Double Gameweeks 34 and 37 Announced

The Premier League have announced a number of rearranged fixtures this afternoon, affording Fantasy managers plenty of time to now plan and prepare around the upcoming double Gameweeks 34 and 37.

Gameweek 34

The following fixtures were previously postponed due to domestic cup matches but have now been added:

Tuesday, April 19 – Newcastle vs Man City

Wednesday, April 20 – Liverpool vs Everton, Man United vs Crystal Palace, West Ham vs Watford,

Thursday, April 21 – Arsenal vs West Brom.

Gameweek 37

The following fixtures were previously postponed due to domestic cup matches but have now been added:

Tuesday, May 10 – West Ham vs Man United

Wednesday, May 11 – Liverpool vs Chelsea, Norwich vs Watford, Sunderland vs Everton.

Schedule Re-cap

Long story short, then, five teams – Liverpool, Watford, Everton, West Ham and Man United – have doubles in Gameweek 34 and 37.

United, West Ham, Everton, Palace, Norwich and Watford have no fixture in Gameweek 35, however, due to the FA Cup schedule.

Arsenal, West Brom, Newcastle, Man City and Crystal Palace have one double apiece, in Gameweek 34.

Chelsea, Sunderland and Norwich have one double apiece, in Gameweek 37.

This leaves Everton’s clash with Palace, which was originally pencilled in for Gameweek 35, as the only fixture yet to be rearranged. This is due to the fact that the pair go head-to-head in the FA Cup semi-finals that weekend.

We’ll go into much more detail in future articles but here’s a quick check on what today’s announcement means..

Man City’s trip to Newcastle in Gameweek 34 is preceded by a trip to Chelsea that weekend but the surrounding fixtures are due to promote big investment, with a favourable (WBA, che &new, STO) run between Gameweek 33 and 35.

Newcastle, meanwhile, also host Swansea at St James in Gameweek 34, with a home clash against Palace and trip to Villa in their subsequent three.

United are handed a very promising pair of Gameweek 34 fixtures, with back-to-back home encounters against Villa and Palace. The downside, though, is that they face a blank the following week. Their Gameweek 37 double consists of trips to Norwich and West Ham.

Liverpool look ripe for investment as we prepare for our wildcards, with their schedule from Gameweek 33 onwards (STO, bou & EVE, NEW, swa, WAT & CHE, wba) looking very promising.

In addition to their two doubles and yet-to-be-schedule clash with Palace, Everton also host Southampton, Bournemouth and Norwich in the final five Gameweeks.

Arsenal, meanwhile, play twice at the Emirates in Gameweek 34, as Palace and West Brom pay visit. The Baggies precede their trip to north London with a home match against Watford.

Palace’s double in Gameweek 34 (ars, mun) will struggle to persuade many suitors, though that game in hand against Everton could come in handy further down the line.

West Ham’s trip to Leicester in Gameweek 34 has now been softened by a home encounter with Watford in the same round of fixtures. Like United, they then blank the following week but a pair of home matches in Gameweek 37 (SWA, MUN) is bound to see significant investment, bearing in mind that these are the Hammers’ final two matches at Upton Park before moving ground in the summer.

Watford hit the road in all four of their double fixtures – Gameweek 34 (wba, whu), Gameweek 37 (liv, nor) – and also blank in Gameweek 35. Chelsea also play twice in their double Gameweek 37, making their way to Sunderland and Liverpool.

Elsewhere in Gameweek 37, relegation candidates Norwich (MUN, WAT) and Sunderland (CHE, EVE) are both handed home matches that look vital to their survival hopes.

*We’ll be updating our fixture ticker later today in light of the news and roll out Scouting the Doubles articles nearer the time.

