Anyone else not convinced by Vermaelen.. 6.8 for an arsenal defender who always look like concedin a goal a game.. also he wont score 10-15 goals a season and has already got 3.. he's a CB after all.. cant see him keepin it up.. yet i am very tempted by him:(

I think the prospects of clean sheets go way up at arsenal with him in. he's a great attacking player and will keep it up(not at the rate he is now) I want him

i want him too.. will take the plunge end of the week.. by then he's name will be in every rmt, he'll have shot up the watchlist.. will have an article about him and will be in the scout picks.. in other words he'll look irresistible

        Howdy jafa!

That philosophy is amazing, I have to admit it kinda worked this GW too 😛 Though it has left me with 5 mil in the bank & I don't know where to invest.

You reckon Suarez/Roonpig could hit form this GW? Or go the Ade/Ba route?

Nice scoring ENR and congrats on your second L5 win 😉

You have another 6 pts with Jose too.

If Roopig doesn't deliver this week, he's for the pork chop. Personally, I think Adebayor is needed as one of your front 3. I looked at the last 4 gwk data and he heads shots/on target.

My first L5 win, actually. Yeah baby..though I look fwd to beating a FFS-L5er 😛

            Close call for you eh?

I'd love to get in Adebayor this GW, but that won't do it for me in another H2h, which is a must-win. So I'm looking to gamble on Ba/Suarez/Roonpig (if he drops by 0.2). I need a pull off a Yakubu for GW15 😛

Dead Zone? As far as I'm aware, I'm not part of that nor the so-called "L5 Club". Besides, I already have expensive defenders in Kompany, Jose Enrique and Shawcross, and now I'm looking at Shawcross out for one for the ones suggested above.

What do people think of this team?

    Vorm/Ruddy

    Vermallen/Richards/Jones/Simpson/Jakielka
    Bale/Silva/Nani/Dyer/Ben Arfa
    Yakabu/Van Persie/Sturridge

I really like attacking defenders and I like Nani/Sturridge, they are probably gonna be season keepers for me (along side Van Persie obviously)

Ben Arfa...I need newcastle coverage, is he likely to play longer then 45min a game? Anybody know the reason why he was benched at half time this week?

Was considering getting Ageuro in instead of Silva but theres no good cheap midfielders that can do the damage that Yakubu does

Not a Ben Arfa fan I'm afraid.
Bale, Silva, Nani - nice work 🙂
      RVP check
      Studge check
Yak 😯 far too much kneejerkery here. Ba could be your man if you are after NEW players.

Downgrade the defence to get in Adebayor.

Yeah I had Ba in my team up front with RVP/Sturridge but took him out because I couldn't find a good 5.5ish midfielder except for Ben Arfa and I didn't want both Ba and him!

I'll prob get rid of Jags for a cheap defender...hmmm!

    Johnson/Buzaky/Britton

    Good morning,
    I am thinking of:
    1. Save transfer this week and do 2 next week eg VDV to Bale or Drenthe to a cheaper midfielder like O'Hara or Eagles so I can upgrade S.Taylor to P.Jones
    2. Transfer out S.Taylor to BAE/Walker before tomorrow's price rises and drops

    What do you think?

    My team is:
    Vorm
    Enrique, Brown, Vermaelen
    VDV, Silva, Sinclair, Walters
    RVP(C), Sturridge, Adebayor (VC)
    Subs: Ruddy, Drenthe, Richards, S.Taylor

Not too sure about Sinclair and Saylor as Swansea have had bad fixtures, Sinclair isn't injured and he can score highly at home, also Drenthe has looked great when he's played and it's just unfortunate that he's injured at the moment. I agree with Saylor and his price will be dropping soon but who should I swap him out for - most defenders I am interested in have bad fixtures next GW - I can afford a maximum of 6M, I have been considering Santos, BAE and Walker

I don't think there's any great rush to get rid of Drenthe unless you have someone you're specifically targetting.

