Daniel Sturridge misses Liverpool’s trip to Tottenham with a minor knee knock. Southampton and Bournemouth have concerns over their first-choice keepers, whilst Samir Nasri’s hamstring problem adds to City’s injury list…

Arsenal
Gabriel and David Ospina both missed Arsenal’s trip to Watford due to illness and a shoulder problem respectively.

Earlier today, Arsene Wenger has confirmed the defender is available for their midweek Champions League showdown with Bayern, though Ospina has been ruled out again.

Bournemouth
Artur Boruc is scheduled for a scan after sustaining a thigh injury during the warm-up at Manchester City. Cherries boss Eddie Howe also revealed that Marc Pugh could only make the bench due to injury:

“Artur will have a scan and we’ll wait to see the extent of it. We hope, because he was pulled out before the game, that it is not serious damage but we’ll wait until the results. He has been away with Poland so we haven’t seen a great deal of him over the past two weeks and for him to pick up that injury in the warm-up, it’s another one we couldn’t really control but we’ll hopefully get him back into action very quickly…In terms of Marc Pugh missing out, he hadn’t trained in the international break because of a rib injury. In a sense, my team selection was forced upon me.”

Chelsea
Pedro and Loic Remy have both been ruled out of Chelsea’s Champions League clash with Dynamo Kiev on Wednesday evening due to minor injuries. Earlier today, Jose Mourinho went on to say:

“We have other options and it would be big risk to play them.”

Leicester City
Claudio Ranieri expects Leonardo Ulloa to be fit for next Gameweek after missing Leicester’s trip to Southampton with a minor thigh problem.

Liverpool
Daniel Sturridge was sidelined for Liverpool’s trip to Tottenham after picking up a minor injury in training. Jurgen Klopp shed further light on Sturridge’s absence in his post-match presser, saying that he suffered nothing more serious than swelling in his knee. The Reds’ newly installed boss is hopeful that the ex-Chelsea forward will be available for selection when the Merseysiders host Rubin Kazan on Thursday, whilst Christian Benteke is also expected to return:

“We had a bad week with injuries. The best news is it’s not a serious thing with Daniel. But in a week like this with two ACL, we could not risk it. Daniel had a one-on-one situation with Jordon Ibe in training; I didn’t see it but after he said he had a little pain in a muscle. We made a diagnosis and screened him to be sure – we can see a little bit of swelling but nothing really serious. So we have to see. I hope he’s ready to play on Thursday…Danny Ings needs time, obviously, but Benteke could be back for Kazan or Southampton.”

Manchester City
Having entered the fray at the 62-minute mark against Bournemouth, Samir Nasri was forced to play through a hamstring problem at the Etihad in light of Man City using their full complement of substitutes. Manuel Pellegrini admitted that the French playmaker is now a serious doubt for the Sky Blues’ home tie against Sevilla on Wednesday:

“Nasri had a problem with his hamstring. I don’t know because I didn’t talk with the doctor yet but I think it will be very difficult for him [to play on Wednesday]. Unfortunately we knew that he was feeling something after we made the third change, so if not maybe I can change him before. He didn’t run too much, he stayed in the middle, so we’ll see in the next day what happens with him.”

Yaya Toure was passed fit for the Cherries’ visit but was hauled off at the break. Pellegrini explained that he didn’t want to risk affording the Ivorian midfielder further minutes given his recent niggling injuries and inactivity over the international break:

“It was not thinking about Sevilla, it was thinking about Yaya. He just played 45 minutes in the Champions League before he got in an injury. In the first ten days of the international break he did nothing so I thought 45 minutes was enough. It was not an important injury but one which prevented him from playing games.”

Southampton
Maarten Stekelenburg picked up a back injury during Saints’ Friday’s training session, paving the way for Kelvin Davis to earn his first league start of the campaign. Ronald Koeman revealed “we will have to wait a couple of days” before knowing whether his first-choice stopper will be available for the weekend trip to Liverpool.

Sunderland
Duncan Watmore sat out Sunderland’s road tie against West Bromwich Albion with a minor hamstring complaint. Jack Rodwell is also a major concern ahead of the Tyne-Wear derby as he struggles to shake off a persistent ankle knock.

Tottenham Hotspur
Nacer Chadli was withdrawn after 11 minutes of Spurs’ home tie against Liverpool after damaging his ankle. After the match, Mauricio Pochettino suggested that the Belgian winger might’ve suffered an ankle ligament injury:

“We need to assess tomorrow and after tomorrow we will know more. Maybe it’s a problem in his ankle ligaments but we hope it is not a big, big issue. After the game it was painful and in the next 24 or 48 hours we will be able to see better how the injury is.”

