Following the weekend result at the theatre of nightmares, I finally find the enthusiasm to pick myself off the floor, dust down and into the studio. As I would expect, Mark isn’t too keen to let things pass unmentioned.

I quickly switch the discussion to my 70-point weekend. I’m a happy man with a Van, with smatterings of Suarez frustration and Dzeko regret thrown in.

Two things I regret from this episode. I kind of hope nobody hears me mention coveting Nicklas Bendtner. It’s like I’ve just come out. Anyway, I’ve joined the support group.

Secondly, I tempted fate spectacularly by mentioning that Luis Suarez had failed to score more than once in a match for Liverpool. Hours later, he kicked me in the unmentionables for the second time in a week. The swine.

Oh and another thing, I went into to the recording with one mission – to mention the early kick-off at Goodison on Saturday, giving us the luxury of seeing the team-sheets before the deadline. I forgot. If only it was as easy to forget Sunday lunchtime.

Sort this mess out guys, where to start?

      Schwarzer Mignolet

      Bos Enrique TaylorS BrownW Warnock

      Silva VDV Petrov Moses DyerN

      RVP Suarez Best

Need to get Best/Dyer/Bos out, and I want Nani in next week

I think the only "need" of those three is Best

Dyer has a very good game this weekend, and Bosingwa is a defender, so you CAN wait, if you like.

Having said that -- just took a 4 pts hit to do Bosingwa ➡ Shawcross

He doesn't even have to do Best out as Shola is hurt again, out 4-6 weeks with a hammy, and watch as soon as he makes the trade, Leon will wake up.

How many transfers do you have?

If you have 2 frees i'd take out Bos for Shawcross and probably Best for Balotelli. You need to take out at least 1 defenders as it's a bit of a mess for this and next week. If one 1 free i'd just do Bos for Shawcross, bench Best and play 3-5-2. I am completely anti-points hits as it ruined the first half of last season for me

I am not of the belief that Aguero is essential this week. If a goal bonanza occurs, he won't be in there long to take part. Soon as the game is in hand he's out. I would look at Sturridge to Torres, and maybe use the change to sort out Arteta next week if he stinks it up against Chelsea.

Is it me or did your post get hijacked?

70 min vs wigan at home was enough for his hattrick......on their day world class players dont need enough time to score 3-4 golas......

Fair, but we're talking Mick here, 4-4-2, or 4-5-1 with 8 or 9 behind the ball all day after their Carling showing...he can say how happy he was all day but I just see them squeezing the midfield and Kun having to come back to even get the ball. Of course I could be wrong but I'll give him 1 goal at the most. There will be goals...about 4, but I see a Richards, Milner, Yaya or even Skull Lescott dinking one in. Roberto Martinez is a hard-headed sort of gaffer that has too much belief in his players, they would stick to their attack-minded theory, ass-whoopin or not.

Afraid we just don't know who he'll pick. This is what I've come up with, but it's probably not much help:
      1. Dzeko: Unlikely to play as he played 90 mins on Wednesday. BUT he played well, so Mancini may pick him again today and just not take him to villareal.
      2. Aguero: Was absent on Wednesday, not likely to go 1.5 weeks without playing before villareal so might start today or make a cameo. BUT Mancini might want to rest him so he may not play at all.
      3. Balotelli: Was a sub on Wednesday but didn't come on. Finished his 3 match CL ban, so may be brought back in against villareal.

I think what makes most sense is that Aguero or Balotelli will start with the other coming on after 60 mins.

Only have 1 freebie.. Fair point Gaz about waiting, but I'm not sure if Taylor's playing, and scared Silva will come on with 20mins left so I'm really looking for 2 players that can bump the points up..

I've been considering Balotelli as a short term option, but REALLY want Torres next week away at Bburn and then WOL, so if I did Bos>Shawx and Best>Balo, I'd be 0.3m short if I then knee jerked Balo>Torres..

Ideally, I'd have RVP Torres and budget striker like Gabby or Hoillet once BBurns fixtures ease, and VDV Silva and Nani in MF.. Too much to ask?!

I COULD, but then I'd be missing out on the ridiculous amount of points that Torres will inevitably get, plus he'd be an excellent differential in my cash mini league PLUS I reckon he'll get more game time..

I don't doubt Sturridge as a brilliant purchase though, I just feel Torres will rake in the points.. I took a hit to bring him in at home to Swansea the game he scored and straight after got sent off, so I'm sticking with him!

Been following a lot of your posts Jack, I agree for the most part, you have the same ideas as me.. BUT I see Torres getting huge points from next week on and although the 3.5m is massive I think that over the season he'll justify it..

