. So why ditch Dortmund after leading them to a disappointing finish? (I follow Borussia quite closely, so I'm a bit disappointed at the thought that he may have just have upped and ditched them).

This exactly, as we have discussed a few times before.

People think that Klopp is a tactical genius - but it's Buvac who makes the tactic and trains the players for it. People think that Klopp is great on transfer market, but it's Zorc who is in control of transfers and Mislintat who finds/evaluates the targets. Klopp is mostly just a leader, and a very top one as that.

Yes sir, was looking forward to having someone else on board who knows the situation.

If they manage to get Buvac in with Klopp (though I know he has a national manager position now) it'd be a very nice acquisition. Zorc is going nowhere and I believe Mislintat is still head scout for Dortmund (open to correction on that).

I agree, Klopp performs his role very well, so Liverpool have to look to create a similar environment for him.

The job he did at Dortmund was incredible, not only to win 2 titles but to get them to the CL final - that is a remarkable achievement. The other thing is that the players seemed to absolutely adore him, he seems a lovely man, and someone who would be able to attract a level of players above the level that Rodgers could.

      Plus, there's this:

      Madness.

I'm a Dortmund fan, and some of football played under Klopp was the most exciting I've ever seen. He's an inclusive man manager, whilst having distinct tactical nous & an impressive counter-attacking style. If you think that a "safe pair of hands" English manager who knows the premier league is a better option than Klopp then you are nothing short of deluded.

He got them to do very well in CL against great teams. Arsenal, City, Napoli, Real Madrid. Dortmund were usually drawn in a very tough group and he gets out of it. His leadership skills is amazing, Dortmund played some exciting fast football, 4ish passes and it's a goal. It's premature to say he'll succeed but it's foolish to say he'll flop.

We have to give Klopp a chance. He will come into a team built by and set up how Rodgers has wanted them to play for 3 season and we expect Klopp to just click his fingers and get them to play his way? It will take a season or atleast a good off season for them to play his way. I'm a United fan but I like Liverpool and love the way Klopp goes about it. Very passionate. I think he will do well, good luck to him!

If I bought Yaya for 8.7 in GW3 and his value is 8.6 in my team at the moment with an overall value of 8.8, does this mean I will lose 0.1 when he drops tonight?

You have the 8.7 and 8.6 the wrong way round. But yes you will lose 0.1 if he drops from 8.8 to 8.7. The value in your team will drop to 8.6

If you bought him at 8.5m and he's 8.8m now, your selling value will still be 8.6m when he drops to 8.7m.

    PEDRO Payet Sanchez Mahrez Sinclair
    Kun martial WILSON

what do i do with this team ????????????????

0.2 itb and will at least do 3 transfers for -4 as got 100pts this week

    would love mane , kdb

those that aren't playing are your concern, should certainly make wilson a priority, then targett and gomez. would also wait till the international games are done before you do business.

also don't think you should do a -4.

maybe for wilson get ighalo or ayoze to free budget

also, maybe you have too many big hitter dfs, would consider getting rid of one a few weeks down the line to free budget, probably kol if clichy comes back, and with zabaleta back sagna also threatens the lb position.

Why do you have to do 3 transfers?

2 transfers could get you rid of wilson and pedro (I'm assuming they are in capitals as you want to get rid?).
Wilson should be the priority as he is ruled out for months. If you ditch Pedro at the same time then your budget means you can get practically any forward you want.
Then with your change you get in whatever you can afford.

I wouldn't take a hit to get rid of Gomez or Targett - as this would mean that whichever defender you get in needs to get a clean sheet to justify the hit. The league is so mental this year that there is no team with guaranteed CS returns so it isn't worth it! I'm in the same boat with Gomez and Targett sitting on my bench - just got to eat up those price falls....

Also agree with Le Flem below - wait until after the internationals, always injuries that can affect your squad or the guy you want to bring in. Don't want to waste a transfer.

Did similar move last week (YYT to Mane, Wilson to Vardy) and was pretty pleased with the results!!

As you've got Kun and Sanchez you're going to struggle to fit in KDB as well without affecting the overall balance of your team. Who would go in order to finance getting him in?
You'd need to balance up potential points gains with the potential loss from bringing in a deadweight....