DGW teams with a lot to play for:

    Arsenal
    City
    Newcastle
    Man utd
    Sunderland
    Norwich

DGW with less to play for

West Ham (maybe top 4 challenge)
    Liverpool

DGW teams with nothing to play for (probably)

    West brom
    Palace
    Everton
    Chelsea
    Watford

    Something to keep in mind

also Everton and Chelsea can still get Europa league

sorry to be negatvie/harsh but think this is a pretty irrelevant post.

teams don't give up even if Europe is out of the picture, high finish means more money and these players are Pro and want to win every game

I disagree a bit, mid table teams definitely don't have as much drive towards the end of the season. They don't give up completely, but I'd rather want relegation battlers or Title/ top 4 candidates than a team like Watford who are completely safe

Just some reasons to NOT wildcard in GW33

    - You need 3 Pool. Outside Firmino, the rest all have flaws and one of the fixtures is the Mersyside Derby
    - You need to limit Everton players on your team. Getting 3 jams you up not only for 35, but getting them back for 37
    - The Payet/Antonio double up is hard, given the 35 blank and assume most would keep Payet that week.
You lose LEI and TOT players. They have SWA and WBA respectively in 35

As someone mentioned earlier, it's all about ML's I' afraid and what your strategy is to win them. That will dictate many a DGW strategy.

I for one would not want to see my ML leader increase his 30pt lead to 80 with only 4 weeks to go.

Good food for thought. Not too sure that the 3 Liverpool is much of a reason, though - you'll need 3 of them in GW37 too probably, and their fixtures are no better then either.

I never asked for more important help on here then now. This post may or may not save my season, so please need help. My rival is 17Pts ahead with Triple captain - Bench Boost and Wildcard at hand.

I only have Bench Boost and Wild card. We all know that 34 is a double and 37 is a double.

    Should I do the following.

    A) Play my Wildcard GW 34 have 11 DGW players and use my BB Chip GW 37

    B) Use BB chip and Wildcard GW 37 just have 7 DWG players for 34

    C) Wildcard GW 33 and use my BB Chip GW34 then just take his Triple captain Chip GW 37 hope it doesn't end my season.

    I really appreciate all feedback.

    My Current team.

    Butland - Hens

    Ivan Simpson Williams Kos Kompany

    Sanchez Silva Siggy Lingard Alli

    Aguero Vardy Kane

It's the differential way to go and will probably either pay off massively or flop massively - go hard or go home I say 🙂

I´m thinking this DGW Team with WC and poor money:

    DDG - Elliot
    Bellerín - Ward - Dawson - Aké - Moreno
    Mahrez - Firmino - Ozil - Payet - Antonio
    Kun - Rondon - Lukaku

GW35 = Antonio and Lukaku OUT for someone and bench DDG, Ward, Aké and Payet.

    BB too.

Yeah but Ighalo has blank at GW35 but this is not definitive.

with that team it's do-able, not a lot of blanks in 35

maybe Deeney over Iggy though, 1m difference plus pens

Good point. Iggy also prone to being rotated on a tight schedule.

Thats what I think, this is a very possible choice for my WC Team for DGW34 and Deeney could be an option and I play 10 at GW35 or take a -4 hit since I already have Deeney.

Out of interest, what TV/SV is everyone playing with here? I'm on 110.1/105.7, which seems high to me considering I never ever make any moves for value purposes.

£112.0M / £106.8M here... although I got bitten in my ML last year by a differential brought about by my rival having a much better TV, so I've been very vigilant this year!

This WC in 33 seems difficult.. Happy to have the WC but getting 15 players who will play while wanting to keep the expensive ones I already own (Aguero, Ozil, Sanchez, Kompany) is going to be very difficult 🙁

It's not impossible, but i feel it's more advantageous to play WC later if you can get 11 DGW players in 34 with FT's or 1 hit. Chelsea (EL spot) and West Ham (CL spot) will still be fighting and you can get defense from Sunderland and maybe Norwich, as they are fighting relegation and will surely try to tighen up.

I'm liking the look of a Wijnaldum punt for DGW34, maybe even Janmaat or Elliot for a Newcastle double up.

    Something like that...

    De Gea Mignolet
    Smalling Ward Dawson Kompany Bellerin
    Payet Milner Firmino Ozil Mahrez
    Aguero Ighalo Lukaku

Yes I'm keeping Mahrez. He has Sunderland gw33 then two home games and I know and would want him back anyway gw35. I have him since pre season, it is personal!

    Save FT gw34.
GW35: Out Ighalo and Ward for players with a game Vardy maybe?
Bench Lukaku, Payet Smalling De Gea ( keep them for DGW37

    🙂
