Alexis Sanchez grabs both goals as Arsenal sweep aside West Brom in the final fixture of Gameweek 34. Aaron Ramsey supplies both assists upon his return to the starting XI, whilst Gabriel drops to the bench as the Gunners earn a fifteenth shut-out of the season.

Sanchez at the double

Arsenal leapfrogged Manchester City into third spot by virtue of a 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.

Alexis Sanchez grabbed his second and third goals of the Gameweek, meaning he’s now produced attacking returns (six goals, three assists) in each of his previous seven starts. The Chilean subsequently ended Gameweek 34 on 25 points, just one less than Sergio Aguero, in what proved a titanic armband tussle between the duo. Considering that Mesut Ozil served up his sixth blank in seven outings, Sanchez has established himself as the clear favoured route into Arsenal’s attack ahead of showdowns with three of the current bottom four.

Drafted in for Francis Coquelin, Aaron Ramsey supplied the assists for both goals. Although the Welshman’s price tag (7.8) could furnish us with an alternate source of Gunners coverage, his lack of security of starts keeps him on the periphery of our thinking.

At the expense of Gabriel, Per Mertesacker made his first start in five fixtures and earned a single bonus point, whilst Olivier Giroud usurped Danny Welbeck as the Gunners’ lone striker. In both cases, one would imagine that the displaced player will regain their starting berths at Sunderland next time out, yet the uncertainty will likely prompt owners to explore their options given that Gameweek 35 is already without three fixtures.

Arsenal enjoyed their third clean sheet in five match-ups, positioning them joint-second for shut-outs (15) this term. With home matches against Norwich City and Aston Villa also still to follow, the North Londoners still boast strong clean-sheet potential in their final quartet of fixtures.

Baggies season stutters to a standstill

West Brom slumped to their fourth defeat in five outings as they managed a solitary shot on target at the Emirates.

Bearing in mind that Tony Pulis’ side have scored just once in the last five matches, investors in Spurs’ defence will be buoyed ahead of their duel at White Hart Lane on Monday. Indeed, having managed just a single clean sheet over that period, and with showdowns against West Ham United and Liverpool also to follow, those still holding the Baggies’ assets will surely be looking for a way out now.

Could Liverpool push for the 4th spot and CL net season? They are 7 points behind City but have an extra game so it could be only 4 points.

After Stoke this GW City have Southhampton away and Arsenal at home, they could lose points in both games.

Do you think Klopp will consider this and play strong team or will again rotate haviliy?

Think it's too much, especially if they want to do well in EL. United have decent games and also WH are still there. Too many other variables.

He's always said the league is his priority and it's CL> he'll play the team he thinks is good enough to win, won't necessarily start Sturridge/Coutinho.

They can still get a CL spot if they win the Europa league but it's a good point you make that they also have the possibility of doing so by league position.

Can't see him having any reason not to rotate after it worked so spectacularly this week though.

guys got a huge dilemma, please help. which move should i do?

    a) Lukaku, Delaney ---> Defoe, Dier (-4)
    b) Coutinho, Delaney --> Alli, Dier (-4)
    c) Lukaku --> Defoe (0)
    d) Lukaku, Coutinho, Delaney ---> Sturridge, Alli, Walker (-8)

personally i like d the best, but obviously I am not keen on taking an 8 point hit, especially with Sturridge not guaranteed to play. At the moment, I have 10 players for GW35, so I dont know what to do.

      I'm doing:

Lukaku, Mitrovic, Couthino ----->> Kane, Ali, Defoe.

      For a -8 hit.

      Was also thinking about

      Lukaku, Mitrovic ------>> Ali, Defoe

      For -4 hit

I just think Spurs are going to destroy everyone in their path now. too risky not to have them.

I'd be wary of Sturridge. with Origi injured he's crucial to our Europa league run in so Klopp might rest him.

I could do lukaku, iwobi delaney -----> defoe, alli and dier for (-8), do you think its worth it? I currently have kane.

I think it's less risky than Sturridge. What's the rest of your team look like?

          Mine is currently:

          DDG Robles

          Simpson, Morgan, Bellerin, Gabriel, Moreno

          Couthino, Debryne, Mahrez, Sanchez, Payet

          Mitrovic Aguero Lukaku.

And like I say probs doing:

Lukaku, Mitrovic, Couthino ----->> Kane, Ali, Defoe.

Best triple captain option for GW37?

Sturridge, Carrol, Origi and Countinho all look reasonable shouts but then there's a huge risk of rotation.

Payet and Antonio look far less likely to be rotated but neither had a fantastic DGW this time out.

    Torn...

Who are you planning on entrusting your white armband to and why?

Ah yes, I should have mentioned that. I was also considering that as a maverick move.

Will take some serious nerve though to use the triple captaincy chip in a single gameweek and even more so to do it in GW38!

Origi is out... wow I'd missed that. Sturridge looking pretty nailed (if he can stay injury free) then.

Watford and Chelsea aren't the two easiest teams to face in a DGW though...

Same issue for me. At the moment it's Firmino if I am confident he plays both games, otherwise Payet.

Liverpool play EL on the 5th, then their double gameweek is the 8th and 11th so it would be a lot to expect Firmino to start both games...

Hey guys, leading my ML by 70 points and have already done Vardy & Coutinho > Kane & Alli for a -4 hit which gives me 10 possible starters.

Should I do anything else this week given the uncertainty around some of my team starting?

    Darlow
    Bellerin - Gabriel - Sakho - Simpson
    Alli - Sanchez - Milner
    Kun - Kane

    Robles - Smalling - Payet - Antonio - Martial

    a) Payet to Alli (bench Mahrez or Defoe)
    b) Mahrez to Alli (bench Defoe)

    d) Save - with Cout and Gab risks, no subs

Mitrovic, Martial, KDB to Kane, Sturridge, and RLC? 😆

      I don't like it, but I wouldn't..

Martial is the only one of those players that needs to go imo, and Sturridge could be a rotation risk now with Origi out of Europa.

Yeah I'm going to, I'm just going through the crazy look at every possible transfer routine!

Would really like Sturridge but might just wait until GW37

Can fund it with Coutinho to Alli but I think I'm getting Kane ahead of Sturridge for this week.

Aguero to Sturridge in a week or 2 I expect.

It's looking that way to get Kane back.

Really? I have him in my team but he's only being used as a sub at the moment..

Surely Defoe is a better option? Especially with his DGW

    Morning all

Best defender for the run in? Looking at Rose? Is he nailed on? Or anyone else to consider?

Is it worth to take Coutinho out for -8? If so who for?

I already have Payet, Sanchez, Mahrez, Ali (£9.1 in Bank)

I am. (only counts as a -4 on its own though)

      Townsend or Iwobi

Don't see anyone mentioning Benteke, when will he be back, will he ruin our's Firminhos and Studges? If Klopp plans to get rid of him in the summer he could play him in a game or two to build up his sell value.

playing him for two games will do nothing for his sell value.

Scoring few goals could, and with Liverpool playing the way they are even i could score a few

We know that Klopp is putting EL first now, and we know he's not afraid to HEAVILY rotate in the prem in order to win. So why should we gamble on Sturridge? It feels like we're just asking to be burnt.

Defoe is obviously a lesser option, but seems to be the more positive expected value option considering we can almost guarantee Sturridge rotation, especially considering his injury record.

Benteke returning also does not help at all, we know he's too bad to be first team, therefore minutes in the less important premier league matches to rest Sturridge seems obvious.
