Contemplating building my team around a top 5 of Rooney-RVP-DVD-Silva-Lamps for the Xmas.

    Vorm Hilario
    Caulker/Monk/McAuley Brown Wilko Enrique Simpson
    VDV Silva Allen Johnson Moses

Too late IMO to jump on the Barn Door transfer. Not worth 8.8m, esp considering he's going to be his quite self when DVD returns.

His scores have still been brilliant, even when VDV wasn't there, definately worth 8.8, i'd price him at around 10-10.5 the way he has been scoring this season.

Is that not a lot of money to have invested in rotation-risk players? I'd rather you reduce a couple of those to improve Helg, Moses, Allen... which Johnson is this? Adam Johnson? And why have Hilario? Defence seems fine though.

That 5 looks terrible to be honest. RVP should be the only certainty. Even Silver doesn't have the easiest ride till Jan WC.

VDV - Injured a lot so is a new rotation doubt, xpensive
Rooney - Hasn't looked good of late, I wouldn't put my faith in him at this stage, xpensive
Lamps - Doesn't look good and is a rotation doubt, xpensive

VDV – Injury prone, agreed. Rotation risk - disagree.
I wouldn't mind him playing 1 game in 2 GWs and giving me 10-15 pts.
Rooney – He's getting there...slowly. Wolves will be his comeback game, by which time most people would have lost faith in him.
Lamps – Expensive - agreed. But totally worth it - FKs, Penos, Corners, CAM. Not a rotation doubt IMO. He's our top goalscorer this season. As much I'd like to have him on the bench, we lack experience in midfield to do so. Saturday was a one-off.

          I dunno.
Pretty sure AVB is smart enough to realise Chelsea's two best games this season were against Wolves (the first half at least) and Swansea....Lampard didn't play at all against the Swans and they won 4-1 with 10 men, against Wolves they were killing it in the first half, dropped off in the second, and dropped off even more when Lampard came on.
Not saying he's a bad player, but Chelsea are better without him.

Hmm, no doubt that Lamps needs to be replaced eventually (possibly by Jan). But as of now, we have no suitable replacement at that position.

IMO, this Wol game (with no Hara & Hunt) isn't even worth considering. Even Wigan could have beat them by 2-3 goals. Our movement with Swa was very fluid without Lamps, agreed. But not enough to judge how reliable it could be all the time. I thought our best movement & creativity against Bol & Qpr - both with Lamps on as a very advanced role.

But I'd say AVB should defo try out Mata at LAM instead of LW. Only then, will we know.

I agree with getting in the Spurs trio. Spurs are playing excellent football right now, and imo have the second best midfield in the PL. Perhaps Adebayor is replaceable, but there's a lack of scoring midfielders at the moment, so Bale and VDV seem well worthwhile.

have 4.2 to spend on a defender, and the way I see it is you are more likely to get a cleanie from Swansea as opposed to WBA/Norwich/any other defenders that arent Wilkinson/Brown/Simpson.

Not particularly I just don't know who else to get.

I don't think much of their defence, CS's seem few and far between. Adebayor is a 2 transfer addition that will require downgrading someone. Also as a rule I never have 2 players from the same team in each position type, so adding to VDV in midfeild seems to go against my beliefs ;).

The thing I've noticed about Bale this year is that he's getting most of his points late in games on the counter whilst the opponents are pushing for an equaliser, so it'll be interesting to see if his FPL form dips if Spurs stop having games their own way.

Na mate I was away for the weekend so didnt bet much, came back yesterday to watch us lose 1-0 to killie and i doubled villa and city so that combined with a horrendous GW kind of put me in a c*nt of a mood.

I know you have rangers on to win the league with your mate, Rangers are a general 8/11 for it, Celtic are 11/10 everywhere, apart from Unibet where they are 9/5. That means you can bet on both to win the league, and make around 6% guaranteed profit, i think...

Rooney is a VERY tough call... United haven't been doing well, but apparently there was a spark in them at the end of the Newcastle game that may just carry on now...

I think he had a few shots off target... silva doesn't really make a difference since everyone who matters has him...

Not so much of a shock for me. Didn't do much IMO, except that corner & the last attempt on goal.

ok maybe silva not having a high ppi isn't a shock, what it shows is an og doesn't matter that much.

    Vorm / Kenny
Enrique / Simpson / Naylor / Wilko / De Laet
    Silva / Lamps / Nani / Bale / Dyer
    Ade / RVP / Sturridge

0.2m in the bank, 1 free transfer. Thoughts? Flown up the rankings recently into the top 5k, but have already played my wildcard and need to get a good squad going into Xmas. If VDV is fit, I think I'll be forced into Lamps > VDV, but if he isn't, I'm not sure what to do next.

    team as is

    Vorm (Ruddy)

    Kompany, Jags, Brown, Simpson (Barnett)

    Silva, VDV, Bale, Larsson (Allen)

    RVP, Aguero (Graham)

not sure what to do. have 1 freebie but can't do much. have .5 to spend..

looking at VDV > Walters and Graham > Adebayor

or Aguero > Ba and Graham > Ade

The Stoke fixtures aren't what they were a few weeks ago, although Walters has been very consistent. I prefer the second option but next week if you can save up the two frees, I probably wouldn't do it for a hit.

yeah if i was to bring walters/adebayor it would have to before either rises again.. seems a bit knee jerky but looks good. Walters seems to be the goto man for Stoke.

    Couple of questions...

Is Balotelli suspended for 1 match (i.e just the Carling Cup) or 3? I haven't got him but his presence, or lack of, affects Aguero's chances of starting vs Norwich.

Also, is Adebayor's loan from City season long or just until the January window. Just that with Tevez on his way out, there may be a small possibility that he could be recalled.

Balotelli won't miss any league games.

No idea if Adebayor is a season long loan.

Balo is suspended for one match, my understanding is that Ade is not part of Mancini's plans and that the loan is season long.

Have kept the faith with Nani and Suarez for too long now, one of them has to go until GW20 WC. Currently thinking Suarez, can't seem to score even when he is playing well. Not too keen on Man Utd's new found low scoring ways either tho. Maybe both and do Suarez first?

    Alreet lads

Anyone looking for a cheapie midfielder, might want to consider Obertan. He's actually starting to look decent. played well against stoke and Man U. Nailed on until at least the next WC as Marveaux is injured. Pardew loves him. And we have great fixtures coming up. Won't score many goals, but should get a few assists. Worth a punt for 4.9 million. Having said that, you'd still be better off finding the extra .5m for HBA. As an OOP playing for an in form toon with great upcoming fixtures, all for 5.4m I reckon he's an absolute no brainer! Who's with me?

Why after the chelsea game? They haven't exactly got the tightest defence going. I fancy us to get put a few past them, and I would expect him to be involved! He's coming in for me this week.