Got a week to think of a cheap replacement for Redmond (who has these upcoming..)

    West Brom (h)
    M.City (a)
    Swansea (h)
    Chelsea (a)
    Arsenal (h)
    Watford (a)
    Everton (h)
    M.United (a)

Quite a tricky set of fixtures right. People i'm eyeing up:

Clasie (£5.3) - One player I wanted at the beginning but got injured. Played 30 minutes on Saturday. Will wait till he gets 90 minutes but I had hight hopes.
Sissoko (£5.7) - good fixtures coming up. Newcastle might stop being rubbish?
M'vila (£5.0) - Sunderland player, so naturally - eww. Decent enough fixtures for a few weeks before s*** hits the fan. Heard a lot of good things about him before he arrived.
Can (£5.3) - might not be a bad punt now Klopp is playing him central. Doubt I will though as he doesn't score much. One to watch I suppose.
Alli (£4.9) - Cheap and seems to feature a lot. Seems good for assists. Worried that he'll get dropped when Mason returns though.. Muchacho Apparently due back next week, you'll be pleased to read!
Sigurdsson (£7.3) - He is due to stop being naff soon. Bit more pricey but would be worth it. Did well over the break too. Better option than Ayew though (who is cheaper)? Will wait til after Monday.

Saying all of that. I currently £8.2 to spend. I really don't need to be that tight..

Any thoughts? Would you stick? I already have Sanchez, Payet, Mata, Westwood (bench boy) and I've set up for 3-4-3. A nice cheap player for < £6.0 would be grand.

Why such interest in defensive/holding midfielders? They offer minimal FPL returns. Awful choices.

Ain't many amazing choices in that price range. I'd be willing to read some alternatives though (I don't want to spend too much as the money spent will be taken from Aguero's funds).

I'm always up for a punt, it's not like I'm trying to win the game. Did it a few times last season (Mahrez actually) and that worked wonders as that was the start of his new form. But I still like to do well. Either way, I want rid of Nathan.

Ayew or Sigurdsson looks good for next 5 fixtures.

M'Vila is a good punt and lacks some luck from Wijnaldum.

Alli for the upcoming two fixtures is a big gamble but is he nailed on?

        Willian does. Chelsea don't.

Actually, at £6.8 he is priced well enough that he doesn't destroy my budget.. Only concern is Jose. Villa was Willian's first 90 minutes for the season!

I would prefer tadic over clasie
      Georginio over sissoko
      Lens over m'vila
Alli got 2 assists the other day by being fouled, and eriksen scored a brace of fks so no thanks
Others to consider would be cabaye or willian

Good point about Alli. And like I mentioned, doesn't look good with Mason due back next GW.

All of my picks are cheap options mind.

Georginio is £1.1 more expensive than Sissoko
M'Vila is £1.4 cheaper than Lens
        Tadic is £7.0 compared too Clasie's £5.3

Like I said, I have the funds, but a cheap punt is a bit more exciting.

I'm sure you all know about the Bet365 £50 promos they do every now and then, so I won't bother explaining.

Question is, in the Arsenal v Bayern match what would you bet on in play with your free £50 bet?

-has to be in play. But can be used anytime during the game.

Personally, seeing as the bet is almost completely free (I use Betfair exchange to lay the original £50), I like to take a punt as there's no risk in it.

        I'm thinking of going 2-2

Seeing as Dier now has the slate wiped clean, he's got to be a better Gomez replacement than Toby right? Or go with Bellerin? Or all out on Smalling for GW11 onwards..?

Dier looks good but he picks up yellow easily. Bellerin is better.

Not convinced with Dier tbh . Spurs attack was rather disjointed , back in the day he was getting attacking returns. Dont expect a lot going forward , so it's Toby for me , Bellerin too

            Risky.

I might even get Simpson at 3.9 for this week, then bench, and upgrade Saylor next week when the picture becomes clearer as he needs to go along with Gomez too.

