Following the weekend result at the theatre of nightmares, I finally find the enthusiasm to pick myself off the floor, dust down and into the studio. As I would expect, Mark isn’t too keen to let things pass unmentioned.

I quickly switch the discussion to my 70-point weekend. I’m a happy man with a Van, with smatterings of Suarez frustration and Dzeko regret thrown in.

Two things I regret from this episode. I kind of hope nobody hears me mention coveting Nicklas Bendtner. It’s like I’ve just come out. Anyway, I’ve joined the support group.

Secondly, I tempted fate spectacularly by mentioning that Luis Suarez had failed to score more than once in a match for Liverpool. Hours later, he kicked me in the unmentionables for the second time in a week. The swine.

Oh and another thing, I went into to the recording with one mission – to mention the early kick-off at Goodison on Saturday, giving us the luxury of seeing the team-sheets before the deadline. I forgot. If only it was as easy to forget Sunday lunchtime.

Well for the defense is important to know themselves, to play constantly together. With all those changes, the chance for some misunderstanding in the back line, which will lead to chance/ goal is increasing. Look Utd side with all those changes. So I believe its gonna be 3:1 or 3:2 for Chelsea. Also without full back, Mata will have the chance to set more chances for Nando and Sturridge

In saying this, I had a bet with my workmates to pick the score for this game, I went with Chelsea 3 - 1 so I agree to a certain extent!

There is validity there, as far as when to set off-side traps and when not to. With Torres and Mata back together that is a definite (should be) concern. I guarantee one naked opportunity where they're (Johan I'm looking at you) caught late on a trap. BTW, I've noticed that Djourou is not available for transfer on Arsenal...weird no?

Also with Torres in the number of on the ground through-balls will increase right down Mertesacker's channel. He's solid positional, but slower than my grandmother.

I disagree. Verm being back is defo good for Arsenal. Great defender, leader and more importantly a good organiser. Should be a good compliment for Merts

Yeah I agree that Verm back is good news for Arsenal, but in midterm, not for this fixture only. I was speaking only for the Che game. After when he'll get back to his best, improve his fitness and get to know with Merts definitely we'll see improvement in the Ars defense.

But I think this is gonna be the first time. Merts and Verm playing together, which I see as a good news for Che. We must not forget that he could play as a full back, where I see advantage for Sturridge.

Hopefully I am clear now 😉

I wasn't too sure whether I agreed with your first statement (good for Torres) but your argument makes alot of sense really.

I think what will play to Torres' strengths more so is the lumbering pace of one Mr. Mertesacker.

Loads of Spanish connection throughballls in the channel, one guy speaks German, great positional but slow as the day is long. Another is quicker and more ambitious. I've never really liked slow vs. quick CB pairings...as an Arsenal fan I hope they prove me wrong, but as a FF team owner I can't say I won't be rooting for Nando to reek havoc. I just think Verm is at times too ambitious and assertive for his partner's wheels.

I'm mulling over Augerro in for Suarez? I can't see Suarez doing much damage against an inform WBA, it next week that worries me.

Its tricky, Suarez rarely scores more than one as is pointed out earlier but he is consistent.

It might just be knee jerk after i made as last minute captain change to him last week. I just feel like i could get massively bitten, Westbrom are unbeaten in four and tend to play well against the bigger sides.

And with city at home to wolves with aguero rested mid-week, he will surely start and is bound to score. it is difficult to drop VP after his form this YEAR, he is scoring for fun. I wish i could keep VP,Aguero and Sturridge and drop Suarez but cant afford to do that. Guess ill go with Aguero then and see what happens!

I remember the Newcastle and Saints defeats in 1996, crazy couple of weeks those were.

My honest opinion is that we'll go back to what it was like with Mourinho at Chelsea and Arsenal early 00s, but this time it's Mancini at City... titanic battles for the title, for as long as he stays there. I personally don't see Chelsea in the race at the end, but they'll get a safe 3rd.

I'm not entirely sure how it "doesn't look good for United", considering we've got the same squad as last season... we didn't do too badly then, you know. We'll be there or there abouts until SAF retires.

Are people playing bos this gw? Especially with ban and all that . . . . Jusy kidding! But against ARS would he be better as sub? Other options are simp and barnett, both looking like they will be in nil all draws.

Now that this year's rule changes have had a chance to bed down what do we think?

I can't imagine anyone being unhappy with the vice-captain system. Personally I'm a fan of the new assist system, although it does occasionally produce rather bizarre results it is at least unambiguous and (one early season non-allocation aside) consistent.

The BP system still needs tweaking in my view, I can't imagine them going back to last year's subjective allocation but I'd like to see all PPI points accrued from stats that FPL already award points for deducted from the PPI scores for the purpose of allocating bonus points.

I agreee with all of these point. My only gripe (albeit a small one) is that the PPI can be negative. I think if they removed negatives and only rewarded the postives it might work a bit better.

I also like the new ffs & fpl site and first I was wary but both have added features which are great. now in fpl we cant work out other players transfers this really got on my tits last year. and when doing a potential wc if you take out a player then decide you want him back in when messing about the new site doesnt say "plyer already selected".

      onwards and upwards

Yeah I think it is. The only thing it does encourage though is CBs and DMs getting extra points, in previous years the BPs just went to attacking players and you'd rarely see I CB with 3 BPs.

I agree, I'm trying to be as optimistic I can be but it's getting harder each day.

Whyte has has some dodgy dealings in the past, but the programme wasn't a fair peice of journalism. It didnt show any company Whyte was successfull with and also he must be a good business man if he moved to Monaco in his 20s. It is worrying however when John Greig walks away, and listening to Alistair Johnstone he was saying the right things... It is a worry.

fair enough, i shouldn't judge him on one tv show. I think the Record are giving the worst possible scenario. would you not take a 10 point hit and a fine, if it meant you were still running and all your tax problems sorted for the following season. I would hate to see the gers goin bust (not goin to happen). Celtic need rangers even though most hoops fans would deny it.

I think thats the best scenario, I know its just the record but there must be some truth in it.. I also read that Rangers can choose when they went into administration, so if we were 15 points clear with 1 game to go we could go into administration and get the 10 point deduction and still win the league. I dont know how much truth is in that though.

I agree it would be as much for a blow for Celtic as it would be for Rangers. If Rangers went bust the TV money would dry up and Celtic wouldnt be able to compete.
