After delving into the Gameweek 5-8 data for Defenders yesterday afternoon, we now set our sights on the midfielders. Arsenal’s in-form duo arrive under analysis, whilst we also cast an eye over City and West Ham’s summer signings and analyse the recent displays of Southampton’s wide men as the fixtures turn in their favour.

Nah, probably just a manky birds eye beef burger, undercooked and falling apart.

Served in a brioche bun though.

Some kid on my team has ordered a steak a £11.95. For that price its probably crap.

Wouldn't be my choice, especially when there are a few decent Thai places just across the road from where I work in the centre.

Just over the zebra crossing is a Chinese restaurant with a decent lunchtime menu for £6.95.

The only chain I eat in without trepidation is Wagamama. I live in Brum and it is always best to go Chinese or Thai. (Balti is massively overrated.)

What's your plan B if we start to see Mahrez rotated. Selling Value @ 6, I don't see much value around the 6 mill mark, might have to really cut into my defence if this is the case.

Who's the best replacement around 6-7 mill?

Quite a few....Tadic looking good at the higher end...Milner could find himself higher up the pitch as he did for the last two...Cabaye has found his shooting boots...Hoolahan is better than his price tag...Plus some others.

At least Pedro had one or two decent games...mot outstanding though.

Ivan in particular has been possibly one of the worst defenders in the whole prem, not just at Chelsea. He seems to be getting skinned every single week...

I think the problem is they didn't do anything this summer. Began the pre-season very late by comparison to other Premier League teams, not much improvement via the transfer market/embedding in youth products.

What have you been watching? Ivanovic has been terrible in every game except for the Arsenal match against 10/9 men. Montero, Sterling, Bolasie, Naismith, Tadic all had field days against him.

Guys, I have a very important question for you 🙂

I absolutely need to ditch Gomez today as he's -95.1 on fplstatistics right now and I had him since he was 4.5. Still can't decide who to replace him. 0.4 itb, 1 FT

    A) Ward
    B) Evans
    C) Janmaat
    D) ?

For me Ward seems like the best choice (attacks more, full back, palace better team than wba) IF he will indeed be fit 17 Oct, as physioroom says. Thoughts? Thanks!

Why do you think so? He was -93 yesterday on fplstatistics and today he is already at -95.1. Surely I don't see him lasting another 10 days.

evans seems a safe pick at first glance with Pulis but is extremely injury prone. janmaat has potential for attacking returns but Newcastle is a mess at the back. i'd pick a healthy Ward if one is risk averse, Janmaat if risk loving. Both good picks

I spotted the thread about what makes a club a "big club" earlier...here's my view.

The top three "big clubs" in the country are Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle....

The reason I say that is that football in Liverpool and Newcastle, as a culture, is far higher than in any other part of the country..It's not just football, it's part of who they are..and it's all about their football team/s of the their City....

Unless you have actually lived or worked in Newcastle or Liverpool it's hard to understand just how big a part of daily life it is...

    Just my view.

So on your principle Sunderland must be the biggest out of the lot.

Dunno...I've never been to Sunderland or worked there so i'll take your word for it...

All I know is that the whole of Liverpool and Newcastle are almost consumed by football...

Sunderland is exactly the same. No way you can say newcastle and not Sunderland. The mood of the whole city changes depending on whether they win or lose. In terms of the football being in the supporters blood and living and breathg it, Sunderland up with the very top. We still can't attract any players though so not sure most will agree with your view these types of clubs are the biggest in the country.

Winning trophies is neither here nor there to me...What matters is the town/city and the way it is part of the culture of the town/city....If Sunderland is the same as Newcastle then to the folk of Sunderland it's a very big club...

      Sunderland too then

        As above...

When Blackburn won the title the whole of the town became immersed in footy...It was massive...Sadly those "fans" have long gone now. Liverpool and Newcastle is like that all the time though...good, bad or average footy is very big part of their culture.

I think it's fair to say Sunderland folk are as obsessed with footy as Geordies or Scousers.

Then Sunderland are a big club....If they are as big a part of every day life as what I've seen in Newcastle and Liverpool then there's nobody bigger...

Agree worldwide following and also honours makes you a big club.

Two of the most followed clubs in the world are Man Utd and Liverpool.

Their are many ways to decide what makes a "big club"..no arguments from me on that. When it comes to how much the local teams mean to the people of a City it's very hard to think of any place bigger than Newcastle or Liverpool....

Would Real Madrid have such a large following without their superstar players?

I doubt it, Real Madrid came up with the idea of Galaticos in the 90's when their popularity dropped before that.

Man Utd and Liverpool have maintained their fan base without superstar players.

Their is romanticism associated with clubs such as Man Utd and LFC which draws people towards supporting them.

It's al a bit alien to me. I've been going on Ewood since about 1970..it's in my blood. During that time Liverpool, United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona etc have had some fantastic teams...great teams...but it means nowt to me...
