Following the weekend result at the theatre of nightmares, I finally find the enthusiasm to pick myself off the floor, dust down and into the studio. As I would expect, Mark isn’t too keen to let things pass unmentioned.

I quickly switch the discussion to my 70-point weekend. I’m a happy man with a Van, with smatterings of Suarez frustration and Dzeko regret thrown in.

Two things I regret from this episode. I kind of hope nobody hears me mention coveting Nicklas Bendtner. It’s like I’ve just come out. Anyway, I’ve joined the support group.

Secondly, I tempted fate spectacularly by mentioning that Luis Suarez had failed to score more than once in a match for Liverpool. Hours later, he kicked me in the unmentionables for the second time in a week. The swine.

Oh and another thing, I went into to the recording with one mission – to mention the early kick-off at Goodison on Saturday, giving us the luxury of seeing the team-sheets before the deadline. I forgot. If only it was as easy to forget Sunday lunchtime.

    Third Striker -

Looking for third striker but haven't watched much EPL as out of UK. Currently have Fletcher from Wolves and looking to get rid.
Stats suggest Danny Graham from Swansea could be good bargain. However, I've never seen him play. Fixture is reasonably favorable as Vs Bolton (Home). Is this even a consideration? Or should I go with Best or Sturridge? Is Sturridge even likely to feature once Torres comes back? Appreciate pointers

Torres is unlikely to change whether Sturridge plays. Chelsea have mostly played with 3 "forwards" - Drogba and Torres take turns at the centre forward (depending on who is injured or banned or useless!) The left seems to be Mata's, with Malouda sometimes (he also plays in midfield occasionally) or perhaps Kalou. Kalou can also sometimes play on the right, but that is rare, and so can Anelka, but Sturridge is definately number 1. Anelka is more likely to replace one of the centre forwards based on recent games.

Even if Sturridge is rested sometimes - it won't be that often - and it's not like when you have Rooney on the bench, where you've spent 12.4 million on your striker, and he comes on for 1 point! So, I'd recommend Sturridge, or at least take Torres out of the equation. Purely as he is the best value.

Graham is decent, but not as good, and doesn't play for such a good team. He'd get a higher proportion of his team's goals then Sturridge, but Chelsea can sometimes score heaps!

I don't know about Best - he is playing well and seems to be first choice ish.

By number 1 I mean first choice for the right forward spot

By take Torres out I mean don't worry about him affecting Sturridge's game time

Worth a 4 point hit for these 3 transfers?

Bosingwa, Nani & Suarez -> Wilkinson, VDV & Aguero

Have a feeling the latter will outscore the former by a lot more than 4 this week....would also get Nani and/or Rooney in for Silva/Aguero in GW13.

    Squad is:

    Given, Ruddy
    Bosingwa, Dunne, Brown, Woodgate, Simpson
    Silva, Nani, Ramsey, Sinclair, Moses
    RVP, Suarez, Adebayor
    Bank 0.1m

I agree - all three of the in's are in better form (well, debatable with Suarez/Aguero) and have better fixtures this week and in the mid-term. Go for it.

I am very tempted. Generally against point hits, but it would be my first of the season. Other concerns are a lack of Utd coverage and Suarez going nuts. Have a sneaky feeling Suarez will be rested at the w/e.

Too true. Do you know if VDV/Aguero are likely to rise tonight? Also, is it worth getting someone other than Wilkinson at the back given I already have Woodgate (would have 4.4m to spend disregarding any price rises)... cheers

DVD looks a definite, but Aguero's only on 36% so no.

Re: Stoke defenders... depends if you can tolerate Woodgate's unreliability. I'd keep Wilkinson at this point and swap Woody for someone like Neil Taylor (Swansea).

I'm thinking of tripling up on Tottenham players.
    Vorm (given)
Kompany - Enrique - Bosingwa (simpson, brown)
Nani - Silva - VDV - Ramsey (moses)
    Suarez - Gabby - Adebeyor

I want to go Bosingwa -> Walker. What do you think? Too risky to triple up?

"Moses at home I would seriously consider playing him" - seems to be something that'd been said a few times already this season and what has it got those people?

I guess I'm just stumped by this ongoing faith people have in a player who's managed to return no goals, not assists, and no bonus through 9 games, despite having strong fixtures for much of that time.

At the next deadline these transfers will deduct 4 points from your total score in classic leagues and your match score in head-to-head matches.

These transfers will be active for Gameweek 10 as long as they are confirmed by 29 Oct 11:30.

    Play your wildcard

As these transfers will cost you 4 point(s), you might like to consider using your Wildcard.

A Wildcard allows you to make unlimited free transfers throughout a Gameweek. You can use up to 2 a season.

One Wildcard can be played at any time, the January Wildcard can only be used between Gameweeks 20 and 23 (2 Jan 11:30 to 4 Feb 11:30).

