Man United’s early season attacking form may have dried up dramatically but there’s no denying the Fantasy potential of Javier Hernandez continues to flourish. Three goals in his last four fixtures means the Mexican is the subject of our latest “Talent” article for Members…

The champions started the season on fire, bagging 21 goals in their opening five fixtures but since then, they have found the net just 9 times in the following eight games, scoring more than a single goal on just one occasion. Fantasy managers may have abandoned the likes of Wayne Rooney, Nani and Ashley Young in their droves but Hernandez has maintained a steady progress that has seen him the subject of Fantasy attention.

While never really offering the type of explosive returns that merit the captain’s armband, Hernandez is perhaps the most consistent attacking option at Old Trafford. In terms of starts, his most barren run has been two games without a goal- Wayne Rooney, on the other hand, has failed to find the net in his last six starts and hasn’t scored since gameweek five- Hernandez has netted four times since then and has returned double the number of Fantasy points, 42 to Rooney’s 21.

With a strong run of fixtures for the foreseeable future and form most definitely on his side, we delve into the Opta stats available to Members and analyse our own ICT Index to highlight his recent performances.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

May as well just give Man City the Carling Cup now.

Cardiff or Palace will get annihilated by Citeh in the final. It will be an embarrassment.

You need to get rid of him, Henry.

I hope he can get his fitness up and get another chance in the team. I'd hate to see him go and the Prem never ever actually see what he really can bring to the table.

I'm thinking of shelving either Drenthe or Sinclair for O'Hara or Eagles.

in all fairness Arsenal Chelsea & United played weaker teams for the CC, Man City & Liverpool fielded pretty strong teams so its no great surprise they went through but United should really be putting away Crystal Palace at home. I dont think any of the CC results will have any bearing on the final standings in the PL. Also, Spurs are better than tonights result suggests. The next few games will tell how strong City are going to be this season, I dont think they were overly convincing last night either

Only saw extra time tonight, but wow Darron Gibson. I've been pretty patient with up, hate how it's always him getting the shtick, but tonight I think I've had it with him. Shot 4 times in extra time, every time he got withing 40 yards of the goal. not once, did he force a save from the keeper.

He has a reasonable amount of talent, but is far too lazy to be a Manchester United player.

      Not over 2 legs.

      City's 2nd team will win.

Palace or Cardiff better hope that Liverpool get through cos Man City, if they play a first choice XI at Wembley will rip both clubs apart.

I think he means he disagree's with me that Liverpool won't win over two legs.

I think Liverpool will have more than enough to win, they may have a weaker squad on paper, and maybe the pitch, but I see them wanting it more. Bear in mind that City have had to play UCL matches too and City will stop going all out soon. In any case, we'll see.

Don't work like that, you never see United fans saying they beat an Arsenal side resembling a reserve side 8-2, you see them saying they beat Arsenal.

Nice try to gloss it over.

An Arsenal side containing RVP, Walcott, Ramsey, Koscielny, Rosicky, Szcnesny.. All these mentioned are playing or on the bench at most every game.. Hardly a reserve team.

The united 11 which beat arsenal would have beaten this palace side, fact.

In my opinion, saying a United team is not a United team is fairly stupid.
That team today was United's team of future footballing greats like Darron "Pele" Gibson, Antonio "Diego" Valencia and Johnny "Terry" Evans.

Evans and Valencia played well actually. Gibson is shit and they've already tried to offload him. The future is Cleverley, Pogba, Morrison, Keane bros, Tunnicliffe, Amos.

It wasn't United 1st team or even their 2nd team.

Do not go gentle into that good night,
                  Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Seems that Valencia and Gibson were the only players at the end who were firing on all cylinders. The rest just couldn't keep up. Suppose that what reserves aren't used to.

I though valencia was poor as well to be honest. He was constanly being shown the line by their full back, yet he never got to the line and crossed the ball in. Also, valencia never seems to whip a ball in to invite someone to finish it. It always seems to be a chipped ball to the back post which is very difficult to convert. He's been a big disappointment for me. Also, gibson was terrible- he always was and he always will be. He has a powerful shot but that's about it.

Nevertheless, they're supposed to be some of the best young players around, they have the best manager and facilities, training techniques, coaches etc that money can buy. Some of them were bought for many millions of pounds. They should be able to (AT HOME might I add) beat a Palace team who haven't as much as scored a goal in their last 5 games.

If t was the starting XI from Saturday that got beat then yeah, it would be a big deal to me.

However, most of the kids playing today will never graduate to the first team, others will end up in the same division that Palace were in and a few will probably not even be playing for any full time professional club in a few years.

If you want to get your jollies by overplaying tonight's result cos you hate `united so much then go for it and knock yourself out.

In fairness, 4vets *is* an intelligent poster here - and he's right to boot.

SAF treated the game as a reserve match, thinking they'd be good enough. They weren't. It's not the end of the world - but don't diminish Palace's achievement or SAF's overconfidence.

After this performance, many won't be playing for Utd again - and that means something positive came out of this for them.

Fergie picked a United team that got beat.
Its not that difficult to comprehend to be honest.

Who in that United team won't be playing for a professional team in a few years time?

8 were established pros (Evans, Smalling, Da Silva x2, Gibson, Park, Valencia, Berbs). Only Amos, Macheda and Diouf are not but to talk about them as kids is laughable.

Meh. You have bigger fish to fry, Dave.

You cannot take anything for granted in any sport and that's why they play the games.

On the night Palace played better. But if you played that game 100 times your reserves probably still win 95 of them and several of those victories would probably be ass whuppings too.

Just happened to be on those nights where the 5% rule applied.

The Drenthe thing is a bit of a funny one, he has an ankle knock so thats why he missed the last game. Apparently there was some mild strife with Moyes, when coupled with Moyes's praise for Bilyhoweveryouspelltherestofhisnameov has lead to people on here declaring him a dead duck.

Bit hasty in my opinion, I'm keeping. If he is indeed injured or out of favour this GW I'd get rid.

        general rule I have adhered to with 100% success rate this season;

If ATB talks about keeeping a said player in his team - SELL IMMEDIATELY

transfer complete Drenthe -------> any fooker (4 point hit)

      Thinking about it myself.

Lets face it, he probably has more chances of keeping a cleanie at Loftus Road than Hennessey has at Molineaux (or however the hell its spelt).

    Good team for this gameweek?

    Vorm (Krul)
    Baines, Jones, Enrique, Brown
    Silva, Bale, Dyer
    RVP (VC), Aguero, Adebayor (C)

    Subs; 1.McAuley 2.Walters 3.B.Johnson

    Good transfers for next GW?
    Aguero -> Ba
Walters -> Nani? Mata? Walcott? VDV?