Believe me, I am extremely tempted by Torres as he is brilliant when on form (and I didnt have him for his 1-2 pointers against the easier teams in the first few GW's) but I just cant justify selling Sturridge for him YET as Sturidge is bang on form and much cheaper.
Thinking Adebayor this week, averages over 9 at home and will be looking for a goal after the last few, VDV and Silva are tempting me but I dunno!

Can't really argue there, food for thought..

Just seen there, his 2 home games have been vs Liv and Ars, impressive numbers, but I'm edging towards Balo this week..

I think people would be crazy to captain Silva, as good as he is, because there's a very good chance he'l play 30mins or less... Go with Ade!

I dont think I will get Torres unless he is on crazy form or Sturridge becomes a rotation risk, will even consider going with both of them if they keep scoring!...but thats unlikely.
          Nani suffered for the Kuytsperiment.
Definately dont wanna transfer Mata out for a few weeks with Torres back now, they link up very well and when I get Nani in for Kuyt GW12 there wont really be a high-price mid they I will want to swap him for (will have Mata/Nani/VDV and Silva)
Although Mata would be the mid I would consider sacrificing for Sturridge > Torres..

If Chelsea put up 4 or 5 this weekend, and Man U lay another low scoring affair, Nani might have to go. I never pulled the trigger on Sturridge, had him too early in the season and watching him since I don't like how they go extended periods without switching the ball to him or even initiating play on his side. Plus, when Torres is in it's always the left side and the middle, haven't seen Sturridge and Torres in enough play together to make a sensible decision. At 7.2% (62k) ownership and a few people will have to dump him if they want some of the Torres...with my luck he'll give me the hot urine treatment.

It is food for thought. I bought VDV in this week for a hit. I'm maybe trying to justify the decision by captaining him. The only thing that puts me of ade is he had a quiet game last week. Although a good home game is maybe the time to gamble on him.

Well long term Aguero will likely score more and be more reliable starts wise (from what we've seen at least).

Balo might have become more established in the Prem but we dont know. In your shoes id probably do nothing though and plan to bring him in later. Im not sure Aguero is worth an 8 point hit though, even with the captaincy he's going to have to do something just to break even.

I wish I could do nothing but I have to get rid of Drogba 🙁 I have Gabbidon and Boyata on my bench who are both injured, and Ferguson. So I can't bench Drogba. I also have Nasri, and if he doesn't play I'm 2 men down.

8 point hit is very risky especially considering he is a slight rotation risk, if he doesnt start and comes on for a 1 pointer then technically your -7 from the transfer..
      I'd go with Balotelli.

Think im prettysorted for this GW, dont need to do any transfers i dont think!

    Vorm (Krul)

    Shawcross - Kompany - Enrique - Bosingwa - Tierney

Moses - Van Der Vaart - Nani (Tiote,Ramsey)

    Suarez - Van Persie (Ba)

    What you lot reckon?

Obviously, otherwise you'd play Ramsey instead of Tierney as I doubt you're in the habit of playing guys you think will score poorly over guys you think will score well!

After watching Norwich v Pool last week I wouldn't even consider a Norwich defender. They were amateur at the back and could have shipped 5. As a neutral Liverpool were terribly unlucky. Blackburn haven't been picking up points but have scored in most games recently.

On the Scoutcast they discussed people getting rid of United players with the theory being that they hadn't looked at the upcoming fixtures. Then they discussed people getting rid of Bosingwa, probably meaning that the had looked at fixtures and therefore disproving the previous theory. They are both true though aren't they? It's not as if it's 2.5m people are making the same moves with the same mind.

United return to Merseyside tomorrow to face Everton, but must cope without winger Ashley Young, who is set to miss the game due to a toe injury.

United are awaiting the results of a scan on Young’s injury, but he is considered unlikely to feature at Goodison Park. He is also a doubt for England’s friendlies against Spain and Holland next month.

Carrick will have to start most games. He's the only player who can sit and provide cover in front of the back 4.

Oh boy I hope Cleverley starts this weekend. We adapted to play with him and haven't been able to play without him since his injury!

Then watch Anderson flip-flop between the two; we still haven't seen the end of Cleverley/Anderson pairing. We might even see Park do his Alex Song impression (matrix) as well.

I'd see anyone else on the pitch over Ferdinand and Carrick at the moment, they both REALLY need to get their acts together! (off the pitch haha)

I think Fabio is in there as well. Quicker and more athletic can win and maintain possession before players get into their danger zones. Even if you have to live with the occasional boneheaded move/challenge.
