The EA Sports Player Performance Index numbers are out, with the Fantasy Premier League applying them to the game to add the gameweek 14 bonus points. Here’s a match-by-match breakdown of how they map out….

Blackburn 4 Swansea 2
Bonus – Yakubu 3, Samba 2, Givet & Vukcevic 1

It’s no surprise to find four-goal Yakubu leading the way in the PPI stakes from this game. Indeed, the Nigerian recorded the top overall PPI score of the gameweek, with a huge return of 73. Assists and defensive statistics saw both Chris Samba and Gael Givet record big PPI totals, with Simon Vukcevic’s two assist contribution from the bench enough to see him share a single bonus point with Givet. Scott Dann and Jason Lowe were just outside the bonus reckoning as the Blackburn defence racked up some decent numbers in the 4-2 win.

Wigan 0 Arsenal 4
Bonus – Van Persie 3, Arteta 2, Vermaelen 1

Robin Van Persie once again seals the maximum bonus thanks to a goal and a pair of assists in the 4-0 win at Wigan. Once more he’s joined by Mikel Arteta and Thomas Vermaelen, who seem regular recipients of bonus in recent weeks. Arteta sneaks ahead of the Belgian by 3 PPI points to claim the 2 bonus here. Gervinho missed out on a share of the single bonus by just one PPI point.

Newcastle 0 Chelsea 3
Bonus – Terry 3, Sturridge 2, Kalou 1

A clean sheet and an array of impressive defensive statistics were enough to see John Terry claim the top PPI score from Chelsea’s 3-0 win. He topped Daniel Sturridge by a clear 10 points, the striker’s efforts off target perhaps contributing to the margin. Salomon Kalou’s goal from the bench saw him nudge past Ramires by a single PPI point to claim the remaining bonus.

Man City 5 Norwich 1
Bonus – Yaya Toure 3, Silva 2, Nasri 1

The PPI rankings looked hard to predict in this game, and so it proved. Yaya Toure’s goal and midfield efforts were enough to have him claim the maximum here, but bonus for David Silva and Samir Nasri both looked unlikely. Nasri edged out fellow goalscorers Adam Johnson and Sergio Aguero to claim the single bonus point, while Silva’s assist and attacking efforts were enough to see him earn the two.

Spurs 3 Bolton 0
Bonus – Defoe 3, Bale 2, Lennon 1

Tottenham’s three goalscorers hogged the top PPI ranks here, with Defoe claiming top spot and the maximum FPL bonus. Gareth Bale trailed by just 4 PPI, while Lennon recorded 11 PPI less than the Welshman but still held off the claims of Luka Modric and Kyle Walker to claim the remaining bonus point.

QPR 1 West Brom 1
Bonus – Long 3, Barton 2, Gabbidon & Young 1

Shane Long’s equaliser helped him to a PPI score of 30, nudging him ahead of QPR’s Joey Barton to fetch the maximum bonus in the Loftus Road stalemate. Those two were streets ahead of the pack, with Daniel Gabbidon and Luke Young sharing a single bonus back on 13 PPI.

Aston Villa 0 Man United 1
Bonus – Jones 3, Nani 2, Vidic & Smalling 1

The deciding goal from Phil Jones, coupled with a clean sheet, unsurprisingly saw him earn the 3 bonus points from United’s win at Villa Park. Nani’s assist and attacking threat fetched him a PPI score of 29, with defenders Chris Smalling and Nemanja Vidic sharing a return of 20 to split the remaining bonus point.

Wolves 2 Sunderland 1
Bonus – Fletcher 3, Jarvis 2, Richardson 1

Steven Fletcher’s brace turned this game on its head and saw him claim an impressive 55 point PPI return. Matt Jarvis’ assist allowed him to edge ahead of the pack with a PPI of 22 to earn the 2 bonus, with Black Cats’ goalscorer Kieran Richardson fetching the final bonus with a PPI of 21.

Everton 0 Stoke 1
Bonus – Huth 3, Shawcross 2, Crouch, Whelan & Etherington 1

Goalscorer Robert Huth registered a PPI score of 40 to easily claim the maximum FPL bonus from Stoke’s 1-0 win at Goodison. Fellow centre-back Ryan Shawcross put in a strong defensive showing to push himself ahead of a chasing pack; his PPI score of 19 was just enough for him to earn the 2 bonus, with Peter Crouch, Matt Etherington and Glenn Whelan all sharing the remaining bonus point with PPI scores of 17.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Probably not but he could nick a goal or something, maybe it's just me i'm trying to be cautious this year and not take any hits, also depends on your team though it could pay off, in the long run.

Why not save a little and go with Evra? With Fabio injured he seem even more rotation proof. Goal/bonus not quite as good but still could be good for an assist.

