Ba as long as you use the 2m diff to have VP Silva and VDV in your team. The unstoppable trio are expensive so high scoring budgets are needed such as Ba.

I bank on Silva, VDV & RVP. Still have Rooney & Sturridge and I believe both will score well again immanently. I feel Ba though he has done well is the sort of player you bring in if you already have CHE, ARS, MANC & MANU attacking cover.

I have VDV and Silva, I have no United or Chelsea coverage. I have Aguero and Adebayor. I have 2 free transfers. I'm thinking Ag & Ade > Rooney and Sturridge. Make sense with Uniteds fixtures?

My belated thoughts on Spurs QPR last night (couldn't post yesterday as too peed off watching the Pats pass 'defense' getting torched by Roethlisberger).

I thoroughly enjoyed the game despite the result (having VdV as my captain helped).

Spurs were a joy to watch, definitely the best team we've played thus far and they were better than Chelsea. No shame in losing to a team this good at all.

Taarabt was shocking yesterday and I actually hope Warnock drops him and Derry for the Man City game. We played better when he got subbed, probably cos the rest of the team were relieved that we now had guys up front prepared to run, chase and close down Spurs defenders.

Our second half performance gave me a lot of encouragement. If we can play like that every week we will be fine.

Bale's 2nd goal was a thing of beauty.

Hopefully the goal will give Bothroyd confidence and he can push on from here now.

So, all in all, I was thoroughly entertained and very impressed with Spurs.

Now then, what the hell do the Pats do about this awful inability to rush the passer?

Its a historically bad pass D, Aguero.

One and done in the playoffs at best. Wasting the final years of Brady's career by hamstringing him with a cover your eyes awful Pass D.

I can't help but like Taarabt. I don't know why. We are of not the same race, nor club, nor personality. But, despite his being a petulant little fecker, I like him.

I think the problem for him is that he's a one-man team and QPR and shocking offensively; Wright-Phillips... Helguson... Bothroyd...

As a Liverpool fan, I'd like to see us go in for him in the next window. He could, in my opinion, replace Gerrard who should be sold while we can still get something for him.

Will Rodwell ever score many points with Everton? Want to bring in Drenthe for Brunt but fixtures wise and in terms of influence they seem quite comparable - doing Moses or Dyer to Rodwell is a back up plan for me.

This is how I'm currently lined up for this GW:

    Vorm (Kenny)

    Woodgate, Enrique, Simpson (N.Taylor, Kompany)

    VDV, Silva, Petrov, O'Hara (Dyer)

    RVP, Rooney, Ade

Save the sub and make 2 after the internationals?

    or do

    a) Kompany > Warnock & Petrov > Ramsey/Walters
    b) Kompany > Jones & Petrov > Drenthe

or sort my goalies out? any help much appreciated.

Man Utd's next 10 fixtures..... they should win all 10 pretty comfortably, they'll have a lot of points on the board after that period.

I'm a Liverpool fan but we've pissed away a lot of money on average players this season. Tottenham are a better footballing side.

Villas-Boas is utterly clueless and will be gone soon enough.

        Arshavin.

AA was a perfectly capable attacker until Wenger started messing him about with the rotation crap. Arsenal are not a one-man team.

Whilst van Persie is a fantastic player (if a bit tall/clumsy), Arsenal are missing other players to a greater extent. Wilshere, for one.

However, there's little doubt in my mind that they will still make top 4 - easily...

AA still is a capable attacker (IMHO), but he's not a center forward. Chamakh has no cutting edge. No confidence to turn a defender and take someone on. Its all hold-up play with him.

Hopefully this is all hypothetical and RVP plays 27 more league games, scoring a brace in each.

I'm thinking of doing the same transfer, and I'm about to go ahead right now. Walters hasn't started in any of Stoke's Europa League matches so far, and came on in each match with about 10-20 minutes left. So I believe that there is a very small chance of Walters getting injured, or even risked at all, with Stoke currently sitting pretty at the top of their group.

    Reasonable plan?

    GW11: No transfer
    GW12: Given -> Howard
    GW13: Dunne & Aguero -> N Taylor & Rooney

    Given
    Dunne, Simpson, Wilkinson
    Silva, VDV, Ramsey, Sinclair
    RVP, Aguero, Adebayor

    Ruddy, Moses, Woodgate, Brown

I think so. Am also looking for an alternative to Krul and was actually thinking Friedel as I have Vorm and they rotate well. Have RVP and Aguero and in a few weeks will decide on whether to bring in Rooney for one of them

      remember blackpool last year?
by GW 15 they are no where near relagation, but then things turn badly by the second half of the season. As for wigan and wolves they have been battling in the relagation zone for many years, they are experienced in this....

    Begovic
    shawX - kompany - Enrique - Naylor
    Silva - Gerrard - Ramsey
    Rooney - Suarez - Sturr (c)
    sub: krul, Fox, Cabaye, gabbidon

it really is the way the end this game week
losing my top spot on my mini league to my arch rival, Gerrard missing out on the pen and injured, red card on kompany. shawX and begovic were going to be my savior - he ended up injury for i don't know how long. hopefully he will be ok before the double home game on gw 12,13. I (c) sturridge but his goal was overruled. It was 5-3 man, he just missed out on the action.......

There is a lot of action for this gameweek but somehow my players just weren't involved in it. At the end i recieved a stunning 30 pt for this gameweek
i guess its time to move on to GW 11

Happy Halloween everybody! Let's hope it's not a petrifying gameweek!
Because VDV and RVP rises again tonight I've been forced into my transfers early this week. I can't really take any more hits this GW so transfer advice is appreciated for next GW, but do rate my team/fix my starting lineup/get led astray by me into disaster:

    Vorm
    Bosingwa Enrique R Taylor
Van der Vaart Silva Nani Ramsey
    RVP Sturridge Balotelli

    Subs: Schwarzer, Dyer, N Taylor.

It backfired this week thanks to the Mancini random team generator, but fingers crossed on my big gamble paying off this week. I think Balo has his best ever chance of starting due to Aguero and Dzeko's CL adventures. Hoping this gives me a clear run for qpr, NEW, NOR. I'm just embracing gambling now as the alternative is staying 100 PTs behind league leaders. If Sturridge/Balo doesn't work out I'll go Chicarito, a huge differential IMO.

    Hi folks,

Late night dilemma. Should I do Rooney out, RVP in tonight while I can still afford it?

If I don't do it tonight I won't be able to afford to do so without taking a 4 point hit or waiting until next gameweek. I currently have no Arsenal coverage but this transfer will then mean I have no Man U attacking players. Worried about RVP getting injured midweek or Rooney doing the business against Sunderland (and in forthcoming good fixtures) but feel I just can't ignore RVP's form and Rooney's lack of it any longer!

Any thoughts greatly appreciated, really struggling to decide what to do for the best.

As I'm painfully learning, FPLis essentially about joining and leaving bandwagons early. Take the points and run. Rooney was shit hot in the first 6 GWs, then he faded. Same for Aguero. Now it's RVPs turn. You gotta see the warning signs early, I start to think 2 GWs against beatable opposition is enough. When CL calms down over the winter we'll see premium strikers back. And gone again as knockout fixtures resume... tactically it could get interesting when big guns are knocked out of CL
