  VDV took some corners from the in-swing side...besides, how do you explain him logging 87 minutes. As far as penos, Ade took them the past weeks VDV was out and they, I supposed wanted to stay with the hot hand.

Are my eyes deceiving me or is Senderos nailed on? Kelly could emerge as a decent shout. Once played 38 games during the 07 08 season.

Another potential bargain: Nedum Onohua. May be tough to be a bigger success than Boyata, though...

Here is my take on VDV penaltygate.

He simply didn't take the pen because he was feeling his hammy. When the penalty was awarded Ade and Defoe were debating who was going to take it, so it certainly wasn't a premeditated decision made in training.

IMO VDV is still Spurs first choice penalty taker.

  Ade was on it before and had the hot foot, lots of superstition around pens as well. As much as I wished (and my H2H opponent applauded) he would have taken it, he (Ade) was probably deputized along with Defoe last match and Harry probably forgot to review before the match...

  Sometimes you've just gotta take a hit to get out of jail. This sees like one of those times. I might go VDV - Mata, tho, seeing as you are getting Roons anyway and do you need to move Drenthe this week? Isn't there still a chance he will play and not drop in value this week? Even if he doesn't play you'll have 11 with 3 transfers and an extra 4pts.

I'm having some difficulty in finding a suitable replacement for Vidic - I was thinking of Baines for the DGW but I could do with replacing perhaps Lennon in midfield in future as the most obvious weak link. The only possible replacements I can think of at the moment are Smalling or Jagielka. :S Are those my best bets is there anyone obvious that I may be missing?

  Still not seeing the value in Baines - cleansheets far from guaranteed and Everton are weak up front. If only somebody like Timmy Cahill came back into form then i'd be more positive about that transfer nothwithstanding the good fixtures.

    Getting Vermaelen in would only leave me with 9.8m if I wanted to upgrade Lennon - I initially got Vidic to be able to upgrade to Baines but my priorities are in getting someone who can score well in fantasy terms, but giving me cash to upgrade other areas.
    
    I guess I could play Simpson but it would mean playing 2 Newcastle defenders and maybe having to play Sinclair too.

    My midfield is currently Bale, Lennon, Drenthe, Sinclair, Silva
    
    I'd like to have a choice of VDV/Mata/Nani/Walcott in any of my midfielders really as I don't like any of them except Silva. 😛 I have Vidic+1.7m in bank at the moment so if I do Vidic to Vermaelen, I'd only have 9.8m to spend on midfield.

A) Ramsey & Brown > Jagielka & Jarvis (was O'hara)
or knee jerk for 4 pt hit
B) Ramsey, Brown & Dzeko > Nani Fletcher & Heitinga.
