Think I'm going to stick with forwards for this week. RVP, Aguero and Sturridge. Have 2M bank and if I did let go of Aguero(to Ade most likely) it would give me additional cash to put to midfield. Other xfer option this week would be Kompany to Vermaelen for an extra .7. Thoughts?

Personally I'm relishing the fact that we can pack the midfield now with decent cheap striker options available now. It's how I prefer to set out my team, and for the first time this season I feel it's now a valid tactic again.

Aguero has Chel, Ars, Sto, wba, sun coming up. To let go of him feels like a very big move to me. He is the most consistent starter in that high scoring Man C attack

Have thought about Rooney also as it would allow me the move back to Aguero. Hard to say on rotation with Man C. but Aguero has been as nailed on as can be there for premiership in spite of CL. Europa for Man C if they fail during the week but Mancini will have his whole focus on the Prem if that scenario comes to pass.

That's my dilemma - P Jones looks like he's rising tonight and if I wait I can't do the transfers tomorrow. Would you take the gamble and make the transfers now, or wait till tomorrow and settle for Ba instead of Suarez?

How about doing Woody > Jones tonight, and wait and see how Liverpool do tomorrow?

I sense a more attacking style without Lucas, and Suarez just might benefit from that. Can see him explode in the next few weeks tbh

If Jones and Suarez are the players you really want for the coming weeks I say do it. Was in the same position many weeks ago when I had to get RVP before a rise with a CL game coming up. The rest is good fortune. Only do it though if they are the players that you think are the best for the way forward in your team

With the number of top mids you have I think you could afford to downgrade one to help get Jones in.

Your team is very, very similar to mine. Same defence besides Brown (who went out for Verm this week), same forwards, two (soon to be three) of the same mids.

If you still have VDV keep him, Defoe was very wasteful, i'd expect a 451 with VDV off Ade at Stoke.

Tricky. Doubling up on SUN is dangerous. I'd have Simpson in for Brown.

Pretty good team. I'd be only concerned about Rambo & no attacking Utd coverage.

Brunt in for 1 week at home to Wigan, then you're bound to:

      1) transfer him back out.
      2) want VDV back...

Thanks to all who gave advice, I went for VDV -> Bale in the end. Will save 2 transfers for next week and will be quite happy to get VDV back in for someone else if he can show form, fitness and lack of rotation risk. Judging by my transfer history that's probably likely, so I'd start switching your Bales to VDVs asap.

When will the yellow flag drop on Drenthe?

Who are other people looking at for the DGW?

When he comes back and plays...

Honestly - 3 Spurs: I have Walker and Bale, may look to get Adebayor in as well.
Everton - currently have Howard, but very disappointed with his returns. Drenthe's injured and Baines is too expensive. Otherwise, no others. Maybe Rodwell if he starts regularly but Everton don't scoore many or keep enough CS.

      DGW still 5 weeks away...

The spurs trio of Bale, VDV & Ade look good, possibly losing 1 for a def.
No 1 really appealing atm from Everton. Don't want a def due to the Spurs attack... maybe just Drenthe should he improve by the DGW. Jags is a Possiblity.

EVE has BOL, tot; TOT have WBA, EVE - both home.

Yes that trio definitely. Everton, Baines if you can afford him and maybe Drenthe/Rodwell. They have literally NO strikers and their defence wouldn't be appealing either.

Me personally may field Howard, Rodwell, Walker, Bale and Ade.

No other team has a good fixture that week bar CHE(wol) & AV(SWA).

        True enough!

Mostly just looking to free up cash for Rooney so I can instantly make the transfer if he lights things up again.

        Vorm (Al-Habsi)

Raylor, Jose Enrique, Assou-Ekotto (Brown, Kompany)

        Silva, Mata, Walters, Sinclair (Moses)

        RvP, Aguero, Yakubu

Any other suggestions for a transfer? .5 in the bank, need .7 to do Aguero > Rooney (at any given time). 1ft. Could bank it to do 2 next week? Aguero and Sinclair are the only 2 I vaguely want to get rid of

That's to free up funds; I'd probably save the transfer this week. If Sunderland continue to suck next week then you might want to ship Brown. Moses has tough fixtures upcoming. Raylor's ability to get clean sheets might come in to question now that Saylor and Coloccini are injured. Also, I have Vorm/Al-Habsi and am looking to do Al-Habsi -> Krul/Schwarzer in a week or two.

I think an alternative could be to load up on DGW players in GW20 & use the Jan WC for GW21.

The other one - Depends on when the big teams get DGWs.

Yeah, that was my original plan, but TOT still have 2 great fixtures after the DGW (WOL and WIG in GW21 and 23), and I'll probably only have 1 or 2 Everton players for the DGW as I don't see them getting much from it. Currently have VDV and Ade and will work towards getting either BAE or Bale, Drenthe and possibly Jags in between now and GW20....