I’m looking to get in cheap DEF and MID to allow for players I want from week 12, i.e. Mahrez -> Barkley. With this in mind, they will stay on my bench but at the same time keen for them if injuries hit to be playing 90 minutes and getting ‘some’ return until I can address the situation. Something we have all felt in the past few weeks – I had Gomez, Kolorov, Wilson and Aguero to deal with last week and still have Gomez to manage out…As such, what’s your best all out budget DEF and MID’s that play every week for weeks 13-16 and beyond? So far I have:

      DEF’s:
Francis 4.5 BOU – seems to be nailed every week, was getting returns when they had a purple patch and a good option for the bench.
Prodl 4.5 WAT – I already have in my side since the start, impressive stats and getting the all important CS’s at home
Simpson 3.9 LEI – is he nailed on? Seems to be getting minutes, and a VERY cost effective option!

      MID’s:
M’Via 5.0 SUN – yes it’s Sunderland but for 5.0 he’s getting 90 mins and as I said this is a bencher for when you need points in case of injury
Wanyama 4.3 SOT – is he worth the investment as a back up? He is getting minutes but Southampton haven’t the defensive resolve of late – but his cost is so appealing.
Barry 4.3 EVE – getting lots of playing time, and more importantly going into the purple patch could be a viable option for CS and bonus!

Anyone else have any budget suggestions around the 5m mark or below for both defenders and Mids?

Even if Simpsons isn't nailed on, he is a good 5th defender worth the rotation in our team and most importantly, the price!

Normally detest the idea of -8s...but i dislike my team, and so i'm struggling to be patient.

Ighalo, Westwood, Kolorov --> Vardy, Payet, Moreno.
[Just enough cash (hence rush to do it). Would give me a far more balanced squad...]

Could maybe get away with Iggy + Kolly -> Vardy + Moreno, then do the Payet move next week...but i know i want Lukakaaaa for SUN...

I was just talking about this for some of the articles this week. I personally think that as his players get used to it their strategy seems to be to knacker themselves and the opposition out. This could mean like with Spurs lots of 0-0 unless they can use that to their advantage first half. I'm also not sure how Sturridge or Benteke will be able to handle the pace.

I think it elevates their defenders against tough sides, and has the potential to elevate their attackers against the minnows.

I don't know why the general consensus on here seems to be that Mason will immediately be given a first team place and Delle Alli will be dropped.

Mason is now out of favour. Delle Alli will play ahead of him.

I'd be more worried about Demebele's inclusion after his performance against Liverpool on Saturday.

I know. I've argued with a few people over it. One guy saying, stats, form and fixtures don't look good, he's on the slide. Someone suggested he has still scoring EVERY week, and said, "Yes, points-wise, but have you seen his stats". WTF? The main stat is how many points he keeps scoring!!

And you're spot on. He's pretty much fixture-proof, and everything goes through him. He's looking like a season keeper to me.

Maybe they don't twerk, who knows, but they jerked mighty fine for Aguero, didn't they? 😉

Fair enough. And it is often about knowing when to ump to the next wagon. I don't think this is a wagon you want to get off.

I've had Payet from GW 1 and though I hate to lose him , think he will be gone on GW 11 wc.

Its him or Mane , and I prefer what Mane brings to the game. Agree with Newcastle;s run of fixtures they could well go on a good run , so Windjammin a worthy punt

Payet will tick over all season. Silly to get rid. Especially if you got him at base cost.

Yeah , but have to look at team as a whole. . If you can only afford a Mane or a Payet (have both)
I prefer Mane , could be wrong , but so be it

Exactly plus Lukaku and Jagielka and Bertrand need to be in my team so i guess might do Eriksen or Payet to Wjinaldum to cash in

*Buvac. And there's a second part to it:

We have the ball = play the ball up fast and everybody run in attack.

This is how my 5 year old son and his team mates play football and it seems to work, despite the fact that they also try to tackle their own players....

Which move should be given max priority?

      A) Sako to Wijnaldum (to rotate with Mahrez)
      B) Gomis to Lukaku/Pelle. Suggest!
      C) Kolarov to Toby/Van Dijk/Bertrand

C if you can put out a strong front 7 this week. Get Toby I reckon after the europa game.

If I do C my front 7 will be
          Sanchez Payet Mahrez Mane
          Costa Gomis Vardy

I'd hold on to Gomis (unless injured or suspended tonight) for their match against Villa - then swap to Lukaku for his match vs Sunderland.

If you're going to rotate Mahrez and Wijnaldum, I suspect Wijnaldum would be on the bench for GW10? If so wait - if he gets injured or suspended you'll have saved yourself a transfer.

If you're happy to take a hit (GW11) then I'd recommend Kolarov to Toby, if not then save the transfer and do A and B in GW11.

        What's your defence like?
