                  All against poor opposition. Has flopped at every single tournament. He's even been terrible for Man U for 3 or 4 years and people still want him in the team, now that's laughable.

                    Pretty much every single England player has failed at major tournaments since 2000's. Stupid to just single out Rooney. Top goalscorer in qualifying has to play

                      Not at all. Rooney is consistently our worst player. For example, Sterling was our best player 2 years ago, while Rooney made Darmian look like the next Bale. There's an obvious blind spot to Rooney for some reason, as shown by him being owned by something like 50% of people on FPL and being template on here at the start of the season, despite it being quite obvious how poor he is now.

                      Getting goals against San Marino is absolutely no reason to start a player who's best England moments came a decade ago.

                  yes but most of them goals from friendlies, the goalscoring record at international level is skewed with friendlies counting, unless of course you are Robbie Keane aka God!

        Smalling been better this season then Stones, he can't currently get in Everton's side.

        I can't see England playing 3 at the back.
        I'd swap Cahill for Clyne, put him at right back, then Henderson in for Milner.

        And play 4-2-3-1, with Rooney, alli and Barkley behind Kane.

      When a player has a blank, they'll always get sold in high volumes. If it's him or Ozil to be sold, Dawson loses for many, regardless of fixtures.

      Two things I was very wrong about pre-season

      I also said Kane would do dreadful this year

      I also said Stoke would be dreadful this year and possible relegation candidates. They lost Huth, sold N'Zonzi without a decent replacement, got Glen Johnson and were relying on "no experience" Butland in goal. How wrong I was.
