After a dramatic final day for all the wrong reasons, the Fantasy Premier League season has been extended following the disturbing abandonment of the Manchester United and Bournemouth encounter.

It means that the situation at the top remains undecided, although from our calculations of the scheduled autosubs, Dimitri Nicolaou has preserved his lead by just a single point.

A member of the Fantasy Football Scout league, Dimitri went into the final day 18 points ahead of Jamie Fitzpatrick and 24 in front of Jack Manners.

While Jamie has fallen away with a disappointing tally of 26, Jack has dramatically closed the gap via his captaincy of Sadio Mane and has collected 57 points after autosubs, with Charlie Daniels yet to play.

It could have been even better: had both Ross Barkley or Aaron Lennon remained on the Everton bench, Jack would have collected an additional seven points from his third benched player, Michail Antonio.

Dimitri has mustered 34 points after autosubs having taken a 4-point hit; he elected instead to play his All-Out-Attack chip which was duly nullified by Philippe Coutinho’s no-show.

It appears that Dimitri remains a point ahead of Jack but with both Chris Smalling and Marcus Rashford left to play in the re-arranged fixture, now confirmed for Tuesday May 17.

Ed Masters, a regular poster under the guise of “Mo Mane Mo Problems” and a full Fantasy Football Scout member, has climbed to third spot at this point.

Ed also captained Mane and produced a superb final day tally of 57 points following a hit; we make it that he’s eight points behind Dimitri with David de Gea still to play.

With the United and Bournemouth fixture to follow, there are still multiple scenarios that could see the top spots shuffle once again.

Louis van Gaal will surely consider playing a weakened lineup against the Cherries given that Manchester City have now sealed fourth spot and with the weekend FA Cup Final in mind.

David de Gea could be the only assured starter as he looks to claim the clean sheet which would see him contest the Golden Glove award with Arsenal’s Petr Cech.

Dimitri, Jack and Ed are currently left waiting on the outcome of Tuesday evening to see how it will fall. Until then, the FPL title remains in limbo.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

34 + 3 (auto-subs) + Smalling to go and a small red as of now. OR 6,807 so far. Happy with the rank after a miserable start to the season. Hope to finish in Top 8K.

I would like to thank everyone here for your valuable articles, posts and suggestions.

World #2 won't get Antonio off his bench will he?

That's probably cost him the title, I think.

This abandonment has broken UFPL. Man U vs Bournemouth is staying in Matchday One and there won't be captaincy changes or substitutions 🙁

Matches on different days, but no different matchdays in UFPL. I call that broke.

As you're a stickler for the rules:

                "Manager substitutions

Manager substitutions allow you to review the performance of your players during a Gameweek and make changes to your starting eleven and captain. After all matches on a single day have finished and 15 minutes before the next matches start, you can.

                • Replace any player who has not received a red card, with one from your bench who has yet to play in the Gameweek and whose team has a fixture to play.
                • Change your captain (if he has not received a red card), with a player from your selected team who has yet to play in the Gameweek and whose team has a fixture to play."

All matches have finished for Sunday, so where's my captaincy change?

How many matchdays are there in GW38? The answer is 1.
Therefore only 1 captain. It's a freak occurrence. The fixtures were set in stone before the deadline. It's the same as a DGW in UFPL. Going by your method, the very lucky people would have Man Utd or Bou players on the bench who they didn't rate on Matchday 1.

There are now two matchdays in GW38 and the game isn't reflecting that.

Did you see MD2 players to load up on your bench before the deadline?
You can't add a matchday for the sake of it when there was only 1 day allocated. People would have played other players if there was a known MD2.
Autosubs are the fairest way to sort it if needed. Some people would have bench players and plenty wouldn't and it wouldn't be their fault. Can't see anyway your point of view is logical in this instance tbh.

Would have seemed a little unfair to managers who were unable to plan for your proposed MD2 if there was a post-deadline change.

I have no vested interest, but not allowing midweek changes in this instance seems the fairest approach.

500k rise in the last couple of months has seen me just scrape into the top 100k - slightly disappointing by my standards but nonetheless enough to win both of my MLs and finish in a much healthier position than I anticipated.

Although I don't post often during the season I want to thank everyone who took the time to respond to my posts and offer advice, while conversely I hope the advice I gave to you was the right one!

Next season's target is top 10k which should be achievable provided my stubbornness and tendency to take hits don't get in the way. Until then it's gonna be a long summer but at least the speculation and preparation on here will should keep me sane once the Euros are over.

Thanks FFS for another season of laughs and advice! The dedication of all the regulars here is just incredible.

Currently OR 3.5k (with DDG), pretty stoked with that and wouldn't have been able to achieve it if it wasn't for all of you. Tough to keep up with all the developments here in Aus.

Thanks again and see you all soon!