Unless that's the case, you might as well hang onto him until the DGW. I know I am.

Seeing that RVP is set for 2 bonus points hurts. My internet connection died ten minutes before 11.30 when I was desperately trying to change the captaincy from Adebayor. Oh well.

On other matters, was Wilkinson dropped this week?

I was going to drop Sturridge for Ba this week but he keeps making me hold onto him!

Might do either VDV to Walcott or Ramsey to Larsson. Maybe both for a hit.

Bendy, VDV/Silva (hence my other question) and Baines are out, any change in VDV price does not affect me unless its 0.2

        Silva VDV

        Chelsea (A) Stoke (A)
        Arsenal (H) Sunderland (H)
        Stoke City (H) Chelsea (H)

Is Smalling worth a cheeky punt? - if he plays a good chance of a clean sheet, if not and you have a decent bench, someone'll come on for him as he usually starts or doesn't play at all (only twice all season has he come on for 30 mins or less and scored badly)

Exact same issue I have! I want to bring in both Vermaelen and Evra, but it would mean removing Shawcross and Kompany or Jose Enrique, neither of which I want to lose. I'm tempted to go with 4 expensive defenders, but it would mean benching one of them or Walters or Larsson every week.

technically, im not very attracted by nani/young in the 4-4-2 system. there is smthn just wrong there.
with 4-2-3-1 with nani playing in the hole as last week after chicha hobbed off, then he is definitly first on my watchlist for vdv, however im afraid this was just to rest welbeck for the CL high importance game with berba owen and chicha injured

do you think it's time to sale newcastle defense?
reports that steven taylor is out for the season and collocini doubtful, with williamson still injured (hand and ankle at the same time, even hargreaves never managed to do that!) leaves perch as the only 18+ defender CB (although he's not a natural CB, not even a natural football player)
i have raylor and still can wait 0.1 on his price drop before losing value

I don't see the point in selling my NEW defender (Simpson) when
      1. There is nobody else out there for similar price that is a better options.
      2. They still have easy fixtures, no reason they can't keep a few cleanies.

who's gonna play at CB then?
they will have to turn to their teenagers, or put tiote there, dnt forget that cabaye is also injured so gosling and guthrie will be sharing the midfield duties in this case

          Cabaye isn't injured?
And with Tiote expected back this GW, they are hardly lacking decent midfielders.
So, who are you going to get instead of Raylor who poses more of an attacking threat, can keep more cleanies and has better fixtures?

Well I wouldn't double up on Newcastle defense but Krul is class, not getting rid of him. Those who have R Taylor shouldn't get rid either

Tricky. The ones I don't like are Brunt, Sess, Ferg, Jones and BAE.

You have no Utd attacking coverage so I'd be looking to work Nani in midfield via Jones/Brunt.

the only thing forcing me to keep brunt is wigan(h). watched them play arsenal on sat and well, they're bound to concede 2 or 3 goals. same with sess(home to b'burn)

jones is definitely staying, e asy fixtures coming up. bae will be rotated in my team, will only start when spurs have a home game

with christmas just around the corner, ferguson's the only one who will go out this week

Who are people spendin money on in attack.. may i ask? Apart from
Silva Bale Rvp Adebayor there really seems to be no one worth spendin on
Nani - out of form.. spend every week worryin about game time
    VDV - Hamstring and Defoe
Mata - hmmm.. ok maybe he could be worth a punt.. but 9.7 when sturridge does the same for 6.6!!
    Rooney - out of form
Aguero - never gets a full 90 minutes and is'nt exactly lightin the world on fire.. bad fixtures too

Cant find any place to spend my money except defense.. sure it'll all change in a few weeks though

a 1 week punt on Bent could be gold this week against a second string Bolton defense

I have Ba and am adding Mata next week. The Sturridge = Mata argument is irrelevant, you can only play three strikers. Mata is arguably one of the 4 real premium mids along with Silva, VDV and Bale.
