Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

        agreed on the second part, flogging VVD this week

        On the first bit, it's certainly true at this point, but for how much longer given that the two times Koeman has picked Yoshida ahead of him Yoshida has been terrible

    Gameweek 18 is going to be the the toughest captaincy decision to date and benching dilemma.

    Kane vs Norwich (h)
    Lukaku vs Newcastle (a)
    Kun vs Sunderland (h)
    Studge vs Leics (h)

    All the above fixtures scream out big scoring opportunities for the strikers.

    Genuinely feel for Rooney. Yes, he joined a brand but how old was he at the time? 17? He's tried escaping several times since. All he's done for them and the fans (those that actually remain) have turned on him. I genuinely think the best thing for Man Utd would be another couple of bad seasons - the fans that haven't left already leave for whoever else has a bit of success and he can play with the pressure off. He's the best English player of the generation

      1. Somalion
        • 16 Years
        10 years, 1 month ago

        That's not my issue with him. I just think he has a lousy attitude, and has for a long time.

        I do have sympathy for players that have a rough time or who want to leave a club for personal reasons. But he threatened to join both Chelsea and City unless United paid him higher wages. This went on and on, started it again under Moyes, bumped them up to a £300k a week contract and his own media rights (worth millions) then proceeds to look like he hadn't kicked a ball for months on end. I don't blame him alone, I blame the club as well and certain fans. Any other player who behaved like that would have been out on his ear, but not Wayne, Fergie and all the board rolled out the red carpet for him.

        Even now, regardless of performances this season he gets the CAM spot over someone like Mata, a far superior CAM, not on merit but because of his protected position in the club.

    GW 17 is when we need to be in top 2m in this particular GW in order to qualify to the cup.

    Everton v Leicester
    Watford v Liverpool
    Arsenal v City
    Southampton v Spurs

    Most popular FPL options this season playing in those 4 games. The probability of failing in this GW and not qualifying is high, isn't it?

    Got a FT and want Alderweireld in for his form and fixtures, but who to drop?

    Bellerin - Good fixtures, good attacking form. Arsenal are however very defensively shakey with Coquelin out, and I don't see many clean sheets even in the easier fixtures.

    Smalling - Surely undroppable considering all UTD are concerned about is not conceding

    Moreno - Again good fixtures and good attacking form. Liverpool defensively getting better but still shakey. As a bonus he's also incredibly cheap.

    So going by this it seems like only Bellerin can be dropped. But is this a worthwhile transfer or is it a waste?

    @Vardy Gras.

    30pts for five players is good value...and the bit that a lot of that game don't understand. Here's my take on it.

    If they are picks that increase the number of sub ins to ensure a full bench(ish) for each gameweek (careful planning) then it actually fifteen opportunities to replace the duff 0pt,1pt and 2pt picks that occur in MD1 every week, no matter how good your MD1 team...and again for any duff picks left over going into MD3.

    Those increased pts potential aren't just for the players you actually bring in (unlike fpl) but they are for the increased opportunities for pts across the squad...if that makes sense...especially as you can change formation during the GW.

    Having the chance to change fifteen 0,1 or 2 pt starters with fresh legs will soon pay back 30pts.

    DDG, McCarthy
    Kolarov, Bellerin, Dawson, Nyom, Francis

    Should I use a FT on this defence? Not sure if all are nailed over Xmas. Need some Spurs/Liverpool back there.

            I do that. I love Jaffa cakes. They are cakes by the way. Biscuits go soft as they age cakes go hard.

    Butland
    Bellerin - Moreno - van Dijk/Dann
    Hazard - KDB - Ozil - Mahrez
    Kane - Lukaku - Vardy

    van Dijk/Dann - Dawson - Westwood
    1FT 2.5 ITB

    A) Save
    B) VvD -> Alderweireld
    C) Hazard -> Barkley
    D) Westwood -> Stanislas

    If not B) then play one:
    1) van Dijk
    2) Dann

    Realize I should've waited until tomorrow night given alternative C, but I want some other opinions as early as possible. Cheers all.

    If you support a Championship club too - please never assume that a lack of performance relates to a lack of effort. Sometimes the opposition are just that good