Giru and Triple Arsenal b4 gw38:

anyone else had triple Arsenal not having Giru, but having Gabriel?
thus, needed to drop Gabriel ( guaranteed CS ) for, for ex VVD, so that one could drop defoe/carroll for giru?

wanted to do this , until payet got injured. hence had payet and firmino to drop, leaving defoe and carool. the rest is history w/ giru. such a shame.

big drop-off from least season's over-achievement. Well outside top 10k (34k), but then it's decent finish after a terrible start.

I focused too much on catching up my ML leader (finding differentials, captaincy, etc.) that it affected my OR. I know now that playing catch up is much harder after winning my MLs for 4 straight seasons! 😆

            How about you, Siva?

              GW 38 - 6,807

thought I could break into Top 2K .. last 2 GWs hurt my rank.. not a bad season after a terrible start.

3 Top 9K finishes & 3 ML wins in last 4 seasons.. hoping to better it next season..

      All speculation at the moment.

No Smalling would be handy though. Leading my ML by the solitary point after overturning a 40odd point deficit thanks to Giroud(c) & Baines. We both have Martial - he has Smalling... I've got Lingard 2nd sub should Martial not play...

Don't suppose we know who is going to play in this rescheduled United game, but I rather hope Van Gaal values the wisdom of his captain.

I've come oh so close in the final week but fallen on both key fronts - lost my personal ML by 2 points if Smalling doesn't play, lost a cash league worth $3K because I chose Tadic over Mane.

Still, sitting currently at 7.2K I'd imagine I'll retain a 4 figure rank, and that was my goal at the beginning of the season, so I can't complain too much.

I hope that everybody had an enjoyable season, see you all in a few months time when the tinkering begins again! 😛

Hearing that the device involved at Old Trafford was an incompetently left from training is somewhat a relief that it wasn't someone nefariously getting it through security or a fan trying to get advantage by having the game delayed so their team knew what is required to finish in a higher position.

Cheers, will go up to around 18K or so. Holding onto the WC so long was a big error especially when you look at Butland vs Ruddy etc. Could have been a much better season but made mistakes all the way through really.

Absolutely true. I went with Ruddy and Rudd (wtf) and stick with em quite so long, and was very, very late on the Mahrez wagon (skeptical at best) and was too patient with Hazard.

        haha no, no Rooney.

I have a 19pt lead and I have bottom two
and he has Prodl off the bench if Smalling doesn't play, plus top three.

Big big big thank you to everyone on here who contributes content, whether it be full length articles or just comments. It all gets read and I can attest to the fact that every little bit helps. Best season ever personally, climbing to 117 OR this morning (Australia) and #1 in the national league. Will be short lived due to auto-subs and Smalling benching potential, but over the moon regardless.

I haven't posted on here often as I have generally felt unqualified to have an opinion, but that may change next season 🙂

I was pretty pleased but oh well. Onward and upward next season!

BTW TM, can you let me know which week I was knocked out of LMS? Was cruising along and noticed I was gone at some stage before GW35 which I'm sure would have done me in anyway.

Coming out of last season I thought it would be a few months/years of misery. Thrilled with the improvement with Malthouse gone.

Going to Port not an easy task, but if we can beat them you certainly can!

Right boys... attention turns to next season...

My first full year on FFS, after 12/13 years of FPL, so I'm wondering if there is any more sophisticated way of knowing when FPL is re-launched then my tried-and-trusted method of refreshing the page daily once we get near to a likely start date.

I always want to secure the lowest FPL ID I can... Yeah, I know... 😆

Yes, based on the order in which you register your team.

I got as low as 13,261 this year, which I'm narrowly beating with my OR. I'd like to set myself a tougher target next year 😀

Pleasure! Have to be honest, that wasn't my thinking at the start of the season. I'm only just realised when considering my FPL ID this morning that this could be a good benchmark for next year.

(providing I'm not slow and end up with a 100k+ FPL ID)

13286 plus autosubs in first seaskn, so I think that I won't fall out of top15k. Given that this season was a nightmare, I'm very happy with my result and I hope it wasn't just luck of a newbie.

I'm in a tough spot. Leading my ML by 10 points and have de Gea and Smalling to play. My rival has de Gea, Smalling, Rojo, Daniels to play. A 0-0 result might see me losing that slender lead of mine. If de Gea doesn't play, i have 0 points from mannone against his 3 point from Smeichel on the bench.

I think it's done on number of transfers made? The logic being that the player who took the least amount of transfers to reach that number of points is more deserving. I'm not 100% sure though.

What transfer numbers are the better teams sitting on this season? I assume there is somewhat a sweet spot where there are hits taken but not too many.

    I am personally between 10k & 20k with 42 transfers.
I haven't taken a lot of hits, always start season poorly and improve as season goes. Missed the 1st WC by days as I stupidly didn't note the rule change for it.

Last seqson i had about 50 transfers and i was 4800th, now with 55 im arond 50k.
I think that luck is the main factor

I have taken 56 transfers, and I think that's a good big above average.

Whenever I check my rank I'm at the lower end of teams with the same score as me.