When playing a Wildcard, any saved free transfers will be lost. You will be back to the usual 1 free transfer the following Gameweek.

To play your wildcard, use the button below and then select the 'Confirm transfers' button to save your changes.

FPL is always tempting me with every transfer

So, the first hit of my season just happened. Definitely a few gambles in there. Good or bad moves people?

Bosingwa, Nani & Suarez -> Wilkinson, VDV & Aguero (4 point hit). Leaves me with this team:

    Ruddy
    Brown, Woodgate, Wilkinson
    VDV, Silva, Sinclair, Ramsey
    RVP, Aguero, Adebayor

    Subs: Given, Moses, Dunne, Simpson
Bank 0.4m (probably Sinclair -> Walters next week)

      Hi J'wick!

First thought: why remove Nani and Suarez? I see that you want VDV.

Ramsay apart, you have a very strong line up potentially going into this gwk. It strikes me as the sort of team the scout picks will look like later on.

You have doubled up on same-team in defence but they have the fixtures on their side at least so it might work for you.

The only concern would be if City rest Aguero and Silva or they get limited gametime. You have sacrificed Suarez so it is something of a gamble on Aguero. However, it could work spectacularly well for you and put you well inside the top 100k. Good luck 😉

        Morning Jafa,

My first week of being a bit wreckless on the transfer front. Feel a bit uncomfortable with no Chelsea, Man U or Liverpool coverage, but like you say, I think I have quite a few potential big hitters for this and the next few gameweeks. Even if Spurs and Mcy don't fire this week (would be a surprise) they have fixtures and form, so although Suarez is a gamble given his 2 fixtures coming up (wba and SWA), I'd back Aguero to outscore him over his (WOL and qpr), and I was gonna shift him in GW12. I'm more concerned about Nani. I think VDV will outscore him, but he's the kind of player than can score big. I'm considering a Silva/Aguero -> Nani & Rooney in GW13 once Mcy fixtures stiffen up.

You still think benching Moses > Ramsey is the right move?

Moses v Ramsay. It depends how you see the outcome of this game going. WIG look brittle and I can see FUL winning this despite a poor away team.

Ramsay - ARS will score at CHS. But it is more than likely going to be RVP if anyone.

I've put a couple of away players in over home players recently and it has backfired on me. My gut instinct would be to start Moses.

If it's any comfort, I've done 3 trades this week as well albeit 2 were free.

VDV, Milkman and Brown in for Titus, Mata and Moses.

Since I've just transferred him out I fully expect at least an assist from him this weekend. But I think in the long run there's more value in the likes of VDV and Silva.

I think Mata could be a bit like Silva in a sense, takes a while to hit his stride, but by the end of the season he'll be deadly.

Congrats, that is probably the worst defensive combination I've seen 😉

Now isn't the time to be doubled up on Newcastle defenders, so one of them needs to go. Wolves can't keep a CS, so Ward needs to go also. Can see the logic of two Spurs defenders in the short term, but after that one of them... guess what... needs to go.

Any of the City, Stoke or (to a lesser degree) Swansea defenders are good inclusions.

I would chose just 1 of ekotto and walker, no need to have 2 tottenham defenders. Also two newcastle defenders will be no good as they have tough fixtures from now on. Ward plays for wolves so he is a no for me too. Overall good but defense needs a bit of work 5/10

Both transfers I wanted to do this week (Barton out for cheap mid and Aguero in) but was waiting for last minute news... felt safe as FISO was telling me they were miles off a rise/fall. Thats pretty bad, will be looking forward to getting rid of Suarez. Then again the flip side is if Rooney and Aguero do well those who don't have them will be left in the dust

I hope so; Rooney , Aguero , VDV and Silva do well and they all go up next GW

That makes me a bit nervous, having all three of my forwards as "differentials"

Hopefully Rooney, Suarez and Aguero have a few off weeks 😉

By their standards, they've had the last few weeks off, I don't want Suarez, and can't now afford the others. 🙁

Well yeah, differentials swing both ways so you could rise big or fall big. Course, it is possible that in this round of fixtures Rooney, Suarez, Aguero, ... and RVP, Sturridge, Adebayor, Balotelli all score similar points. When you factor in opposition and rotation risk for each player. I don't expect a huge score from any of them to be honest. Ready to eat words.

Damn Fiso, usually so reliable, Aguero has gone up .1 yet Fiso only has him at 38%?!
There's some dosh lost, i'm going to go Suarez to Aguero purely out of anger now!

Looking at Aguero's playing time he hasn't missed a single PL game, other than the one where he was injured....

Also on the Silva and Aguero rest debate, i'd imagine both will get atleast 60mins or so, i can't see Mancini resting them and having no gametime time for a week and a half and then being thrown straight in against Villareal....

On another note with Aguero's gametime, he's played around 70mins in every PL game, the exception being his very first game for City, and then the inury vs BLACKBURN after 26 mins.
VDV regularly only gets 60 minutes or so....?!