I held off a transfer last week and managed 88 points! With Enrique to play tonight. I had 2 FTs but did one last night S.Taylor > BAE to beat the drop.

    Here is my team:

    Vorm / Al Habsi
    P.Jones / Kompany / Enrique / ShawX / BAE
    Silva / Sess / Murphy / Walters / Bale
    Agbonlahor / RVP / Adebayor

Which tranfer is my priority? I have 1.3m in the bank:

    A) Agbon > Ba
    B) Agbon > Yakubu
    C) Murphy > Anyone up to 1.3m greater?

    Any help would be great!

Tough one between Agbon for Ba or Yak.
Yak is in great form & great value but I think long term Ba is a better option.

Murphy to Yaya Toure maybe. But wouldn't take a 4point hit for that move and it wouldn't be a priority as you have other good options on the bench.

Overall you have a very good team.

If Coloccini is also injured we have:

Williamson (Still injured), Kadar (never played in PL), Henderson (Currently on loan at gateshead) and literally nobody else.

Hi guys, could i please have a bit of guidance with my team.

    Vorm (Given)
Simspon, Brown, J Enrique, (Shawcross), (Kompany)
Bale, Silva, Eagles, Scott Sinclair, (Drenthe)
    Van Persie, Adebayor, Hernandez.

I got Hernandez in for this current gameweek (sods law!). I have one free transfer and 0.4 in the bank. Obviously, I need to get Hernandez out (maybe for Demba Ba?).

However, should i use the excess money from replacing Hernandez to upgrade somewhere whilst taking a 4 point hit?

I will wait until tonight and see how Suarez does first though. Then i will replace Hernandez. Stuck betweeen Yak and Ba.

    A) Ben Arfa/Sinclair & Hernandez > Nani & Yak
    B) VDV & Hernandez > Bale & Aguero
    C) Hernandez - Ba/Yak

Leaning towards A at the moment. Either A or B would mean a 4 point hit but I want some attacking United coverage

I've got Hernandez too and need to get rid, prob for Ba to be honest. I've got the added aggrovation of S Taylor too! I'm going to have to take a hit (first one) and maybe upgrade to Vermaelen.

      Would give

      Vorm
      Kompany/Jones/Verm
      Silva/Larsson/Walters/Lampard
      Rvp/Agbonlahor/Ba

      Given/Naylor/Wilkinson/Dyer

As you can see, also need to get rid of Given and was going to do Lampard to Nani this week too until all the injuries turned up!!

To answer your question; I reckon C. I hate taking hits.

I've been lining up Sturridge > Ba in GW15 for weeks now, with VDV > Mata for Chelsea cover whenever I think I need it. Now I'm not so sure... anyone else thinking the same transfer? Ba could easily pop in a hat-trick in any of the next 3 games, but then Sturridge is looking good at the moment.

Yeah Jimnastics, I'm a big fan of Studge, have been among his biggest champions on here (as far as I can tell, anyway) and my opinion stands - excellent value and Chelski's most dangerous-looking and effective forward this season. For me he stays.

You (and perhaps I) might consider Ba in for Ade. Ade is a controversial selection because he'll play most Prem games and clearly has the ability to score big. Yet as we've seen perfectly illustrated over the last three GWs, he is far from clinical at the moment. I flagged up after the Villa/WBrom wins (2x goals in each for Ade) that he could and should have had 7-8 goals, and Sat's finishing against Bolton was similarly slack.

On form, Ba looks the more clinical of the two, IMO, right now, although he clearly have to consider the number of chances NEW/Tott will create. I will probably stick with Ade for now (I have other pressing transfer business to attend to) but will watch with interest over the next 3-4 GWs.

      Hope that helps. 🙂

youl struggle to find anything. The further north typically the more snow. but alot of games were called off last year diue to surrounding areas being unsafe for fans. So as admirable as your idea is i think its just going to be "wait and see"

Few have trouble these days, although Blackpool last season (no under-soil heating) saw some games called off, while Middlesbro in the past has been a problem because of ice in the area surrounding the ground, rather than in the stadium itself.

For that latter reason, the Barcodes could feasibly be at risk, perhaps the Lancashire/Scouse clubs, but it would take a lot of snow to fall in a very short space of time to be a problem.

Chances are, we'll have no weather-related issues this winter... as Michael Fish might promise. 🙂

Hope that helps, King Mil Missi.

Worth taking a punt on Welbeck now that Hernadez is out?

I am thinking about doing Sinclair and Hernadez out for Welback and Nani. Might be risky with United's current form but they do have great fixtures and they do seem like they could be great value.

My starting XI would then be:

    Krul
    Jones, Enrique, Jagielka
    Mata, VDV, Nani, Ramsey
    Aguero, Suarez, Welbeck

    Vorm, Wilkinson, Simpson, Ferguson