Fair enough. That's more than a valid strategy.

For me, I need to clean my bench players bigtime. And I don't see myself wasting FTs on them until GW21.

Yeah he will for sure. I just think Saylor and Collo were 95% of the reason why NEW kept it tight so far this season. Now they have Raylor (can't defend), Perch (awful), Simpson (not a centre back) and Santon (unproven) at the back. Put it this way, if I was a striker facing that lot I would be licking my lips....

        Or more specifically,

        Player Prices

Player prices change during the season dependent on the popularity of the player in the transfer market. Player prices do not change until the season starts.

The price shown on your transfers page is a player's selling price. This selling price may be less than the player's current purchase price as a sell-on fee of 50% (rounded up to the nearest £0.1m) will be applied on any profits made on that player.

For example, if you buy a player for £8.3m and when you transfer him his price is £9.0m, his selling price will be £8.6m.

Why Rooney I cuold understand. Why Vidic is a little harder to fathom... He's one of the best defenders in the game and MUN have great fixtures. Please explain to me why not?

I think P Jones offers the same returns and saves you 1.5m. Verm is also a million cheaper. No arguments Vidic is a great FF prospect, it's just his price that bothers some people....

1st of all RVP is a must have.

Vidic is a Gun, But why not go for Jones and save the $$$ and use it elsewhere

Sorry had to do some work

Vidic is nailed on and I believe he will score goals over the next 5 GW's obviously otherwise I would go Jones

Classic H2H dilemma: Considering it’s a must win game for me, which one would win?

Common players: Vorm; Enrique; Silva, VDV; Studge, RVP.

Me: Brown, Simpson; Sinclair, Bale, Helguson
My Rival: Naylor/Kompany, Jones; Brunt, Mata, Adebayor

I’m guessing my rival would do Mata/VDV > Bale with his FT this GW. I have 5mil in my bank.

Should I try to differentiate and get the Verminator/Suarez/Ba/Vidic in?

Cheers would you get him in for a hit for ShawX, considering my defence of Brown - Simpson - Enrique?

Cheers. Seems the popular opinion around here! But do you reckon Newcastle will go on the offensive, considering how they're weakened at the back?

Don't see much love on here for Charlie Adam. Pool have great fixtures coming up.
I am thinking of ditching Baines for Jags and upgrading Drenthe to Adam
    Wise move?

I was thinking about getting Charlie in. In the end I went for Yaya as he's cheaper and City are scoring for fun. Can't see pool getting more than a couple of goals a game (fixtures notwithstanding), so odds of an Adam goal / assist low. Plus he's not the BAPs magnet he was last year under this system.

have you seen him this year? Not playing well at all imo, very, very fortunate to be in the points at all. 2 of his goals have been the most ridiculous I've seen this year, crazy deflections, and he gives the ball away far too often with his hollywood passes. gamble to bring him in, but he has been putting the points up...

He hasn't been great, but part of the game is to get players in before they hit form and he could be a good point of difference. I also want Liverpool coverage for the next few games

So Aaron Ramsey ... what the hell is going on with him, is he just a garbage shot on goal? Have been as patient as is humanly possible ... time to ditch, and for whom?

thinking about doin Baines and Walters/Sessegnon to N.Taylor and Nani for free and captainin Nani.. not a knee jerk as my defense way too expensive anyway and i've lost faith in Everton and Baines after watching em yesterday and i'd prefer Sessegnon in my team rather than Walters for some reason.. team for this week would be
    Vorm
    Jones Enrique McAuley
    Silva Bale Nani(c) Sessegnon
    Rvp Adebayor Sturridge
    Krul Richards Pilkington N.Taylor

Got 2 frees so wanna use them..

does make sense, although one bad day for baines wouldnt be enough to ditch him - everton still have good fixtures and he's been back to his old dangerous self recently!

it's not one bad day.. there's no one to convert his crosses(just 2 or 3 per game).. Everton dont look like keeping clean sheets.. Osman taking some corners.. So it's just penalties and direct free kicks.. which is a bit too little from a 7.8 defender.. R.taylor takes direct free kicks and has a better chance of clean sheets for 2.7 cheaper!

        and looking at those fixtures
ars NOR sun wba tot in.. can only see a possible clean sheet in BOL/SWA games.. not worth keepin him only for attackin points as he is a defender after all

i'm more worried about the walters out bit.. i wanna play sessegnon this week but long term walters still playin oop and on penos.. may just do baines to vermaelen this week.. enjoy a price rise.. get 2 free transfers next week and then do the same move/reassess and get Mata/VDV instead of nani

understand that you would want to keep walters great value for his price. am moving towards vernmaelen myself - just have not decided if i will do it this week. I like this move more gives you more options and it seems like it's a better fit for this week
